I'm still thinking Edwards is going to pull the Democrat nomination. However, I believe the DNC is pulling for Lieberman, specifically by their choice of convention locale in Boston. Either way, I don't think the Democrats stand a chance in '04...however, I've learned to never say never. Edwards is charismatic and young, also a southern democrat which tends to lend him more credence I think in the domestic political scene. We shall see, won't we?

I was thinking about the Democrat's political strategy here and they've mapped it out entirely wrong.

For one, their economic stimulus plan is the same as Bush's tax cut last yr. This is a no-brainer. They should go along with the stimulus plan, in fact they ought to advocate more spending.... and if I were them, I'd have your Presidential hopeful broker a deal with the White House to pass an economic stimulus plan.

On the Iraq issue they need to shut up. They look horrible saying pre-emption isnt alright, then saying, 'we should be hitting north korea!!'. It's totally hypocritical. If I were them, I'd let Bush have his way with the war and then focus on domestic politics. Again, push your hopeful to broker the deal for the Iraq conflict. Then focus on domestic divides and get what you want by more sly tactics while everyone is busy watching Iraq.

In the end year, they can claim a canidate for President who reaches across party aisles etc etc. If they pushed Edwards, said he's a southern moderate and understands America blah blah they may win. Especially if they DON'T bash Bush.

On the flip side, at their current rate, they'll lose another 2 house seats from southern US and maybe 1 Senate seat for opposing stupid things. Bush needs to simply keep letting them attack him, they're failing on virtually every front and it's hurting their public persona a lot.

Anyway, im done spewing political strat.

Trumper, you have missed one thing in your comments on the Dems strategy. Trumper, they ain't got a strategy!!!! Currently they are leaderless and without a unifiying set of policies to give them direction.

I don't think any one should be shutting up about Iraq. The US is clearly at a crossroads where to move forward militarily on Iraq somewhat flies in the face of the situation in North Korea.

Let's face it. President Bush is turning out to be nothing more than a one trick pony trying to gain redemption for his father's squandered presidency and legacy. Unfortunately, the policies of the past no longer fit the world we face today.

So Trumper, let all who care about a peaceful world where conflicts are settled with diplomacy and not guns, peak out on the issues. Yes, I think even elected Democrats should have a say on this one.

Ponder these words of wisdom attributed to former President Bill Clinton. It was along the lines of: 'in times like these people would sooner have someone in power who is strong and wrong, than someone who seems week but is right.'

Sorry Reccos, when I think of Clinton quotes I just never get past "I didn't have sex with that woman" or the meaning of "is". http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin5.gif Clinton is just not to be taken seriously on serious matters, not by serious people.

Terri: If the criterion for not taking anyone seriously is anyone has told a lie about infidelity in a relationship, you'd probably be talking only to yourself. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Give credit where credit is due. It is interesting how respected former President Clinton is throughout the free world, yet many Americans won't accept that the economy during his regime performed great. His economic policies were Mr. Greenspan's from the start of his administration to the end.

Yes, of course you are right, Reccos. I do give the impeached ex-president credit wherever he is due it. I'm happy to provide you some examples. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

I give him credit for failing to take national security seriously and for failing to accept bin Laden when he was offered.

I give him credit for failing to take terrorism as a serious threat even after the WTC was bombed the first time.

I give him credit, in conjunction with Jimmy Carter, for supplying North Korea with nuclear reactors.

I give him credit for giving nuclear secrets to China.

I give him credit for pardoning Mark Rich and many other assorted white collar criminals as he left office.

I give him credit for running all over the world undermining President Bush and making a total a$$ of himself.

I give him credit for taking credit for an economic atmosphere created by others and for singlehandedly causing the tech market debacle with his suit against Microsoft.

I give him credit for Waco, and Ruby Ridge, and taking a 5 year old child at the point of an attack rifle in the middle of the night.

I give him credit for cheating on his wife with as many assorted women as possible.

I give him credit for the stain on the blue dress.

I give him credit for teaching all the young children in this country what a BJ is and that oral sex isn't really sex.

I give him credit for perjury.

I give him credit for stealing furniture and dishes from the White House.

I give him credit for being low class trash and lowering the tone of discourse in this country beyond anything we've ever seen before.

How much more credit would you like him to have? I'm sure I can think of some other credits for him. After all they are all part of his legacy and legacies are important to preserve.

Great post by Terri. Let's also give him credit for completely getting rid of what little morality was left in this America. You will never recover from what these evil people did to you and you still don't get it. RIP, America. We are all done. I don't care what happens any more and you will get what you deserve soon enough. When the Nukes start flying around, no one knows where they will stop. The Democrats are your mortal enemies and should be eliminated from the face of the earth and you still put up with their despicable crap. It's not just Politics any more. They have ruined us!

Naaaah...

Democrats are just noonieheads who managed to bamboozle a gullible populous for FAR too long. Ê

Now they're on the decline, as is liberalism and a few other nasty things and Republicans, fighting the good fight, may be in for some rewards for our patience!

With a little care, and caution, a simple, workable plan and some integrity, this could be the beginning of the Golden Age of Reason in America.

Ok... I'm an optimist. ÊBut we've been on the 'down' side for so long, and now...

Well, I'm not ruined, this country isn't ruined, and I think we deserve a shot!

Oh! Yeah! And back on the original topic of this thread... I think it's WAY too early to start calling this sort of thing! These twits are going to come and go like leaves is a windstorm.

Call me in the Spring of 2004

Oh! Just one more thing I'd like to give BJ Clinton credit for ~ selling the Lincoln bedroom to his Chinese cronies for 30 pieces of silver. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/fire.gif

Absolutely! I've got my Pepsi and popcorn all lined up for the "creep show" we lovingly call the Democratic Convention. I can hardly wait to see Edwards, Lieberman, Gephardt, and his hatefulness Al Sharpton in a grand debate. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rotflo.gif I'd even pay to watch ~ and that's going some. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/mdr11.gif By the time they've ripped each other to shreds, there won't be much left for Bush to do.
