Climate change behind Darfur killing: UN's Ban
AFP

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the slaughter in Darfur was triggered by global climate change and that more such conflicts may be on the horizon, in an article published Saturday.

"The Darfur conflict began as an ecological crisis, arising at least in part from climate change," Ban said in a Washington Post opinion column.

UN statistics showed that rainfall declined some 40 percent over the past two decades, he said, as a rise in Indian Ocean temperatures disrupted monsoons.

"This suggests that the drying of sub-Saharan Africa derives, to some degree, from man-made global warming," the South Korean diplomat wrote.

"It is no accident that the violence in Darfur erupted during the drought," Ban said in the Washington daily.

Well, that's it! I'm going to kill someone and blame it on climate change.

PMS is no longer to blame for all that ails the world (at least from a female perspective). I think women have finally been liberated to murder at will and blame the weather. What else could we want!

I do need an explanation though. Why did men kill each other before 1900?

Oh never mind, I'm sure it was just radical Christians trying to force their beliefs on mankind!

I think Moon needs to study the history of the region. He might learn something and realize the problems are more than 'climate change/global warming'.

I also notice he's using the new phrase 'climate change' just in case it gets cooler instead of warmer. :eh:

Why did men kill each other before 1900? No, no, no, there's no mystery. Global warming was alive and well then too. Ie: Caveman Frunk to caveman Glurg: "Sheeeeesse it hot!" And Glurg say, "Well put out fire idiot!" WHAP! See? Even during the stone age, they killed each other over the environment.
