Family Of Man Killed At LAX Files $30 Million Claim Against City

LOS ANGELES -- The family of Yaakov "Jacob" Aminov, the 46-year-old diamond importer who was killed July 4, 2002, by a gunman at Los Angeles International Airport, has filed a claim seeking $30 million from the city, the family's attorney said.

The claim, filed Friday on behalf of Aminov's widow and eight children, asked the city to compensate for economic and emotional losses, said attorney Richard I. Fine.

There was a discussion on MSNBC (The Abrams Report) just this morning re: this and much to my surprise, he called it like it is. Why should the taxpayers have to pay for this? And most people agreed with him.
