:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:

Are we ready for the weekend? :D We're expecting :snow: here tonight and tomorrow but hopefully not very much.

Joe Lieberman said that he may switch to the Republican Party if the Dems actually try to defund the war in Iraq. I would guess it's mostly bluster but if he did actually do that do you think one of our RINOs would switch to the Dems? It would be sort of a RINO/DINO exchange. :D

Remember the lawmaker in California who tried to pass a bill forbidding parents to spank their children? She got spanked instead. The bill is out and she will try for a more logical bill on abuse, not that there aren't dozens of them on the books already.

Michael Jackson will convert to Islam. :str:

The impeached ex-prez made between $9-10 million from speeches last year and just think of all the women he met. :str: :str:

Check out the forum! There are people out there you've never met!

Words of Wisdom! "I think Hillary Clinton at least realizes now that in the eyes of Hollywood she is a sequel and he [Obama] is a 4,000 screen rollout of a fresh new film that might get them the Palme d'Or. And I think that's got to make her a little freaked out.

Foggy early this morning in my corner of Paradise, but it's clearing and chilly, supposed to get up to the high 70's low 80's.

Child has a job now, starts training on Monday afternoon. It's a place she's wanted to work for a long time, but we didn't have transportation there. Her car is running now (barely) and she's pumped. Her job? She's a poll taker! Yanno, one of those people who call you to take a survey? Yup, one of you might be talking to my darling child! She's always been curious about how honest polls are, and now she gets to see polls up close and personal. The pay is good @ $8 an hour with a raise and bonus in 60 days.

Last nite, my neighbor K called, "I'm in your driveway and have something nice for you, send D out." D said, "OH BOY! I hope it's a puppy!" I almost fainted. You see, K's wonderful dog, Bear, has breast cancer (yup, doggies get that, too), the vet thinks he got it all, but it would be typical of K to get another dog now, and figger, "I'll get D and D a pup , too."

D ran out, was out for two minutes and came in with her hands behind her back. She stood there and finally broke out laffing..."Mama, Dunkin Donuts had a sale on, two boxes for the price of one," and held out a box. Whew, I wouldn't know what to do with another dog, but I sure know what to do with a donut!

JavaJoy, one of the symptoms of fibromyalgia is exhaustion, even when you aren't in pain. I've had days where I could barely drag myself to the bathroom. And yup, sleep IS good medication for pain.

Bizzy day today, but I'll be in and out to do my fair share of polluting.

Osama , , Obama; what’s the difference? Joy Behar is typical of what the brain dead left will see when they go to the polls and see the names of the candidates for the first time. “Obama Ben Laden? I thought he blew himself up in a New York subway train??”

I liked McCain until last week when he said that he would move all of the terrorists from GETMO to Leavenworth.

Michael Jackson will convert to Islam.

Let me guess why.

Maybe his nose fell off again and he needs an excuse to wear a veil.

Good morning everyone. :wavey:

I am :ill: today. I have a bug which has been going around. I don't have an appetite whatsoever. I have already called work and told them I won't be in.

I will be doing my report on Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida instead of Florida East Coast Industries. They are located here in Jacksonville. I need an A business report.

Katy, sorry to hear you are under the weather. Hope you get feeling better soon.

Just wondering, is anyone planning on seeing the movie "Amazing Grace"? If you do see it, I'd like to hear what you thought of it.

At least we get a little sunshine today, but it is still very cold. So much for the 50's they promised us at the beginning of the week!

Everyone have a wonderful day!

Thank you for all your kind wishes yesterday. I AM feeling much better today although I still sing like a :teddy: I went to work yesterday in spite of a vicious sinus headache, all pumped up with decongestants and remidies and herbal teas, and all the Moms along the way plied me with home remedies until I managed to find my way home around 9:30 PM at which time I poured myself into bed .

My day started yesterday very early as I had to take Torey the Dog to the Vet. She had a tumor on her leg which she BIT OFF (bleeding all over my new laminate floors and fake Persian rugs) . Benign, but NASTY. A little stipdic, anesthethic powder and the tumor is gone. I wish that people problems were as easy to handle. Adolphs Meat Tenderizer works great on blood stains, which is good to know in case you ever have to get rid of the evidence.

Posted briefly here, then off to my Bass lesson (play that funky musik, white girl!) and then to teach Ali and Noah the Blues. After their lesson, we had some free time so we plugged in my bass to my battery amp in the back of my car and had a tailgate boogie in the streets of Boca, before proceeding to my next two students who are into Mozart.

Wrote two checks to secure the venue for the Recital, taught Michael and Jonathan, then off to teach two more student when even in my sinus blocked state I was assaulted with a horrible stench of DEATH. Upon my arrival at my last student of the day, I found out that a BODY had just been found on the property next door and had been there aproximately three days. Of course, it hasn't been on the news because NOTHING has been on the news except ANS.

Just wondering, is anyone planning on seeing the movie "Amazing Grace"? If you do see it, I'd like to hear what you thought of it.
Haven't seen it yet, but I hear it's WONDERFUL!

Good morning. The :sunspin: is trying to appear and it's still fairly warm, but Sunday we're supposed to get whacked! :snow: and :cold:

Hope you feel better, Katy, JJ and whoever else is ill but hasn't mentioned it.

“She [Brittany] needs to go wherever Obama bin Laden is hiding, because we can’t find him!” ~ Joy Behar,

I'm sure Joy figured this remark was the epitome of wit and irony. It's like watching a snobby woman walk by dressed to the teeth, ignoring all the hoi polloi around her but when she gets past you see her dress is caught up in the waist of her pantyhose. You can't help but :laff:

Colin, my grandson and my grandson's dad are coming over this morning to take down a big tree that is threatening the house roof. :hit: :otree:

I'm making a big pot of vegetable beef barley soup. Just chopped the cabbage and carrots and tossed in the frozen green beans. Cooked the garlic, green pepper, celery and onions with the meat. I made it with rump roast and is the broth ever good! Yum! Can hardly wait until it's done.

We're all out of bread so either I'll have to make some or possibly some biscuits.

Guess I'd better get cooking!

In for a bit...

yanno, I gotta tell ya.....with the exception of the occassional troll, I really wish y'all were in my neighborhood...can ya see it now?

What food Katy doesn't haul in (and Danny doesn't eat) everybody else does (yes, even AJ's nutria stew), Schultzie lays down the blessing before we dig in and as we finally chow after an inspiring grace from the Rev, Mary-Lou and her students wail hard on their instruments and entertain us. Of course, there are the various and sundry soap boxes set up for those of us who can't sing, dance or play music. Speedy and Scotty snapping pics as candles goes thru everyone's house giving decorator advice (free, of course, since we're all Republicans and gone broke paying taxes).OR and I bring our birds to entertain between MLK's sets, and so on and so forth.

Lieberman might become a Republican...he's one of the few Dems left that care about this country.I like Joe, but I'd trade 10 of him for 1 Zell Miller any day! Let's just hope that Joe gets the full "realization" treatment.

Michael Jackson will convert to Islam. Well, why not? He spends most of his time on his knees anyway ... or maybe "it" will keep him away from little boys! Whatever. I've always thought he wasn't quite right in the bean anyway. Elephant man, Gees.

To all who weren't feeling well...hope you are better. I had my bout yesterday - chills and lightning-strike headache. Better today.

Well, better get done what I couldn't do yesterday. SYL.

Good Afternoon! :wavey:

Been a busy little bee this morning, cleaning bathrooms, straightening, laundry, running errands.
I'm making a big pot of vegetable beef barley soup.
Hey Charie, great minds think alike!! :)
I have a pot of Veggie Soup on the stove, A loaf of Pumpernickel Rye in the bread machine, and a Marmalade Monkey Bread baking in the oven. All in all a productive morning

Joe Lieberman said that he may switch to the Republican Party if the Dems actually try to defund the war in Iraq
I'm a show-me type gal. We shall see
It would be sort of a RINO/DINO exchange. :D

Someone has probably already beat me to the punchline....
This may work out great, after he converts he will have to immediately kill himself because he is a pervert :hilarious:

Feel better Katy! Plenty of rest and liquids, there, now you don't have to go pay a doctor $$ to tell you that.

Well, beepeepeep, Monkey Bread is done - see ya later :wavey:

Good afternoon all!

Hope all that are feeling :ill: will soon feel better.

Love my computer when it's working well, but hate hateputer when it's not. For a little while now it's been doing 'funny' things and it's not making me happy. :( I guess the only good thing about it is that when it acts up, we learn something new in the process of finding the cause and getting it fixed.

Kids spent the night down at Dad's so I am having another mini vacation. :) Woke up this morning thinking it was Saturday and it still feels like it is. Guess it's because the kids aren't here.

Pam, I've made monkey bread but never marmalde monkey bread. Sounds good. Why don't you put the recipe in Member Topics?

Remember that soup I told you about? It is no more. It disappeared right into the big mouths of the 4 tree cutters.

They almost dropped a tree on The Hub. He has a welt on his shoulder and another on his arm. The grandson told me that for $20 he would have dropped it right on him, if I wanted. :rotflo:

I got an email from my illustrious Congressman, Joe Baca, today. Here's a snippet:

I have been working closely with Senator Barbara Boxer on a bill that has been introduced in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. This bill is called Mynisha's Law, named in memory of Mynisha Crenshaw, an 11 year old girl who was shot to death by gang members in San Bernardino in November of 2005.

Mynisha's Law will allow the Attorney General to establish an Interagency Gang Prevention Task Force consisting of representatives from the Department of Justice, the Department of Education, the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services, and the Department of Housing and Urban Development. This Task Force will ultimately work to create a comprehensive gang prevention response, focusing on early childhood intervention, at-risk youth intervention, literacy, employment, and community policing.

I wrote back saying that a huge leap would also be to secure our borders so that drug trafficking and gangs couldn't come over...

BLAH!! Like he would support that.... :ranter:

BTW~ wonder what he calls Boxer (if Sanchez is a "slut")? :laff:

BTW~ wonder what he calls Boxer (if Sanchez is a "slut")? How 'bout "Bimbo"? Wheeeeeew, I'm :fire: today!!!

I was going to watch Brit Hume (love that guy) but Jim Angle is "covering" for him. May watch anyway ... off and on ... Right now he's talking about and showing smarmy remarks by Biden - so I could care less. Biden is nothing but a boob anyway!

Sundance is chirping "come, get me", so I s'pose I'd better pay a little attention to those fine-feathered friends of mine. This is their "quiet" time in their cages, but somehow it doesn't last too long. They're so spoiled!

I'll check back later. Today seems like not too good for "peanut gallery" commentary, so I'm bored. Sorry.

In all modesty, I have to say that's not my nutria recipe, but apros po of your post, someone has been fooling around with the Colonel's original family recipe. (http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2007/02/23/ap/national/mainD8NFMRJG0.shtml)

Hi Ya'll,

Our local talk show host had an interesting interview this morning with a fellow who had worked for two Republican presidents--Reagan and Bush, the elder--and, this is his book:
Wounded Soldier-Healing Warrior Book (http://www.woundedsoldierhe alingwarrior.com/index.html) He lost both legs, below the knees, in the Vietnam war--he also has a ministry site and his ministry is located in the Plano/Dallas area, if I'm not mistaken.

GR, did you or any of the Vietnam vets on here ever hear of the Battle of LongTen? An Australian has written a song about it and they hope to have it made into a movie--they have already been in talks with movie folks about it. Think it was a totally AU. outfit, but I am not sure!!

RW, does the name Annie Jennings mean anything to you? I'm thinking, though, whether you do or not, that Mary-Lou might be interested in talking to her --that is, if ML wants to promote her book(s)--she's big in that kind of PR (radio, that is) and always looking for new things to promote.

I've been busy as a little bee on my online job--I have an employer who thinks he needs to keep me working. BUT, I reckon it's good to keep my :old: mind busy so it doesn't atrophy. Now, before ya'll get smart, it may already have. :laff:

Schultzie, the lady who had the blog on altzheimers lost her mother last night at midnight (NZ time)--just thought I'd tell you. She's handling it very well. She has no siblings and all of her mother's family was gone, so online folks are very important to her--me, too!!

Guess I better get back to my :mouse: killin--not much to talk about--it's hot here--suppose to cool down to the 80s this weekend, I think. :hehe:

Ya'll have a good evening.

The advice of the day is.... get rid of your white walls...add some color.....but not too dark, you will then need more lighting. :p

Most the the states in my area are under winter storm warning, rain, freezing rain, sleet and snow. In my area we could get up to 8", 8" of what is what I fear.

I have one more question:

Which one(s) of those :jacka: sses is going to Iraq and point out the "al-quaida" for our men to shoot at since they want them to only go after "al-quaida" and train policemen and they are going to stick it in with another bill, hoping to get it through that way! I'm sure he needs a lot of prayers about now!!
