In a bid to break the Senate’s stalemate on Iraq, Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin (D-Mich.) is working with a key appropriator on a strategy to slice the White House’s war funding request to pressure President Bush into changing course in Iraq.
Levin said Wednesday that giving Bush a six-month installment plan on the nearly $200 billion fiscal year 2008 war-funding request would serve a dual purpose: intensifying pressure on the president to change course after next June, and avoiding “sending a negative message to the troops” because war funding would continue. Forcing Bush to seek a second supplemental for fiscal year 2008 would add a fresh dose of presidential politics to the debate with campaign season moving into high gear early next summer.

Carl Levin has a large number of Muslim voters in his district - and he also gets mucho donations from them.
He's going to follow the $$ and if they say jump, he'll ask how high.
Pandering pols need to be purged - NOW.

Isn't it amazing how the Democrats are constantly coming up with "Plans", such as this one, and somehow think that by cutting funding in a different time schedule will cover up their main attempt to scuttle the President's strategies for the war.
They cleverly think they are going to fool everyone into thinking they support the war, and the Predsident, while they try to undermine it by a misdirectional document called an "Installment Plan." "Installment Plan?" Now THIS is supposed expedite the situation?
What are we getting here...a discount? Sorry Dems...we have to pay for it no matter what YOU phony patriots call it. What a disgrace to good government these "Leaders" have become.
It's pure mockery of good, sound governmental establisment as set down by our distinguished forefathers. The weight of these contributors of evil doing is becoming unbearable and intolerable. May the sting of millions of voters put an end this treachery in the coming elections.

Levin said adding the language in the Appropriations Committee would turn tables on Republicans by forcing them to reach the 60 votes needed on the floor to strip out the language. What an idiot. I e-mail him all the time, his answer/no answer to my concerns are so we good-they bad answers.
He would not know a good idea if it bit him. All I can do is keep at him with what I see as a better plan. I do my best to vote him out of office but my vote does not stack up to the ear-mark money projects votes.

Liberals always have a plan to rein in the US and our Allies, yet they never have a plan to counter threats from our enemies.
The way things proceed in the ME, Iraq will be the least of Levin's worries next year.

I, too, e-mail Levin on a regular basis and if I do say so myself, his staff is very good at sending out prewritten, keyword responses which don't ever address the real concern. A few times I've even been addressed as Ms., Miss, or Mrs., appellations I'm scarcely qualified to have being of the opposite sex.:D His only concern in Michigan is for welfare alley which includes little Saudi Arabia. If you aren't from that area, you might as well be from Mejico. Come to think of it, you would still be treated better than a citizen of Michigan.:pfft:

Some centrist Republicans have been open to the idea of a timetable for withdrawal, but have called for the goal to be 15 months. Levin said adding the language in the Appropriations Committee would turn tables on Republicans by forcing them to reach the 60 votes needed on the floor to strip out the language.
The RINOs riding to the rescue of the Dems yet again.
Playing politics with the war? We're not playing politics! Not us! No, no! No!

Senator Carl Levin= "USEFUL IDIOT"!!!
I disagree. The man is no longer 'useful'. When I see him holding forth on TV I have trouble believing that he could formulate a workable plan for going to the bathroom.

Every time liberal Democrats open their mouth our enemies stand up and cheer!
What does THAT tell you? Whether you are a Christian or not... if you want our country to have the slightest chance for freedom and survival...you better vote for a conservative and the Christians better pray to God the rest of the people will wake up in time to prevent disaster or you won't be able to worry about lesser issues.
Freedom and security first...and if we can win that back we can continue with other personal issues felt important to the individual.
Let's unite to get our freedom and security established as the first priority. Once we hit that one out of the ball park then we can concentrate on the other issues of importance.

With the present acrimonious attitude of the Dems who have clearly shown that they want America's defeat in Iraq, for Levin to aid them in their traitorous ambitions is grotesque.
