Alec Baldwin offers to pay for local soldier's education - By DOMINIKA MASLIKOWSKI/The Daily News
MOHAVE VALLEY - Patricia Kane was relaxing in her recliner on her day off when she heard her gate open and saw her boss running toward the front door.
“You'll never guess what happened,” said Annette Tapia, an assistant manager at a Family Dollar store.
Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin had called the store earlier March 4 asking for Kane. He'd seen an article in the New York Times about Kane's daughter Resha and the send-off she received from the Bullhead Patriots before her departure to Fort Hood, Texas, and, eventually, Iraq.
The story focused on Resha's youthful innocence and the harsher military life she was entering. It quoted Kane saying it was her duty to serve, and pictured her in a teary goodbye with her father.
