American War Hero Franks Retiring After Nearly Four Decades Of Service

WASHINGTON (Talon News) -- After months of speculation, the man who orchestrated the last two wars for the United States has decided the time has come to retire, Department of Defense officials announced on Thursday.
Army Gen. Tommy Franks, the American war hero who led the troops in successful military campaigns in both Afghanistan and Iraq, has been highly respected by members of the Bush administration for his ability to accomplish the tasks of scattering the Taliban in Afghanistan and conducting a challenging regime change in Iraq.
President George W. Bush and Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, who made the official announcement about Franks retiring, have commended the the 57-year-old Texas native for the excellent job he has done.
Franks grew up in Midland, Texas, the same town that President Bush is from and attended the same high school as First Lady Laura Bush, who was a year behind him in school.
