Wow,

I sometimes wonder why I vote Republican when they just go to Washington and behave like socialists. I guess the only thing worse is a Democrat as they usually behave like communists.

But the spending by the last two sessions of the GOP controlled congress, aided and abbetted by the GOP administration has been truly shameful. First they gave us a 100% expansion of the Dept of Education, then the largest farm subsidies ever, then 20,000 new federal airport security personeel and now they are about to outdo themselves (and undo the rest of us) with spending on a Prescription drug program that is beyond all reason and not coupled with any meaningful reforms of the bankrupt Medicare Program.

Below is my letter which went to Senators Mike Enzi and Craig Thomas and Rep. Barbara Cubin of Wyoming.

I suggest you all write and let your reps know how you feel about this massive expansion of government before it is too late.

Regards,
Jack

Dear Senator,

I'm writing to let you know how truly disgusted and dismayed I am to hear that the Republican led Congress is about to pass a prescription drug benefit for seniors without a single meaningful reform of this nearly bankrupt institution.

This benefit is laughingly estimated to cost $400 billion dollars making it the largest entitlement program in American History. Of course the Democrats are snickering because, like every previous entitlement program, they know it will cost much, much more.

I could perhaps have been supportive of such a benefit if it was coupled to meaningful fundamental medicare reforms that addressed the pending bankruptcy of that bloated, moribund and hopelessly bureaucratic institution. But no, you all just plan to compound the problem!

I ask you to think of my children as you cast your vote. As baby boomers we are the richest generation in American history. Previous generations have paid for their own health care. It is not right that my children should be denied the American dream buried in taxes to pay for medicine for people lacking the foresight to make provisions for their own retirement and care.

I urge you to vote against the prescription drug benefit!

Regards,
Jack

Jack, I think I will move this one over to Activism since you are sharing your letter and trying to get others to write. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
