:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:
Welcome to our recent new members. C'mon in and tell us a bit about yourself. :chatter:
Harry Reid has hired a Hollywood celebrity lawyer to help him respond to accusations that his big land deal was improper.
Next week the House will vote on a nonbinding resolution to oppose the troops in Iraq. This one will be more likely to go the Democrat's way. :cut_run:
Rev. Ted Haggard has announced that he is completely heterosexual and will now get a degree in psychology.
Greta is going to love the space case. That will keep cable shows buzzing for many months. I'm tired of it already. Oh well.
Former President Bush (41) was given the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award last night. It's given to those who have contributed to the cause of freedom worldwide.
Each day's news is more amazing than the last. Out in the forum you can find threads on mandatory child bearing, a homeowner being forced to remove an American flag, the newfound popularity of the Senate Page program, a gay kiss in a Superbowl ad, and the latest on the proposed Department of Peace. Enjoy. :D
Words of Wisdom! "Senate Republicans are ready to proceed with a full and open debate on the president's strategy in Iraq. But we want a full debate on all the various resolutions, not just one that was handpicked by the Democratic leadership." ~ Sen. Jon Kyl
:jacka: of the Day! "You can run, but you can't hide. We are going to debate Iraq." ~ Harry Reid :ugh:
God Bless our great country. :flag19: May Freedom ever ring!
Cold, and sunny in my corner of Paradise. I just looked out my office window and saw what looked like a duck getting yanked under forcibly....guess our gator is back. We had one 6 years ago, over nine feet, and we couldn't get the authorities out to get rid of it. Finally it ate up everything that moved and left. 4 years ago or so, several people were either killed or injured by rogue gators, so now if ya got one ya don't want, the authorities will come and get it.
Harry Reid is on my black list....he got a license for an admitted pirate, totally illegal. Once a radio pirate is shut down, they may never have a legal one. My industry is up in arms over that sweet little move by Reid.
back to work after I pollute some...

Good morning everyone. :sun1: but only 7 degrees out. Seems the :cold: it is, the more errands I have to run. :aarg:Because the wallpaper didn't come in, Son is back to working on the barn. He's putting in flooring and decided he needs longer nails and straps, so we'll have to go get them. I don't know how they're able to stay outside for hours working out there in this :cold: but I guess they are used to it.
I did go yesterday and cancel the paper that is back ordered and found another paper I liked even better. It has horse scenes and would be just right for my hallway. However as luck would have it, that would have to be back ordered as well. I'm waiting to see how long it will take and see if there is another color available sooner. I like it so much I just might decide to wait for this one.
Harry Reid has hired a Hollywood celebrity lawyer to help him respond to accusations that his big land deal was improper.
If he did nothing wrong, he wouldn't need an attorney. The facts would bear that out, especially with the msm on his side.
Each day's news is more amazing than the last. I expect it will only continue to get worse. :shake:

Good Morning,
Sunny but chilly here. Joe loves it because he can start working in the yard. Always something to do. Yesterday he added a sprinkler to the system to cover the plants in front of the house. The plants that are there look so bedraggled because they were not getting enough water. Hope this helps.
I am so sick of the media attention being given to the diaper wearing Lisa Nowak. To me this is a non story and I am not interested. Every hour, at least six times per hour they mention it. I am sick of listening to her lawyer at the hearing after she was re arrested yesterday. Give it a rest already! anyone else feel this way?
My DIL cooked dinner for me last evening for my Birthday. I got a new blouse, some flowers, and a stack of lottery tickets. We had a really nice time. The best part is not having to cook and not having to clean up. I did clear the table for DIL though. She wouldn't let me load the dishwasher.
Katy, you sound so motivated. Keep it up.
Mary Lou, I meant to mention this before. It sounds like you have a great bunch of students. It's too bad when you some bad apples in the bunch. At least it sounds like you have a great agent and he takes good care of you.
PT at 10:00 today, then I need to go do some shopping. I want to get some Valentines Day cards for my Grands and for guess who (mum's the word, don't tell Joe).
I guess I am not sleeping well at all. I think I am hurting through the night and only think I slept when I really haven't attained deep REM sleep. They tell me that is part of the Fibromyalgia, and then my hip continues to hurt as well. One night I will be so exhausted that I will sleep really good. My short naps help to some degree.
On to my day. BBL.

I haven't been feeling too good for the past few days. The other day, I hurt my lower back and still aches.

Harry Reid can run and duck but he can’t hide behind a fancy lawyer. We will debate his politically empowered land profits.
I don’t see how the dems can let the Republicans make them vote of on a resolution not to cut off funds to the troops when a cutting off the funds bill is already written and loaded in the magazine about two rounds from the disapprove resolution. With a fund cut off bill bulging in Reid’s breast pocket that the dems will have to flip flop to vote for they may not want to go forward with the disapproval resolution. Rather than letting the Republicans get the vote they want the dems may just blame the right for killing the disapproval resolution and go to the cut off bill in a few weeks. They’ll wait until the troops are in the line of fire before they pull the funds so that there will be plenty of casualties to whine about.
Being a student of history and the ancient civilizations I have concluded that only one thing could have caused the Mayas to end their calendar on December 12, 2012. They had spent thousands of hours looking at the sky and could calculate the paths of all of the visible planets and even knew that some comets came by on a predictable schedule. I have concluded that the collapse of the Maya society happened when they discovered a comet that would return to hit the Earth on December 12, 2012. They knew that human life on Earth will be destroyed and those who knew what is going to happen turned away from the sky and became despondent. The Maya leaders had no way of knowing that humanity would be able to survive such an earth shaking and devastating event.
12/12/12 will be the beginning of a new age of human experience if we are prepared to save our species from extinction.

GR, The Bible Code (a highly debated theory that much prophecy is found in the Jewish version of the Old Testament, in Hebraic, by using computer code...Hitler, Nixon, and Kennedy are in there, as are many others) says that it is written that the world will end in 2012.

This from yesterday:And wasn't the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, during Hilter's time, Arafats' uncle? Thought I read that somewhere... Yes. That is the truth. This documentary exposed that little tidbit. Also that the Grand Mufti was a Commissioned Colonel in the Third Reich and was in charge of organizing a revolt against the British in the Palestinian Mandate. This documentary pulled no punches. Fatah, Hamas, Hezbolah, the Muslim Borherhood, Al Qaeda, and the Taliban are ALL the red-headed stepchildren of this foul alliance. Whoever dubbed the movement "IslamoFASCISM" hit the nail right on the head.
Ugh. First it was Mark Foley (who I loved), Then Ted Haggerd (whom I respected) then a Female Astronaut (whom I admired). That's IT! I am NEVER going to trust another HUMAN again. :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf: :barf:

Morning, Ya'll,
Sounds like the weather is still the top topic--I listened to a very interesting discussion about "climate change" last night and the climatologist who was talking said, although he hated to bash a former top official of the US, that algore's book is a bunch of "hogwash"--(my word, can't remember the word he used). He did say it was atrocious.
I'd be happy to post the link to his site, which I think some of you would find very interesting--it also has some news on it about the UN treaty, or whatever it was, on "global warming".
However, I don't know where to post the link since it's only a website and not a news article--if someone wants to advise me, I'll be happy to oblige!
EDITED TO ADD: The site has already been posted here (http://www.gopusa.com/forum/showthread.php?p=345 955#post345955) by someone else, so I reckon no reply is necessary!

Oooh, I just despise that - that "person". He's such a hypocrit that he has it printed on his suit sleeves.
Laura Ingraham is going after the border guards issue again. One of her guests is telling her that our government actually flew a government plane down to Mexico and picked up the drug dealer and brought him back here to testify against the BP agents. I'm just beside myself with this. The more I hear, the more disappointed and outright disgusted I am with our government. There's supposed to be an "appeal" being prepared...but there is NO TRANSCRIPT YET ... hence you CANNOT prepare an appeal. The transcript of the trial is an absolute MUST! This is outrageous. There's also a claim (by a congressman on Laura's show - sorry I didn't get his name) but he claims that the Justice Dept. lied to him about certain facts the DOJ withheld and denied and kept from the jury. He told Laura that he's going to ask for the immediate resignation of that DOJ official, plus the woman who supposedly "investigated" the incident.
And Yes, I'm sick of hearing about the astronut that went after another woman over a man. Good grief. How nuts is that to jeopardize your whole career over a man in that manner. Sorry menfolks on here, but that's ridiculous. I say this because I feel pretty sure you all would agree. What man would want a nutcase like that anyway? You'd probably be afraid to go to sleep!!!

With kids, rarely a day goes by without something happening. Today it was :boy:'s turn. The school bus hit a couple of bumps, he bounced off the seat and hit his head. Our heads bleed profusely when cut and he was really scared to see all that blood all over his jacket, on his hand, etc. Fortunately, the edges of the cut are together, so he won't need stitches to close up his wound. In today's world, because he bled, all kinds of accident reports have to be filed and I had to make calls telling the school and bus company the extent of his injury and what actions I was taking.
Much ado about not much, but I guess I could get a lawyer and sue for pain, suffering, fright, or something. :wink1:

Howdy & good afternoon all - I'm hoping you can help me figure this one out. Remember I work at a primarily Democrat nonprofit. Anyway, Monday and yesterday I was asked about what Tony Dungy said after the Super Bowl and if I was offended.
Here's what he said - “I’m proud... to be the first African-American coach to win [the Super Bowl], but again, more than anything...[Chicago Bears head coach] Lovie Smith and I are not only African-American but also Christian coaches, showing you can do it the Lord’s way. And we’re more proud of that.” —Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy
The woman who asked me is Jewish and she said that religion has nothing to do with sports and if she was a Christian she would be offended by that remark implying Jesus would condone such a violent sport!:football:
I told her he was talking about his personal coaching style and the fact that they try to play a "clean" game with integrity. She couldn't accept that and said that things like that should never be said in the public square.
Can anyone help me understand where she's coming from or should I just chalk it up to crazy left wing talk? I would appreciate any answers to the public square comment as I think we all (Christians, Jews, Muslims, etc.) have a right to state our beliefs in public or private. Sometimes it just gets too crazy around here!:ne_nau: Thanks!

I heard one of the parrots say this,"the heart wants what the heart wants"!
And the brain is supposed to tell you how to behave properly and not act like a crazy person! Obviously, however, many people fail to put the brain in gear before they act.
She couldn't accept that and said that things like that should never be said in the public square.
I don't see why not. I agree with you, Terry, that people have a right to state their religious beliefs in public. Liberals in general seem to have a problem with that, unless the beliefs lean decidedly to the left.

Terry, there are 2 things you can do.
1) Next time the woman comes near you, start screaming that she's a stalker and she means to do you harm. That should get her attention (probably everyone else's, too, including the cop driving by in his squad car). When everyone comes running just ask for a glass of water to steady you down and then explain it was a case of mistaken identity.
2) Next time she gets near you, hoist your leg as high as you can and kick her right in the butt. Tell her you sometimes suffer from leg spasms, when she gets up off the floor. You're very sorry, but you just can't help it.
Bet she stays away from you in the future.

Terry, you obviously work with a lunatic that is so unhappy with herself that she has to criticize everything to make it seem worse than her own miserable little life.
The coaches of both teams try to set an example about how to live and how to play. Unlike Charles Barkley, these men don't mind being role models. And from what I can tell, they are both good role models.
They do have players who are not Chrisitian, but many of their players are and are not afraid to openly say they believe. With these teams, you did not see them staying out all night or being caught with women or drugs in their hotel rooms.
The coaches tried their best to present teams who can be respected by all Christians. Maybe half-time was not good, but I thought the game was well-played.
Frankly if religious beliefs should never be mentioned in the public square, you shouldn't know that the woman you work with is Jewish. Tell her you find the fact that she is Jewish offensive and not to bring it up again. Hopefully she will be egregiously offended. Then you can tell her that you are equally offended when she says that Christians ought to keep their faith private.

Good Morning GOP USA!! :f_coffee: is ready in the lounge :coffee: :coffeeputer:
8.8 degrees in my snow-covered part of the Mitten this morning. Got to work yesterday, and one of the gals had called in stuck. Ja, it's winter here. The sun has been shining, since the wind is out of the north. That helps a bit since it has "moved" back north to the point where it really feels warm. The roads are slowly melting off and improving.
The weather channel showed film from Pulaski, NY last evening--boy have they gotten the Lake Effect.
DD brought the Granddoggie yesterday, so once again the house is filled with the pitter-patter of little doggie feet :cloud9:
can anyone help me understand where she's coming from or should I just chalk it up to crazy left wing talk?
It's a well-known fact that whatever God says, the enemy  will say just the opposite. God says, Go and tell the world. The enemy says, keep it to yourself. God says, Let your light so shine before men. The enemy says, don't shine it in public. Of course these folk are going to shriek and scream about any open expression of genuine Christian faith. But of course they don't object to the public expression of any other religion, including phony Christianity.
When I worked at the Bridal Shop, there was one lady that made it clear that she was VERY offended by the Christian radio station I listened to. She asked me how I could stand to listen to that stuff. Poor thing, she was so puzzled when I said "Honey, that's manna to a hungry soul." At the same time, she was very nice to me and we got along fine.
It's just intolerant-left talk--let her talk, and if the Lord gives you a response, consisting of the Truth, spoken in love (agape), then respond, but we should never return offense for offense--that's forbidden by the Lord.
if she was a Christian she would be offended by that remark implying Jesus would condone such a violent sport!
People like that love to pick and pick about all these little things--Well, if Jesus was here He would do this, and not do that...but if you try to really get to the heart of the Gospel Message, they want none of that. That's what we have to do, nonetheless.
Time to get some breakfast, and get my day started.
Blessings,
Sewing Susie :usflag22:
