DES MOINES, Iowa (UPI) -- Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., told a London newspaper he would act quickly to restore the international reputation of the United States if he becomes president.
In an interview with The Telegraph, McCain said that would include shutting down the terrorist detention camp at Guantanamo Bay and taking quick action on global warming.

I don't think John McCain will close anything except his campaign headquarters.

Sentor McCain...we don't have THAT kind of money and don't need THAT kind of reputation.
You can't "Buy" a reputation that's worth anything to the rest of the world...you have to earn it the right way. Closing Gitmo won't prove anything except maybe save us a few tax dollars...after they execute the enemies so we don't have to feed them the rest of their lives. That might be a plus.

I agree with you Jack. I think McLame should plan a new highrise "detainee" building in Phoenix with saunas, jumbo TVs, daily passes to do as they please in the city, unsupervised and unlimited internet use, "chemistry" sets, and anything they want. :chdance
It's pretty well clear now that Senator McCain is a liberal Democrat regardless of what he chooses to call himself, or which party he chooses to affiliate.
Is it any wonder why the liberal Democratic dominated MSM is pushing Mr. McCain? (ditto Mayor Giuliani and Governor Romney, for precisely the same reasons--getting liberal Democrats in track record guaranteed for 2008 regardless of the party.)
All of Mr. McCain's pandering yap about the war in Iraq has just been shown to be deliberate falsehoods with this news item.
And this makes the power of the internet that much more critical to find, support, and elect that all-around Presidential conservative candidate and other all-around conservative candidates at all levels through the primaries, which we grass roots individual conservatives control (by voting support), and then solidly behind that all-around conservative set of candidates on November, 2008.
With Pelosi pushing her communist anti conservative grass roots, anti-fairness doctrine, anti-Second amendment legislative, pro-hate crimes, pro-illegal immigration, pro- society destroying anti moral agenda hard this next several years come what may as her lead-up to 2008,
... we conservatives may NOT have as good, or at all, a second chance after 2008.

It would appear Senator McCain is interested in running for President of the European Union than capturing the Republican Nomination.
