:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:

Happy Friday! :snow:

Ok, so it's Friday the 13th. So what? :it:

The MSM seems very disappointed that most of the troops aren't upset about the extension of their deployments. They had been prepared ahead of time. :notworthy:

A rumor hitting the MSM says that AG Gonzales may be replaced with Utah Sen. Orrin Hatch. :yikes:

Black Panther Malik Shabazz called Michelle Malkin a prostitute on the O'Reilly Factor last night. Ugly, ugly racist man. :angst:

NJ Governor Jon Corzine was seriously injured in a car crash yesterday. Reports are he wasn't wearing his seat belt. He was on his way to mediate a meeting between Don Imus and Rutgers. Now why would a governor involve himself in that mess? Oh, that's right. They were going to have cameras there.

The old 'birds descended from dinosaurs' business is starting up again. :shake:

Don't miss the Robert Byrd article posted in Congress. You'll be sorry if you do. :laff:

Words of Wisdom! "A Man may, if he know not how to save, keep his Nose to the Grindstone, and die not wirth a Groat at last." ~ Benjamin Franklin

:jacka: of the Day! "John McCain's not an idiot. I'm sure he knows that it's not safe in Baghdad, but he has to pretend that it's safe in Baghdad because that's what the GOP base wants to hear. [M]ost Republicans are still gung-ho about the war. In fact, two-thirds of likely GOP primary voters support what Bush is doing in Iraq. They support the surge. They've swallowed so much Kool-Aid that any change in their diet would kill them." ~ Bill Maher

God Bless our great country. :flag19: May Freedom ever ring!

Cooool, clear and sunny in my corner of Paradise. I've got doors and windows open to capture the cool, cuz it's predicted to go to 90 degrees today...yuck.

My biz iz internet based. I get a LOT of flakes. I also get a lot of phone calls. Yesterday, I had a call with the ID "out of area." I hesitate answering those because my hubs likes to call me and harass me and sometimes it's an obscene phone caller...both are creepy. But I picked up. It was a lovely sounding English chap, calling from across the pond...wanted to know the parameters for a broadcast license as it pertains to foreigners. Helping newbies buy radio stations is my forte. I gave him the info, and told him not to waste his money calling, I'm just an e-mail away! It's always a giggle when I get overseas calls and e's...reminds me how small this world is.

16 yo spent most of her day with sis at the barn...looks like Rat the Cat With No Personality but likes to Kill Things is going to the barn. She's half wild already, and she seems to have wiped out the local rodent and lizard population here, so she might as well go where there is happy hunting.
So Imus is canned, wanna bet he goes to satellite? I was printed in a daily radio e-mag yesterday, with my opinion that when Blacks clean up their act they will deserve the respect they demand. I actually got a response (my e-mail was printed with it) and the guy gave me applause.

I mean it, too, when Blacks disrespect themselves, why do they expect others to not disrespect them? Time to ban offensive rap from the sirwaves, "Revs" Sharpton and Jackson.

Horrible about the Iraq Paliament bombings...they are eating their own and it's scary...

off to pollute, and then back to work....

Howdy Howdy Folks!!

Great Pictures CleosMom, did you get to meet John Travolta too?
(The jet in the background) :D

Sorry, early morning humor before my first cup-a-joe.

Today...cold with periods of rain. Highs 40 to 45 with East winds at 10-20 mph. Tonight...rain changing to snow. Snow could be heavy at times as lows drop to near 32. NE winds at 10-20 mph. Saturday...snow ending in the morning. Total snowfall of 3 to 5" is expected
:yuk: I was kind of hoping that we were finished with snow for the year.

In fact, two-thirds of likely GOP primary voters support what Bush is doing in Iraq.
Uh,... Yea Bill,...
Some Americans DO support our country, our troops and our POTUS.

Crazy concept isn't it.

Well, not much news here, We have guests coming over for dinner this evening, and I have a little work to finish up before Sunday but not much.

Having an entire week to prepare for only one service is like being on vacation after getting used to three a week.

I might actually get all of my homework done in time for school!!

See Ya!

I have to do my "checking in" from home starting this morning. Yesterday, our IT department found some spyware on my computer at work, and some of it (yeah right) traced back to this site. I've been duly "blocked" from all my fun hangouts .

We don't have any spyware. We have a cookie here in the forum that helps you stay logged in. That may be what they saw.

We have a cookie that pops up a window to sign up for the newsletter if you are not already signed up.

And you may get a cookie if you click on the ads at the top. They no doubt have tracking software.

Word for the day is Paraskevidekatriapho bia (http://urbanlegends.about.c om/cs/historical/a/friday_the_13th.htm) Fear of Friday the thirteenth.

The linked article provides all the rationale you'll ever need to procrastinate any trips or chores you were planning on doing today in favor of rolling over and going back to sleep, or maybe a game of Scrabble in hopes of getting a triple word score on "Paraskevidekatriapho bia".

Yesterday, our IT department found some spyware on my computer at work, and some of it (yeah right) traced back to this site.
Actually, what the spyware does is track your surfing habbits and locations, then forwards that information back home to the mother ship.
[the spyware developer] Who sells the information to marketing companies.

So it would not be a surprise to find this site, and any other site you have visited in it's database.

However, that in no way implies that it came from here. It simply stored this url because this web site had been visited.

I may get kicked out of the "Geek Union" for saying this,....

IT guys need something to do, and will seldom blame their own lack of security for a problem, it is much easier to point a finger at the end user.

(I learned that at the CISCO Networking Acadeny.)

Good morning everyone. Cold and very dark here. No sign of the :sunspin: so I'll just turn on :light: and pretend it's sunny.

Ok, so it's Friday the 13th. So what? :it:
I know some feel differently, but to me, it's just another day and a Friday at that. :woohoo:

Black Panther Malik Shabazz called Michelle Malkin a prostitute on the O'Reilly Factor last night. Ugly, ugly racist man. :angst:
I don't watch BOR much anymore but happened to catch that segment. Michelle was furious but managed to keep her cool and put him in his place.

NJ Governor Jon Corzine was seriously injured in a car crash yesterday. Reports are he wasn't wearing his seat belt.
No doubt he voted for the seat belt law. Seems this is another case of 'do as I say, not as I do.'

"John McCain's not an idiot. I'm sure he knows that it's not safe in Baghdad, but he has to pretend that it's safe in Baghdad because that's what the GOP base wants to hear. <snip> Bill Maher
And Maher knows all this because of the Democratic propaganda he buys into instead of listening to our troops on the ground or people who have been there.

It's called patriotism, a foreign concept to many on the left.

Good morning. A beautiful :sunspin: ny day, a little on the cool side but supposed to be warmer later on.

Nice pictures, CM. Thanks for posting them. I saw you on the 3rd page. Who presented the klompen to McCain? How many people attended? I have to believe the old guard here would faint dead away if I were to suggest we hold the LDD in a hangar. They almost had a united stroke when we tried to have it at a different venue than the same old hotel where we always have it. At the time the hotel was being allowed to fall into disrepair and was actually not very clean and the food was not good. Now it's been remodeled, is clean and the food is superb.

The National Railroad Museum is in Green Bay and they have a lot of political doings there. I've been to a couple. Ike's train from WWII is there. Very bare bones method of travel in the heyday of trains, which were like posh hotels on wheels.

Ahhhhh, dear William............. :1luvu: s the unbiased Michael Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, Ward Churchill, George Soros middle-of-the-road politics.

All of the above have regurgitated so much bile, they could probably swallow Drano with no trouble.

Chari - The gentleman presenting the wooden shoes is our State Senator Wayne Kuipers. Pretty easy on the eyes isn't he? Actually, our volunteer (who won the volunteer of the year award and is 70 something) calls him "eye candy".

We had about 450 people there. We had a lot of fun with the theme - I didn't hear any complaints at least. We only have one venue in the county that accommodates more than 350ish and they were already booked. So we applied some creative thinking and came up with the hanger idea. It was ideal ~ the Senator landed at the airport in a private plane and they taxied (sp) right up to the door! If only the weather had been nicer (we had six inches of white stuff on the ground, high winds and bitter cold) we could have opened one of the doors so everyone could watch the plane.

And yes, let the planning begin! I talked with someone from Romney's campaign yesterday about his visit. He is planning to come the first week of August, but we don't have a firm date yet. That will be a Reagan Day Dinner.

We are also negotiating with Giuliani's campaign for a visit in November. PLUS, we've been approached by someone from Fred Thompson's campaign. AND, I had the privilege of getting stuck in an elevator with Senator Brownback about a month ago and he practically invited himself here! I fear we are running out of special dinner names for all these events! I also wonder when I get to take a day off. I love event planning, but it takes a toll.

I think I need to get caught up on current events. I see on the "side bar" there is an email controversy in the White House?!? I am pitifully out of touch right now. Think I'll go get my fave Subway sub and catch up on some reading.

Later. . . .

CleosMom

It occurs to me I should tell you about the elevator incident. Senator Brownback was one of the featured speakers at our last State Convention and we were staying in the same high-rise (by Midwest standards) hotel. Anyway, hubby and I were tired, so we skipped some of the parties so we could get some sleep. I was thirsty and wanted some Coke, so I pulled on a pair of slacks and put a zebra print jacket on over my nightgown. To complete the outfit, I was wearing a pair of purple flipflops. Get the picture? It wasn't very pretty. The pop machine on our floor was out of order, so I hopped on the elevator and went up a floor. No pop machine to be found. Back to the elevator and one floor higher. Operating pop machine, but out of Coke. Back to the elevator again! (Remember, I left thinking I was taking a short jaunt down the hallway and wouldn't encounter anyone). The doors open, I step in. . . . . and there is Senator Brownback - alone. Wouldn't have been polite to get off the elevator, so I got in and pushed the button for the next floor. The Senator had visited our office about a week before the November election, but I figured if I kept my back sort of turned from him he wouldn't recognize me. It didn't work. He not only recognized that he knew me, but actually remembered my name (first only) and my position. I figured at this point there no sense in trying to preserve any dignity anyway, so I might as well enjoy our encounter. He was headed up to the top floor for a private ($$$$$) reception, but he stepped off the elevator on the same floor I was headed to and we talked for a few minutes in the elevator alcove.

Nice man. He invited me to the party. . . . hubby too. We didn't go because it was pretty late and we were hardly dressed for the occasion.

But it was interesting and he was an extremely nice and friendly guy.

I may work long hours, but I get to tell some great stories as the result of my job!

TGImRepublican, Still smiling I see. Good to see your attitude is still bright. Hug those grandkids, that's one thing they never forget.

Hi ya, Rev! I was at the Rev's house just the other night and you know what he told me. He told me how the devil just hounds women. He said his wife came home with a new dress. He told her, "That's the 3rd dress this week."

When he asked her why she bought another new dress, she said, "I was just walking down the street minding my own business when the devil comes up behind me and says, 'that dress 'd look good on you.' I said, 'Devil, you just leave me alone.' That's when the devil shoved me, I said shoved me through the door. He made me try it on and then he made me buy it and then he made me sign your name to a check."

Well that's the short version and the best I can remember. It's good to see you hanging out with us again, Revalamb!

As for the company who found "spyware" on a company computer (I can't remember who it was now), I suspect it was not the spyware they found. I suspect they installed their own spyware to watch what employees are doing and then tracked down the usage to this site. They implemented the ban on this site, not because of spyware, but to prevent you coming here on a company computer.

They implemented the ban on this site, not because of spyware, but to prevent you coming here on a company computer.

When I worked at the bank, we hired a new loan officer.

He had been there about a week, and he came into my office.
Mind you I had a large "10 Commandments" engraving on my desk, My rather large study bible, and a small stack of bibles that I would give to guests and new employees.

He asked me if I was able to review web sites visited by employees.

I said; "Of course?"

He said, ;"Well then, I guess I had better tell you, I went to a site called "orgasm dot com", but I won't do it again... It was a mistake, I accidentally typed in that URL."

I was OK with his honesty, but I sure didn't appreciate; "I ACCIDENTALLY" typed in ORGASM DOT COM.

How can someone type that in by accident?

It's shocking what some folks do on company equipment.

I overlooked allot of stuff, lots of people read the news, check out their home town newspapers, even do a little shopping.

But some of the things I saw, would sure make a person think twice before sitting down in a private room with the person in front of you.

Howdy, Ya'll,

Boy, what a plethora of subjects. I never used that word before--I hope I used it in the right context.

I won't even comment on what the guy may have been looking for, but I'm with you, CS, sounds like a really weak excuse to me, albeit honest--well, to a point--up to the excuse. :shake:

Amawalk John, do you like the old standard big band music played on a trombone band? I was looking for the memorial site for my cousin who was in "Bones West" out in Anaheim, Ca. and came across a site where they invite you to listen and download their music. They made a CD, but were not allowed to sell it--he sent it to me and it's very good, if you like that music and I do!!

So, if you want to check it out, you can find it HERE (http://www.boneswest.org/justfriendscd.html) and the one who died is Charlie Larue--you'll see his name on a few of the tunes as the arranger. The man finished college at 65 or past, just because he wanted to. Died at 84. Never retired until a stroke put him down! Wonder if it runs in the family--my brother still plays and he's 84. :D

CM, it's so good to see you posting and telling your stories--you and Charie certainly seem to lead interesting lives--all I have to talk about is the weather.

Do you think you could get any of those presidential candidates to talk to us in a live chatroom where folks could ask them questions--I can get one that will seat 500, if you can.

RevaLamb, good to see you back, too, youngun!! We miss all of you when you don't show up, you know.

Hope you all have a good evening.
