WICHITA, Kan. — As stabbing victim LaShanda Calloway lay dying on the floor of a convenience store, five shoppers, including one who stopped to take a picture of her with a cell phone, stepped over the woman, police said.
The June 23 situation, captured on the store's surveillance video, got scant news coverage until a columnist for The Wichita Eagle disclosed the existence of the video and its contents Tuesday.
Police have refused to release the video, saying it is part of their investigation.
"It was tragic to watch," police spokesman Gordon Bassham said Tuesday. "The fact that people were more interested in taking a picture with a cell phone and shopping for snacks rather than helping this innocent young woman is, frankly, revolting."

"Revolting" doesn't begin to describe this...
Took a pic, but DIDN'T call 911... what is happening to us??

I have no frame of reference for anything like this at all. None. It's simply unimagineable.

I don't know RD.
But it's all around, and getting worse.
People, especially in areas of higher populations are becoming so desensitized that I fear for the world my children are growing up in.
It's a complete loss of direction, no moral compass, complete disregard for the value of human life.
When many in our society began teaching the children that man is nothing more than another animal, no better no worse, just one more species on the planet, I suppose it was only a matter of time before many would start acting as though it were true.

Here's another one for you that didn't make the news as the above did. I live on a fairly busy street in Wichita and have my office in my home. Just a half a block north of my residence, about six weeks ago, an asian family living there was attacked by an asian gang. Three asians dressed in black ninja outfits with swords on their backs and guns in hand shot seven rounds at the husband and at the home. The husband was outside starting their auto to take the kids to school. One round grazed the man while the other rounds knocked out his auto rear window. No one was hurt inside the home.
Thirty days later this same gang came back and fired some more rounds into the home....no one was hurt. Needless to say the family packed up and moved. The home is up for sale.
This is a prime example of how dangerous our society has become and why I believe we need to adapt ourselves and become a well armed society and learn how to become a nation who knows how to protect it'self in our community.

Here's a thought, first you decide it's a mother's right to kill her unborn child. Then you come up with the idea it's ok to assist suicide. Then you top it off with the idea it's ok to chop up babies and experiment on the parts to possibly come with some kind of cure.
It's no wonder we've lost our moral compass. abounds in this country.

Here's another thought. Money. I hear people talk about how america is founded on Christian principles. I go to church and listen to my pastor tell me how I can live as God intends. Then I see what happens in america and how the vast majority of people worship the almighty dollar so so so much more than God. This sickening incident does nothing to surprise me one iota, in fact its now the norm in america. If we are a nation founded on Christian principles we sure arent EVEN CLOSE to being a Christian nation because we care much much more about how much money we can make than helping others out. What happened in Witchita is a true picture of america. I hate to say it but it is. This didnt surprise anybody I talked too. ALthough they were astounded, they expect it to happen.
