Here's Our Opportunity To Help Save the Pledge

Quote[/b] ]This is a very serious situation that demands
immediate action.

Right now, the U.S. Supreme Court has just weeks
to decide whether or not to hear the case that
has made the Pledge of Allegiance unconstitutional.

Should the court decide NOT to hear the case, the 9th Circuit
ruling would take effect and block 9.6 million public school
students in nine Western states from saying the Pledge of
Allegiance each morning and likely set off an avalanche of
lawsuits attacking our other foundational documents!

In an effort to get the voice of the people directly to the
Supreme Court Justices themselves, Grassfire is launching a
nationwide campaign to deliver 100,000 personal letters to
the U.S. Supreme Court urging them to reverse the 9th Circuit
Court's decision!

Here's how you can help:

* * *ACTION ITEM -- "LETTERFIRE" THE COURT

Grassfire.net has set up a "LetterFire" system that will
automatically deliver by U.S. Mail 10 letters on your
behalf -- to each of the nine Justices plus Attorney General
John Ashcroft. Click here to see the letter and take
advantage of our technology:

OR...

If you prefer to send the letters yourself, we have posted
the addresses and sample letter copy for you to use.

EITHER WAY, PLEASE GET YOUR MESSAGE TO THE U.S. SUPREME COURT!

Again, click here:

* * * LETTERS ARE THE KEY!

The Court has told us that letters are the only way to
reach the Justices. That said, Grassfire wants to deliver
a undeniable message to the Court to not only hear the case,
but reverse it! Here are two ways you can make a strong
personal impact:

WE ARE CALLING ON 100 PERCENT PARTICIPATION!

We believe we can make a substantial impact on this case,
but only if all of our citizen activists take action!

Regardless of which way you chose to make an impact, we
truly need everyone who has signed our "I Support the Pledge"
petition to take IMMEDIATE AND DECISIVE ACTION!

Thank you for your support!

Live Radio Broadcast--I'd recommend you listen to this!!
IT just makes it more powerful!!

I seriously doubt the supreme court will hold this up. If they do, look forward to a constitutional amendment to keep it in. Even Democrats would have to vote for it in congress and in state legislatures because if they don't the attacks on their patriotism would be founded and accurate in the eyes of the American people.

...then again Karl Rove has been writing the strategy for the Democrats and Republicans, so you never know. Just like he got the Democrats to slam the doors in their faces about the tax cut, the war, and miguel estrada, he might get them to do it again with the pledge.

Time will tell.

But I believe a few years from now we'll all still be saying "under god" in our pledge.

I have a problem with them asking for money to send the letters, You send letters yourself to the high court however its better to send an amicus brief.

Mark, I agree with you buddy. I told Grassfire much the same thing when they started charging for everything that they want you to do. Until not too long ago, they made it possible to sign pledges on various issues via the Internet, and then allowed you to make a donation if you wished. It appears that their petition signing option has disappeared without the cold cash to go with it. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif

You cannot access the supreme court via email, ya'll, so they are offering to put those letters into envelopes and send them. * Suppose 50,000 people wanted them to do that--think what it would cost them in money and time!! * So, in this case, I would have to agree that they would need to charge!

Since there are only two of them, basically, I would have to assume that they would have to hire help to do this! *

BUT, there is no charge if you send the letters yourself and the addresses are furnished. So, they are only offering a service for those who wish to use it.
