(CNSNews.com) - Despite unwavering attention from the media, government and business, global warming is only of moderate concern to most consumers, according to a new survey of consumers and their environmental attitudes.
"Consumers are not drinking the Kool-Aid when it comes to green," said J. Walker Smith, president of the Yankelovich, Inc., marketing firm, which released the survey results on Monday.
"While they're highly aware of environmental issues due to the glut of media attention," said Smith, "the simple fact is that 'going green' in their everyday life is simply not a big concern or a high priority."

I'm waiting for a compelling reason, and I haven't heard one yet.
Why am I going to spend an extra $12 bucks for recycled printer paper that's not even as clean and white looking as the fresh stuff?
Why should I spend an extra $6000.00 on a car that will give me a mere 6 miles a gallon extra?
Why should I pay some company for "carbon credits" when the trees they plant will reduce the CO2 energy it took to plant them, thus breaking even.
Why should I listen to someone else's suggestion about how much energy I use when I'm comfortable with silly things, like air conditioning in the desert, and clean water coming out of my pipes?
And what the heck's wrong with bottled water? I drink about 6 of them a day, and I don't plan on driving around with glass. Or paper! Pfft!
We're the most blessed nation in the world, and these envirokooks act like all this awesome stuff is a complete curse and needs to be stopped.
So I'm still waiting for a compelling reason to "jump into action". And Al Gore, Sheryl Crow and the rest of the 100,000-trees-for-a-concert have proven themselves the most hypocritical of them all.
Gee, why am I not a stupid sheep following these nuts? :D

I for one am not that concerned with what is called 'global warming'. I'm not sure it's even happening.
But I am concerned with the chemicals in foods and cosmetics which have become harsher and harsher. Anyone with just very mild allergies can end up in the ER with an anaphylactic reaction to these chemicals. And if you say then don't ingest them or whatever, well if they are not listed on the label as such, how would I even know that that chemical was in that product.

This is precisely why the lefties must get legisaltion to force us to comply. And they want to get it done before they are completely exposed as frauds, charletons, and backwards "scientists".

I think the environmentalists have gone overboard on this the way they do with everything.
They've managed to mix having a clean environment with global warming (climate change) and have come up with a stew that isn't very palatable. As a result they haven't made their case for manmade global warming.
Most people are quite good about keeping their own little area of the universe clean by recycling, picking up trash, that type of thing.
I did not cause the ice caps on Mars to melt!! Honest!!

Great, vindicating news about the stalling green bandwagon.
Too bad about the gullible lefties who spent all that money on a hybrid or carbon offsets only to learn, a bit late, that it's not doing anybody any good.

Yeah, except let's just watch what the EPA does.
They will force it, not because of environment, but because of politics.
