Black Republicans Lead Historic “Reparations March” on Congress
Washington, DC, March 1, 2007 –
The National Black Republican Association (NBRA) based in Washington, DC orchestrated a “Reparations March on Congress for a Formal Apology to African Americans” from the Democrat-controlled Congress. The group is demanding that the Democrats apologize for the Democratic Party’s 200-year history of racism and failed socialism that has trapped urban blacks in poverty. A “Reparations Petition” that is posted on the group’s website was delivered to Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid.
“The petition is based on inner-city Minister Rev. Wayne Perryman’s lawsuit against the Democratic Party that is being appealed to the US Supreme Court,” said NBRA Chairman Frances Rice who is a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel and a lawyer.

DEMOCRATIC PARTY OF NORTH CAROLINA CELEBRATES A RACIST
Republican Grassroots Activists in North Carolina Score A Major Victory Against the Racist Democrats!
With typical arrogance and disregard for black Americans, the Democratic Party of North Carolina has been holding its annual Vance-Aycock fundraising dinner that honors white supremacist, Gov. Charles Brantly Aycock, who used the 1898 Wilmington race riot where blacks were killed to win the governorship of North Carolina.
Outraged, grassroots activists, headed by Chad Nesbit, formed a group called "Carolina Stompers" and organized a protest against the Vance-Aycock dinner. The media firestorm forced North Carolina State Treasurer and candidate for Governor, Democrat Richard Moore, to admit the ugly truth about the racist past of the Democratic Party, publicly denounce the Vance-Aycock dinner and call for a change. This is a huge win! Good job, Chad!

Notably, on January 20, 2007, the North Carolina Democratic Party issued an apology for the 1898 Wilmington race riot because of a report commissioned by North Carolina Governor Michael Easley. That report can be found at: http://www.ah.dcr.state.nc. us/1898-wrrc/
The fact that the Democrats continued to plan their Vance-Aycock dinner after issuing an apology for the 1898 Wilmington race riot, demonstrates the true disdain that Democrats today have for blacks.

Moore: It's time Democrats renamed Vance-Aycock dinner
Treasurer will raise awareness about Gov. Aycock's role in racial oppression
RALEIGH-State Treasurer Richard Moore today said the N.C. Democratic Party should change the name of its annual Vance-Aycock fundraising dinner because its namesake, Gov. Charles Brantley Aycock, does not reflect the values of the modern Democratic Party.
In a letter to state Democratic Party leaders and Council of State members, Moore said he will use this weekend's Vance-Aycock dinner to raise awareness about Aycock's record. Aycock used the 1898 Wilmington race riots to win the governorship on a message of white supremacy, racial segregation and oppression. Aycock openly focused his 1900 campaign on an amendment to the North Carolina Constitution that was designed to disenfranchise tens of thousands of African-American voters. Aycock's victory fostered Jim Crow laws throughout the South that silenced the voice of millions of African-American voters for decades.
"When you read Gov. Aycock's speeches and understand the full, unvarnished history, the only conclusion is that he fought against the principles that the Democratic Party stands for today," said Moore. "We can no longer ignore the fact that many of us grew up being taught a much sanitized-and inaccurate-history when it came to Gov. Aycock. The truth is very ugly. While Gov. Aycock became known as the 'education governor,' the full story is that he pledged public education for illiterate whites and then used literacy tests to keep African-Americans from voting."
During the past year, the General Assembly and the state's two largest newspapers acknowledged the injustices of the of 1898 Wilmington race riot that killed 60 people and led to Aycock's white supremacy campaign of 1900.
"I can no longer defend naming a Democratic Party dinner after Gov. Aycock," concluded Moore. "The tactics Aycock embraced-fear, hatred, and voter intimidation at the hands of a band of 'red shirts'-must be acknowledged and repudiated. We have so many heroes, like Harvey Gantt, Liston Ramsey and Marie Colton, and they would serve as more appropriate honorees."
Moore said he will spend the week leading up to the Vance-Aycock dinner calling Democratic Party leaders, asking them to support the change.
