This title of Bernard Goldberg's new book sums up in a few words what the problem is in this country politically on just about every issue confronting us.
With respect to illegal immigration, with few exceptions the Left would be very happy to throw open our borders completely. While the Right will not secure them.
The Goldberg title is equally usefull when looking at what is happening in Iraq. The Left has declared defeat, while the Right has not and will not prosecute the war to win it.
As usual, the American people are caught between the kind of crazy, incoherent leadership offered by the Left and a kind of wimpish, rudderless leadership offered by the Right.
In short, on the illegal immigration issue, the Left is busy appeasing what they hope will be a new group of "victims", er ah, constituents, and the Right is busy appeasing the Left and big business.
I have to ask, when in the hell are the vast majority of Americans caught between the political crazies and the political wimps in Congress and the White House going to be given some consideration in this debate??
It would certainly be nice to have a conservative in the White House again!!
