Former Vice President Al Gore refused to take a "Personal Energy Ethics Pledge" today to consume no more energy than the average American household. The pledge was presented to Gore by Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, during today's global warming hearing.
Senator Inhofe showed Gore a film frame from "An Inconvenient Truth" where it asks viewers: "Are you ready to change the way you live?" Gore has been criticized for excessive home energy usage at his residence in Tennessee. His electricity usage is reportedly 20 times higher than the average American household.

He thinks he is too good for that.

It doesn't surprise me. Al Gore is an energy hog. http://smileys.smileycentra l.com/cat/16/16_10_2.gif (http://www.smileycentral.co m/?partner=ZSzeb001_ZS YYYYYYLDUS)

I have two questions:
1) How can we possibly take this idiot seriously about "global warming" if he doesn't take it seriously and step up to the "energy conservation" plate himself?
2) What's the matter with the people in this country who think he's such an "energy guru"? (I guess they don't teach "logic" in public school anymore.)

Not only does Al Gore think he is too good to accept the Personal Energy Pledge, but the Millions he is making from this whole Global Warming fiasco is no different from the Snake Oil salesmen in days past. Plus, to make it even worse, the arguments he presents are based on questionable interpretations and, in some cases, the opposite to where the facts point. Anyone interested should view the British documentary, "The Great Global Warming Swindle" which you find on Youtube.com or Google.

And, this is what the lunatic fringe want to elect as President.

He's gone Hollywood, and politically, he's a one trick pony with his ecochondriac junk science.

Ever notice how angry the demoncrats are. The blob that swallowed a whale(Gore) Clinton, wife of the gigolo. Dean, mad hatter of Vermont. Kerry, pompous aristrocrat, illegitimate son of a french general who surrendered four times during the second world war who wants to follow in daddies footsteps. Schumer, American hater, yet supporter of terrorists. Reid, the outcast mormon who loves to make deals with unsavory characters. I mean the list just goes on and on, they are angry, spitefull and sometimes border on the side of evil in their intentions. Never anything good for America, just hatred of Bush drives them to their insane actions.

I exhibit zero surprise. But...

"not consume more energy than the average American household" …?

OK, sure. Former VP Gore (D-irtbag, TN) is a lying Earth pig, snake-oil selling, limousine liberal, fat cat, con artist huckster of literally global proportions - but I cant help but wonder how much juice Sen. Inhofe's house uses? Bet its more than the average Joe or Josephine's consumes. Bet the same could be said about most if not all the folks on the Hill and in the big show.

And YES. I get that he is calling out the former VP because of the deceitful vile bile he keeps spewing about the horrors of global warming, all the while being a hideous energy pig himself. Im just asking - can anybody point me to anyone of those folks who's house doesn’t use more juice than the "average" American household? Just one example?

Wild Bill I'm sure your post would be most welcome on moveon.org. Typical liberal response. Inhof has been on the trail of the GW hoaxter for some time. But he had better not ask any embarrassing questions. After all the GW king was treated with kid gloves by the dhimmicrats and the lamestream media.

This idiot got so many softballs thrown at him yesterday he deserved at least one hardball. I guess that was one too many.

I don't think Wild Bill is a liberal but I'll be glad to provide him an example.

The White House Goes Solar (http://www.ofee.gov/sb/wh_solar.html)

John Howard, the Federal Environmental Executive, noted: "Installing solar panels at the White House is yet another example of President Bush's personal stewardship commitment. When he was governor, he made sure that the Governor's Mansion in Austin was one of the first to sign up to receive renewable energy. At his ranch in Crawford, the Bush family has installed a 25,000-gallon rainwater cistern for irrigation and planted native plants -- and he's busy removing invasive trees. Their geothermal heating and cooling system sends water into the ground 300 feet to keep it at a constant 67 degrees, using 75 percent less electricity than traditional heating and air-conditioning systems - and so efficiently heating the outdoor pool that they shelved their plans to install solar panels. And his national energy plan includes more than $9 billion in tax proposals to increase energy efficiency, conservation, renewable energy, and emissions-free energy."

Now, that was 2002 for the White House and I think we all know that Al Gore wasn't in it.

Here's more on the president's ranch. Btw, this is his family residence, not a summer cabin. How does this compare to the 4 or 5 mansions that Gore, Kerry, Edwards and Kennedy family have each.

Is George Bush a Closet Green? (http://www.treehugger.com/files/2007/02/is_george_bush.php)

Only your dispassionate Canadian correspondent could write this without colour or favour, but is it possible that George Bush is a secret Green? Evidently his Crawford Winter White House has 25,000 gallons of rainwater storage, gray water collection from sinks and showers for irrigation, passive solar, geothermal heating and cooling. “By marketplace standards, the house is startlingly small,” says David Heymann, the architect of the 4,000-square-foot home. “Clients of similar ilk are building 16-to-20,000-square-foot houses.” Furthermore for thermal mass the walls are clad in "discards of a local stone called Leuders limestone, which is quarried in the area. The 12-to-18-inch-thick stone has a mix of colors on the top and bottom, with a cream- colored center that most people want. “They cut the top and bottom of it off because nobody really wants it,” Heymann says. “So we bought all this throwaway stone. It’s fabulous. It’s got great color and it is relatively inexpensive.” Hmm, back to that vote about the Greenest President?

So, you tell me, Wild Bill. Who is greener?

Once again Al has cored America. No one should be surprised. He and his cronies don't care about anyone but themselves.

GOOD leaders lead by example. That is enough to prove my point about old Algore. He doesn't need to be president of this country.

it doesn't get any better than that...if al's not careful the chinese will start bootlegging carbon credits like they do everything else...then we can all afford to live green...on paper (recycled of course)

Where to begin? First things first.

#1 - Terri, thanks very much for the great info about President Bush - even more reasons to LOVE the guy I voted for. TWICE. I had never heard any of that and that is EXACTLY what I was asking for AND ALL I WAS AKSING FOR - an example of one of those multi-millionaires walking the walk. Outstanding info.

#2 - I do not have my jammed up the backside of either the donkey or the elephant. Its an issues thing with me. On some issues I am quite liberal, on some others I am down right draconian in my conservatism and proud of it.

#3 - I referred to former VP Gore using eight, count em eight disparaging words; I called him a Dirtbag and a lying Earth pig, snake-oil selling, limousine liberal, fat cat, con artist huckster of literally global proportions who spews vile bile about global warming and because I dare ask a single question about Sen. Inhofe's and others on The Hills energy consumption in their homes, some see fit to label me with tlabel me a liberal?

#4 - Whitetop, do you honestly think ANYONE at moveon.org would enjoy reading the words I used to describe their idiot poster child? Nonsense. That’s some mighty fine Rosie O'Donnell kind o' thinkin' there ya got yer self there, Tex.

#5 - and lest you wrong-headedly conclude that I was bad mouthing the Lone Star state, the only state in the Union with the legal right to secede from the US and become their own country… Texas rocks! I love Texas, one of the finest places on Earth.

#6 - LOVE TO YOU ALL. May The good Lord continue to bless and keep you all.

I'll stick up for Inhofe...he's my senator and he doesn't pretend to be green or ask anyone other than gore himself to live by any phony carbon footprint pledge.

Take care your IRS refund, lotto winnings, etc. aren't denominated in carbon offsets instead of dollars.

Shades of George Costanza's "Human Fund" office Christmas gifts.
