Jimmy Carter Joins Mandela 'Brain Trust'
Reuters
Nelson Mandela marked his 89th birthday on Wednesday by launching an international group of elder statesmen, including fellow Nobel peace laureates Desmond Tutu and Jimmy Carter, to tackle the world's problems.
As birthday tributes poured in, Mandela said the group of "elders" would use almost 1,000 years of collective experience to dream up solutions for seemingly insurmountable problems like climate change, HIV/AIDS and poverty.

*So this is sort of a 'three old guys Dear Abby?' OK TOGDA, here's my question. Shouldn't senile old coots who were never that bright to begin with just retire gracefully and raise peanuts or something? Oh yeah, and where were all these 'auto-parts calendar' babes when I was in high school?

Omigosh! Haven't they done enough damage already? Fool me once shame on you! Fool me twice shame on me! No thanks! Keep your fingers outta the stew or you'll ruin it.

Keep in mind that Nelson Mandela becoming president of South Africa would be similar to Timothy McVey being elected president in the United States. He was imprisoned for planning to blow up the largest train station in South Africa (when it was a common mode of transportation).
I'm not sure I EVER liked his methods of solving problems. I KNOW I NEVER liked Carter's method of creating even bigger problems. And we ALL KNOW Kofi would be in it only for kickbacks!
So they're known for 1000 years of terrorism and incompetence! Whooped-de-doo!
I wouldn't want them to solve a car pooling schedule conflict! I know I wouldn't want to give them authority over anything more than when they might bathe or retire for the evening.
Like one of these yahoos could come up with a cure for AIDS! Oh let's hold our breath!
I doubt between them they could come up with enough gray matter to form one useable brain!

Rangerrebrew: your signature would be even better if it refered to that brainless boob Carter.

I think they've already made up their minds on that one- more western money in general, US $$ in particular.

One thousand years of experience between them and my 6 y/o could come up with better solutions to the world's problems.
Just be very alert. They could do a lot of damage while 'working behind the scenes'.

Bad experience to the 10th power still equals bad experience! Or may it is exponentially worse as they can feed off of the other's bad experiences. I think I see Nightmare on Elm Street as less frightening than this brain fart .... er trust.

Two words I'd never have associated with President Carter: "brain" and 'trust".
