Welcome to the :gopusa: Precinct! And Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

Wise Words

“You leave out God, and you substitute the devil.” —Winston Churchill

What’s Happening?

If you missed the hooplah of the Plame hearing, all you really missed was an elevation in blood pressure or maybe a bowling ball through the tv? :ugh: It was infuriating, and the biggest waste and a total farce—>and the good news is we get this for two more years. Double :ugh:

New Seating Chart for the New White House Briefing Room–Helen Battle-axThomas is in front row, along with CNN  (http://www.gopusa.com/forum/showthread.php?p=354 956#post354956)

Activists greeted by snowstorm as they start global warming awareness walk :rotflo: :snoman2:

The “madam” who was threatening to sell her “list” can’t sell it, but her lawyers have already sent it to a news agency . . . the plot thickens. The article is HERE (http://www.gopusa.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=1 3)

Words to Use:

nonplus \non-PLUHS\, transitive verb:

To cause to be at a loss as to what to think, say, or do; to confound; to perplex; to bewilder.

Dems and liberals continue to live in a nonplussed state.

:usflag22: "We pray for the military families who mourn the loss of loved ones. We hold them in our hearts—and we honor the memory of every fallen soldier, sailor, airman, Coast Guardsman, and Marine.” . . . —President George W. Bush

God bless our military stationed around the world; and may He expedite their safe delivery home when it is the optimum time! Have a great day everybody! :usflag22:

Why does this White House have trouble attacking the left when they are wrong?

This is the only problem I have with President Bush. A person who does not stand up for what is right will eventually be annihilated.

It's time the president takes a stand on political issues!
It does seem like the Prez has developed a taste for hindquarter doesn't it, PapaJ? What was that in Mexico??? I'm still scratching my head.

Wendy, since I just got back, I didn't know about your father until reading Friday's posts. I am so sorry. I'll be praying for you and your family.

Cool and sunny in my corner of Paradise, might be warm later on.

My mother was from County Galway, Village of Balinaslough (spelled phonetically, I've lost my Gaelic somewhere along the way). We said our prayers in Gaelic and my Da knew when Mother was royally angry...she swore and yelled in Gaelic! It's only been in the last 30 years or so, the Irish developed any kind of cuisine. My mother was a prime example of an Irish cook...awful until we moved to Lousiana. The closest to a seafood meal was tuna salad and the occassional fish we caght in local ponds.

Our first Catholic Church social, at St. Andrews, was a shrimp boil. We were being introduced to the congregation. Mother was at the podium, thanking everyone for the warm welcome, in the cafeteria, and everyone else was seated at long newspaper covered tables. Men came out, with huge steaming vats of shrimp which were poured at every table coving nearly every bit of the surface. My mother left the podium, after being her entertaining self, sat at our table and nearly fainted. She poked Da, "WHY are we being served insects? I thought it was a shrimp dinner?" The shrimp went from the boat to the boilers and had their heads and antenna still on. Until the day she died, my mother wouldn't touch a whole shrimp, didn't even want them in her house!

Moving to Louisiana taught her there were more seasonings than salt, pepper and bacon fat and she became a fabulous cook.

Time to pollute then clean house as best I can...

My mothers last name is Spriggs. I suppose I have a little Irish blood.

No Irish on my side that I know of--but
A Very Happy St. Patrick's Day nonetheless!

and a pot of Irish Creme flavored :coffee: to go with Katy's goodies.
I will be spending my day on my angry ankles and knees cutting fabric for all the bags I have to sew. I had a good sleep last night, so I'm doing better now.
Activists greeted by snowstorm as they start global warming awareness walk
This is becoming a regular pattern. I hope it keeps up--not that we want cold nasty weather, but just to see the looks on their faces when they try to explain wha' happened. As my bro used to say, "nyerk, nyerk!"
I dare say the Sovereign Creator of the universe is also getting a chuckle out of this.
Dems and liberals continue to live in a nonplussed state.
They are nonplussed when the truth is spoken to them. It never lasts very long though, you can see the  rise in their faces and then the name-calling and accusations and obscenities spew forth.
Fundamentalist ecofascists are becoming as dangerous as fundamentalist islamofascists. They have their ideology, their priests and evangelists, and their temples, and the Inquisition is being instituted, and all the infidels who will not convert will suffer the consequences.
The “madam” who was threatening to sell her “list” can’t sell it, but her lawyers have already sent it to a news agency
Poor baby, no $$$$$. I wonder if those lawyers are still HER lawyers.
Back to the wild hacking and slashing party!!
Blessings,
Sewing Susie :usflag22:

Good morning and Happy St. Patrick's Day to all our Irish :members2: :clover:, including those who are Irish only for a day.

Well the :snow: :snoflak:, sleet and freezing :raincloud: have all done their worst and have now left the area leaving behind a big mess to be cleaned up. :mr_yuk: Fortunately, we didn't get a lot of icing on the trees or power lines so as far as I know, no power outages have occurred. Lots of traffic accidents but no fatalities in CT. With Spring right around the corner, this shouldn't stick around too long.

:tails: was glad there was no school yesterday and now it's the weekend. She hates to miss school but she was :ill: yesterday and is still sick today. It's a little more than a cold, but doesn't seem too serious, just has to run its course.

Time to do a bit of wandering. bbl

Hi everyone. :wavey:

I am home from work.

I was busy as well. Work missed me while I was on vacation.

I bought a loaf of sauerkraut rye and a bottle of thousand island dressing for reuben sandwiches tonight.

:woohoo: I just heard the number of counter protestors equaled the anti war protestors. It was on FNC but probably won't be mentioned by the drive by :reporter: . They went on to say there weren't huge numbers of anti war protesters. The permit was for 30,000 but the numbers seemed much less. Could it be because they didn't have any celebs there?

:tails: is feeling better now, so it seems the worst is behind her.

:boy: has been outside playing in the snow by himself most of the day. My little ones are usually the only kids who play outside when it's cold out. Sometimes they can entice their friends to come out, but most of the time they can't. These kids like it, but even if they didn't, I would insist they play outside to get fresh air and run around for excercise. Mine don't have any weight issues, but many of their friends have a couple of extra pounds on them. Gee, I wonder why?

To me the number of protestors appears to be in the one hundreds when they scaned the crowd around 3:30.

For any of you who may listen to southern gospel music, a legend went to be with Jesus today. Roger Bennett, who turned just 48 on the 10th of this month, played piano for many years with the Cathedral Quartet. In recent years, the two remaining singers (Glen Payne & George Younce) of the original quartet had passed away and Roger had gone on to form his own group, Legacy Five.

Roger not only played piano, but wrote incredible songs and even sang the lead on a few. For many years Roger won the pianist of the year award. He was an incredibly talented man.

He had been battling leukemia for a long time now (at least since 1996). While I'm sure he is happy where he is now, his wife and children will miss him dearly.

If you've never heard his music and you like Christian quartet singing, you should drop by a Family Christian store and buy a CD or DVD.

Happy St Patty's Day!

It is also the 37th Anniversary of Mike and I MEETING because of a Rolling Stones Song. If i tell you the name of the song tou will not know whether to :barf: or :rotflo: because it sure doesn't describe me NOW. However it has been "Our Song" for 37 years.

Hint: It stars: "Please Allow me To Introduce Myself..." :yikes:

i know.

Anyway, my bass and drum teacher, Lou, plays in a Classic Rock band and they are gigging tonight in an Irish Pub, so we are going to saddle up the harleys and make an appearance. I hope they don't mind BIKERS!

Maybe they will even do "our song". :)
