NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - U.S. stock markets, which had rallied in anticipation of President Bush's broad economic plan, showed no signs of enthusiam Tuesday as details of the plan were officially released.

All major market indexes spent the day bouncing in and out of positive territory, failing to find definite direction, even after Bush delivered his stimulus speech in the early afternoon. According to preliminary reports, the Nasdaq composite (Charts) closed around 10 points higher, at 1,431, while the Dow Jones industrial average (Charts) ended 33 points lower at 8,740 and the S&P 500 index (Charts) lost about 6 points to close at 922
