:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:

Hillary's in Iowa, Pelosi and Murtha are in Pakistan and Jon Cary's running down America at the World Economic Forum. What a sorry collection. :str:

A few thousand old hippies, led by Hanoi Jane, gathered in cities across the country to protest the war. Just think of the Medicare bills. :angst:

Barbara Bush has been taking care of her hubby as he recuperates from hip replacement surgery. She says she's getting tired of being called Nurse Rachet. :laff:

An escaped prisoner who stole 3 vehicles including country singer Crystal Gayle's tour bus has finally been recaptured.

Prince Charles and Camilla are visiting the US. They had to fly commercial in order to reduce their "carbon footprint." The prince is Great Britain's Al Gore. :ugh:

A 62 year old Arizona granny has been sentenced to prison for running drugs to support her bingo habit. She had 214 pounds of pot in the trunk. :yikes:

Stay warm and get ready for our :gopusa: Touch of Trivia. It's on the way.

Words of Wisdom! "One half of the country believes that Bush is crusading against the Evil One while the other half of the country believes Bush is the Evil One." ~ Jonathan Franzen, author :notworthy:

:jacka: of the Day! "When we walk away from global warming, Kyoto, when we are irresponsibly slow in moving toward AIDS in Africa, when we don't advance and live up to our own rhetoric and standards, we set a terrible message of duplicity and hypocrisy. So we have a crisis of confidence in the Middle East _ in the world, really. I've never seen our country as isolated, as much as a sort of international pariah for a number of reasons as it is today." ~ John Kerry, who will never, never be president. :excited:

God Bless our great country. :flag19: May Freedom ever ring!

Not hard to figure out why the Queen hasn't stepped down and made him King.

I don't suppose these America bashers would ever consider going abroad and telling people what's good about America and all the good things we do for other countries. No, I didn't think so either. :angst:

Anybody ever watch a movie called "Red Dawn"? It starred Patrick Swayze. It seems America was invaded from the south by the hispanics and from the north by the Russkies. Of course, you know where the hispanics came across ... but, get this, the Russkies came in from Alaska!

If we're not careful, this will be what happens to America. Not necessarily by those two particular invaders ... which I think are strange bedfellows to say the least ... but by the muslim hordes and the hispanics. In either case, it looks like the hispanics (and our ignorant do-gooder political pimps) are trying to make their part of it come true, doesn't it?

Good morning!

Prince Charles and Camilla
Okay, these people live in castles! I'd hate to see how much it costs the people of Great Britain to heat them (because even Charles doesn't have enough hot air to do the job).

Instead whining incessantly about the U.S. not signing the Kyoto Protocol, the liberals should be asking why, if it's so vital, didn't President Bill Clinton ever submit it the Senate for ratification?

John Kerry, who will never, never be president
Thank God!

Goodnight everyone, it's time for me to go to bed. I've watched and read to much news tonight, and ranted, and raved all my high blood pressure can stand for one day. It's time for a nice, hot cup of tea, and my cushy bed. If I'm able get up in time to watch Fox News Sunday in the morning, I'm sure I'll be right here as soon as it's over. I hope ya'll have a good nights sleep, and that everyone who's been under the weather feels better in the morning.

Good morning everyone. :wavey:

I place maple pecan danishies in the lounge.

This morning, I will be going to church before I go to work. I will be leaving for work as soon I get out of church. We are extremely busy right now.

I only have a small portion to read for Tuesday's lecture in chapter 3.

Danny, I understand you were great last night while I sleeping. I give you five stars and a chocolate lovers delight cake.

Colds is not fun. I haven't been :ill: in a long time, and I don't have time to be :ill: either.

Well, now I feel better whether I get any chocolate lover's delight or not. Sounds like a sinful recipe! Maybe one bite won't be enough.

This morning my anger is over the limit...I read that 7 of our military have been killed by a roadside bomb...this morning I say..enough is enough...these things have to cease...after so many years the roadside bomb and the car bomb are still being used with impunity....it is disgusting that nothing has been done to stop either of these from happening...why are these cars still on the road? Let those stupid people over there walk! And why are our men driving on the roadside? I SAY SOMEONE MUST SMARTEN UP...AFTER SEVERAL YEARS SOMETHING SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ....

Speed, to answer your question.

A chocolate lovers delight cake is chocolate cake, iced in fudge, with drizzle chocolate along the top edges, five dollops of fudge icing for decoration and whole strawberries dipped in strawberry glaze on top.

I have request either a chocolate lovers delight or a chocolate avalaunch cake when I turn a year older this week.

Yum! Good cake, too!

In what year did the United States actually execute someone after found guilty of treason?

I can't find the answer. Apparently it was very popular in England until it was outlawed in 1998. But the English sure had some interesting means of dealing with treasonous citizens. Being drawn and quartered was most popular for males while females were generally burned at the stake. Occasionally some lucky souls were killed by a nice quick beheading. But the unluckiest of all were boiled alive. Yuck!

It's above 50 degrees for 2 days in a row! Above 65 means it's early summer.

Or maybe it's raining instead of snowing and it's not freezing.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/5.gif How do you spend Easter? Do you go to church? Wear new duds? Does the family come over? Do you go out for brunch?

Most Easters I go to church and then have Sunday dinner (late lunch) with family. No new duds in years.

Good morning all

Enjoying 'normal' winter weather - cold nights, mostly sunny and reasonabe temps during the day. Anyway, if the sun is going to impose 'climate change' on us, there isn't much I could do about it.

When we walk away from global warming, Kyoto, when we are irresponsibly slow in moving toward AIDS in Africa, when we don't advance and live up to our own rhetoric and standards, we set a terrible message of duplicity and hypocrisy. So we have a crisis of confidence in the Middle East _ in the world, really. I've never seen our country as isolated, as much as a sort of international pariah for a number of reasons as it is today." ~ John Kerry, who will never, never be president.

We can certainly be thankful for the last phrase in that quote!

Walk away from the Kyota treaty? Seems it was the previous administration that made a big deal in public about Kyoto, then never submitted it to the senate for ratification because they knew it would be an economic disaster.

Slow in moving toward AIDS in Africa? I don't think so. The bush administration led the way on this several years ago.

The 'terrible message' being delivered is that we, America, will never stick with doing the right thing and it is being delivered by Big John himself.

Could it be that when Americans go abroad and talk like this, that is the real reason why America is not trusted or thought highly of? I don't suppose these America bashers would ever consider going abroad and telling people what's good about America and all the good things we do for other countries. No, I didn't think so either

They go abroad to say what they don't have the guts to say at home. Yes, that should be very confidence inspiring amoung those who depend on us to protect them from terrorism, even though they don't like to admit it.

No. But after living in Florida for a little while, I believe everyone eventually experiences sinus trouble of some kind or another.

I believe the last person executed in Britain was William Joyce.

In the U.S. there have been a few cases where the accused were convicted for treason, but most were pardoned or commuted and spared of execution. The last execution I could find dates back to 1859, and his name was John Brown.

Well, I better shut my trap and get my butt to work.

My memory fails me but I think we had a soldier who faced a firing squad, but I don't remember his name or exactly when or for what exactly. There was a TV movie about it. I will go look it up and see if I can find it.

The method is also the supreme punishment or disciplinary means employed by courts martial for crimes such as cowardice, desertion or mutiny. One such execution was that of Private Eddie Slovik by the U.S. Army in 1945. Slovik was the first U.S. soldier executed for desertion since the American Civil War.

The prince is Great Britain's Al Gore.

Why did you say that??:barf: I just imagined him giving Camilla a Gore kiss in public. :barf:

The Prince, of course is much like Algore in that he wants every one else to ride their bikes so he can go faster in his Bentley. But it was pressure from his opponents that got him out of his private jet and into first class with the common-er man.

Is Jon Carry getting a commission for using the words – irresponsibly, duplicity and hypocrisy? He has to be getting something from someone for using irresponsibly over and over and over.

My wife is out in Cali-porno-a for a week working and yesterday she was thinking about going to a movie but all of the movies are anti-American. One is a sympathetic look at the Japanese perspective on WWII, another is about how much Iraqis hate the oppressive American occupiers of their peacefully country and there was another similar one so she gave up. She thought that it was funny that the Hollywood trash will be the first under the sword of the Islamo Horde if these movies help us lose our planet to radical islamo-fascism.

even Charles doesn't have enough hot air to do the job

And Camilla is so cold she has to have a small nuclear generator - - - to keep her from freezing the ground around her.

[quote]why, if it's so vital, didn't President Bill Clinton ever submit it the Senate for ratification?[/quote

Didn’t Bill sign that on his way out the door and leave it as a parting gift for President Bush to deal with.

I had a bird feed outside but the birds kept eating the seeds and flying away before I could see them so I brought the feeder inside and hung it near a window. Now I can see the little birds as they sit on the windowsill making gestures through the glass. They pretend that their cold out there in the ice and rub their little bellies as if they are hungry but if they were really hungry they would try to steal some food from the cats like the bird I found the big white cat eating yesterday.

Thanks JJ. I forgot it was Sunday today even though I knew it was Saturday yesterday. Good thing I transferred the Trivia to the forum. You'd have had a heckuva time getting it out of my hotmail account.

Okay, these people live in castles! I'd hate to see how much it costs the people of Great Britain to heat them (because even Charles doesn't have enough hot air to do the job).

Charles' mom and dad aren't bad looking. How did he get to look that way? One of the funniest pictures I ever saw was of him and some of his friends coming out of a temple in Japan wearing white robes, sashes and those really tall hats and someone had stolen their shoes. :rotflo: He looked even more befuddled than usual.

Did anyone see the movie, "Queen"? I thought it might be worth a peek. I've always had a sneaking admiration for Queen Elizabeth. I remember when she was crowned in 1949.

I remember a liberal 3 handkerchief movie was made about Pvt. Slovik. I didn't see it because I knew it had a leftwing slant. I get enough liberal goo smeared all over me everytime I watch the news, thankyouverymuch!

Just think, if the commies can get us all to never punish traitors, to protest before, during and after every war, keep pushing class warfare, denigrating Christianity, encouraging our people to sit on their butts with their hands out waiting for the government to drop goodies in them then we will soon be a truly happy society, just like the USSR, Cuba, North Korea and North Vietnam and China. AND FRANCE! Where it all started. Leave it to the French. I'm sure they thought if they could get everyone else to support them they could sit in the cafes longer and drink wine.

I'm putting China into the mix because they started off with killing a few million of their people and sticking square pegs in round holes but seem to be coming around to more of a capitalist society, although I haven't forgotten Tienanman (sp) Square.

brought the feeder inside and hung it near a window. Now I can see the little birds as they sit on the windowsill making gestures through the glass. They pretend that their cold out there in the ice and rub their little bellies as if they are hungry but if they were really hungry they would try to steal some food from the cats like the bird I found the big white cat eating yesterday.

:rotflo: :hilarious: GR, you are such a sicko!! Better watch out! Those little birdies will be pooping all over your prototype.

Jun Kury should be forced to stay in the Alps in Switzerland until his big fat mouth freezes. What is it with these liberal creeps? As soon as they escape out of the 3 mile limit their jaws unhinge like :snake: s and they spew all their venom about their country and their president (whether they like it or not) to anyone (especially hostiles) who will listen to them.

Hey :jackass: es!!! The enemy is listening!!!

I despise every last one of them.

We had a light dusting of :snow: last night but the :sunspin: is coming out now so it won't last long except in the shade.

Time to look through the forum and see if anything has offended me there. I'm just in the mood to be offended right now. It's hard to tell what that might be however, so be warned!

Snowdrops are the first flowers to appear in February to let me know spring is on it's way even if snow is on the ground. The next sign I look for is the daffodils and jonquils, the leaf buds on the trees, and the first robin to appear.

I finally got a chance to use my Hammacher-Schlemmer compact snow and ice grips (http://www.hammacher.com/publish/65484.asp?promo=home page) today at church, where at 9AM the parking lot was like a Zamboni had just finished applying a perfect 1/8" coating of clear ice......except I left them at home. Our pastor's prayer for a sun warm enough to melt the ice seemed to work. By 10AM just about all the ice had melted. :)

A chocolate lovers delight cake is chocolate cake, iced in fudge, with drizzle chocolate along the top edges, five dollops of fudge icing for decoration and whole strawberries dipped in strawberry glaze on top.
Good God I4, that thing would put you in a chocolate-induced coma!

Terri I love the Nurse Ratchet thing. Love Barbara Bush too, so it's no surprise that she said it.

Do you have bird feeders outside? What kind of birds dine there? - Oh boy, don't get me started. This is a steep lot so the back deck is elevated about 20' with big white oaks close by. I have them decorated like Christmas trees with sunflower, suet and seed cake feeders and the list of visitors is way too long to list here. The usual suspects are Downey, Hairy, Red-headed, Red-breasted, Golden-fronted and Pileated woodpeckers as well as Yellow-breasted sapsucker, White-breasted Nuthatch and Brown Creeper. Chickadee, Titmouse, Cardinal, Goldfinch, Purple finch and house finch. There's more, but those are the regulars. With apologies to the squeamish, I have a scope-sighted .22 cal. Benjiman Franklin pellet rifle that will shoot through a brick wall that is a strong deterrant to squirrels. Left to their own devices, tree rats will tear down every bird feeder I have. Someday a thousand years from now, archeologists will be poking around the wooded gulch below this lot and say, "Eureka Harvey, we've found the great squirrel burial ground!"

Good afternoon, well I didn't make it up in time to watch FNS this morning, I'll have to catch it at 6pm on FNC. I see that the gov. of Kansas is getting the "darling" treatment by the MSM. I'd post a link, but I'm not allowed yet, would one of ya'll help me out and put the link in for me please? The thing about the article that frosted my cookies is that they totally left out her sickening connections to "Tiller the baby killer"! She's been covering his "6" since she became the gov. of Kan.. The article does gush on about how this:jacka: gov. has the support of the "moderate" republicans in Kan.. On to something much more pleasent.

I forgot to mention something last night, my DH, the wonderful man that he is(sometimes anyhow), brought home a dozen roses for me! No special occasion, he just does it sometimes.

O.k., I'm going to wonder around for a while, and take care of a few things around the house.
Oh shoot, before I take off I've got a ???, is anyone else having trouble accessing areas of the "User CP"? I can't access the user profile, or options sections. I don't know if it's blocked because I'm still a newbe or what? I sent a message to the webmaster a few days ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

My memory fails me but I think we had a soldier who faced a firing squad, but I don't remember his name or exactly when or for what exactly. There was a TV movie about it. I will go look it up and see if I can find it.

 there was an American soldier executed by firing squad. The soldier was Pvt Eddie Slovick. He was charged with desertion in the face of the enemy. He was convicted by a court-marital and sentenced to be shot by a firing squad right after the Battle of the Bulge was over. He appealed to General Eisenhower and then to President Roosevelt, who refused to commute the sentence.

On another topic, The :jacka: are going to be hopping mad. It seems that our troops along with a few Iraqis soldiers have sent 250 terrorists to meet their 72 virgins who look like Helen Thomas  http://smileys.smileycentra l.com/cat/new/8_22/10_9_211.gif http://smileys.smileycentra l.com/cat/new/8_22/10_9_211.gif

Yes...''some'' I don't put away.
http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/2.gif Have you been reading seed catalogs or have you bought seeds?

No, no seeds. I have a great website if anyone is interested in seeds. It's local here, and pretty interesting.. http://www.idigmygarden.com (http://www.idigmygarden.com /) ...IF I plant anything, it will be from sets.

I send my Mother a gift. Sometimes the TF brings home something funny.
Hehehe...he sometimes sends diamonds. It's not a set holiday, or set in stone, that we do something romantic. Romance happens everytime we talk... roflol. (sorry...we have reached that age, where ''sugary sweet nothings'' mean little...we've been there and done that.)
A good ol hug and a big smootch...that's called a VALENTINE.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/6.gif Do you have a spring allergy? Ah-chooooo!
March is a bad time...Ahhhhhhhh-choooooooooo!

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/7.gif Do you have a riding or push mower? Or an old fashioned rotary push mower?

We have a 1947 VAC CASE Tractor, with an additional implement, a ''belly mower'' under and between the front tires and the big back tires. (tricycle). It is hydrolic. This is the BIG BIG ol ORANGE tractor you've probably seen in antique pictures.

And, then we have a pull mower, that will go behind it or any of the other tractors, and it is called a BUSH HOG for bigger stuff. Cuts trees down the size of my wrist.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/8.gif What are your favorite :daisy: :f_rose: Spring flowers? Terri, we need cybersmell emoticons? Can ya help? I'll go buy a cybernostril if ya can.

I like the yaller jonquils, or Easter Flowers as we call them here. They will poke up through snow, or before the last freeze....tough little boogers tho...they always make it.
http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/9.gif Do you have bird feeders outside? What kind of birds dine there?

I do hummingbirds, ... little buzzers.
I have quit doing the little yellow/black ones that eat upside down, I have a CAT named ROSE...and I've never seen her hunt birds, but, I'm not too sure she wouldnt. She narrows her eyes and stares in drooling anticipation of the catch...and I don't think it's fair to the birds...there is plenty for them to eat.

And, I quit feeding the Blue Jays and Red Cardinals...they are so damn mean, I told them to go eat somewhere else.
I was scolding Rose for scaring them, so they were dropping feathers all over the yard...heck it isn't Rose, they fight amongst themselves...and feathers fly :str:

Now, I need to go and read your answers, and dig around in the forums. It's a busy day here, and colder than a :witch:'s T__. Im not going outside if I don't have to.

Catch ya on the turnaround.

1. Do you have all your Christmas decorations put away?

Yes - I always take them down right after Epiphany.

2. Have you been reading seed catalogs or have you bought seeds?

Oh, yeahhhh... already have my order in for tomato plants to be shipped to me in May: yellow, orange, red, green and purple varieties. Pink ones come from my Uncle - Estler's Mortgage Lifters. Yummy!! And I already have ordered and received my squash, cucumber and cantaloupe seeds. Beans, Swiss Chard, turnip, beet and corn seeds will be ordered soon. Now I am working out where I want to put new flower beds and what I want in them. You'd never know I've been bit by the gardening bug, would you

3. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day in any way? Tell us about it.

We don't really make much of a deal about it; we exchange cards and get a cute gag gift for each other.

4. I imagine most of us, especially those of us in the northern climes are looking forward to Spring. What's the sure sign to you that Spring has arrived?

There's something different in the air - the smell of earth warming up; the tulips and hyacinths are poking their heads up and the days are definitely longer. That's the great side of spring. The not-so-great side is that I have to start making up fly spray stuff for the horse. :mr_yuk:

5. How do you spend Easter? Do you go to church? Wear new duds? Does the family come over? Do you go out for brunch?

We don't know what we are going to be doing other than church. Now that it's just the 2 of us here it's almost not worth bothering doing a big dinner or anything unless my brother and/or my son come out.

6. Do you have a spring allergy? Ah-chooooo!

Nope, thank goodness!

7. Do you have a riding or push mower? Or an old fashioned rotary push mower?

Mike has both, but he's going to have to get a new push mower. There goes my tax refund!

8. What are your favorite Spring flowers? Terri, we need cybersmell emoticons? Can ya help? I'll go buy a cybernostril if ya can.

I love them all! What's not to love? You stick 'em in the ground once and they reward you for several years after by announcing rather loudly that winter is indeed over! :D

9. Do you have bird feeders outside? What kind of birds dine there?

 In the last few days we've seen Mourning Doves, Blue Jays, Cardinals, Starlings, White-Crowned Sparrows, Song Sparrows, Field Sparrows, White-Throated Sparrows and Lapland Longspurs. Except for the one day when we really only saw one bird... a Sharpshinned Hawk who normally hangs around our neighbor's house.

Great trivia!

As soon as I heard sKerry's inane treason I think I turned 15 shades of red and started screaming at the TV that that (insert cussword of choice here) idiot should be in prison for treason. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. That's why I love this Forum, I don't feel so all alone.

Since I was so sick on Thanksgiving that I couldn't eat, we are having roast turkey and stuffing today. The house is starting to smell very yummy!

My cold or whatever it was never really went away and today it's back with a vengeance. :ugh: I feel for all of you-uns who are also under the weather. It's no fun at all! So I am getting ready to fix a cup of Theraflu and bundle up on the couch. Everyone please have a wonderful day, regardless of the weather!

Do you have all your Christmas decorations put away?**************

Yep

Have you been reading seed catalogs or have you bought seeds?***********

Nope, I used to have a wonderful garden in Iowa, but when we moved here to Florida, the someday ex told me, "I don't want any flowers junking up the place." So, the place is pretty barren.

Do you celebrate Valentine's Day in any way? Tell us about it.***********

I give the girls flowers and candy. Ex did zero, except once he brought me a big box of old, crushed chcolates and flowers that looked like they came out the florist's dumpster....

I imagine most of us, especially those of us in the northern climes are lookiing forward to Spring. What's the sure sign to you that Spring has arrived?************ **

The snowbirds, feathered and human leave! We get all the pretty birds here, that fly north in the spring. But we do get the mockingbirds and blue jays that stay. AND when the burrowing owls start kicking their burrows clean of winter's dirt, we know that in a few weeks, we will see clutches of fuzzy little baby owls.

How do you spend Easter? Do you go to church? Wear new duds? Does the family come over? Do you go out for brunch?**********

I make baskets of candy for the girls and for my friend Maria next door. I have never admitted that I give her the basket of candy, tho, it's my anonymous treat to her for all the good things she does for me and mine.

Yup, but I don't sneeze, I break out in hives.

Do you have a riding or push mower? Or an old fashioned rotary push mower?************

Neither, ex took it with him (mowers on a boat?) so I either have a lawn guy do it or my neighbor takes pity on me and mows it for me

What are your favorite Spring flowers? Terri, we need cybersmell emoticons? Can ya help? I'll go buy a cybernostril if ya can.**********

Flowers bloom all year round here. But I miss the violets and tulips and lilacs from up north.

Do you have bird feeders outside? What kind of birds dine there?**********

No bird feeders, there is food all year round for birds. I love my long necked, long legged cranes, ibis, and other critters that either dive into the canal for fish, or strut majestically along the lawn, pecking at insects in the grass.

Good trivia, Charie.

Spent most of the weekend in bed. Fibro seems to have slipped into the background where it normally is, but we have a cold wet front coming in, so the back and hip hurts now! But it's really little in comparison to the fibro.

Kid went to a gumbo festival with her sister and friends and brought back a bowl of seafood gumbo with a nice big crawfish on top, for me. Twas good, but I like her gumbo better. I'm still tired, so I think we're just gonna forage for dinner.

Later, y'all....

Are you reading seed catalogs? You bet I am, but the question is will I add anything new this year????
Bill, I am also checking out the gun catalogs, I'm shopping for a handgun, I'm going to finally apply for my permit to carry. Now if I can just find a indoor range nearby where I can try a few out, I won't buy without a "test drive" first.

Do you have bird feeders outside? What kind of birds feed there? We are loaded with gold finches, house finches, doves, blue birds, sparrows, cardnials. We have 4 of the large thistle seed bags that see so much action they have to be refilled almost every day. That's how many finches feed here. We also have a breeding pair of redtail hawks that visit our place. When they show up everyone else scatters for a while. The male redtail visited yesterday afternoon, he sat on the bow of our boat surveying his domain for close to 30 minutes.
Does anyone else get dive bombed by their birds when your feeders get low? Ours will come peck at the front windows!

Trivia time:

1. Do you have all your Christmas decorations put away?

No -- the garland is still up on the bannister.

2. Have you been reading seed catalogs or have you bought seeds?

No, but last year (in Wisconsin) the growing season was particularly bad, perhaps Charie can confirm, so I am really jonesing for good veggies.

3. Do you celebrate Valentine's Day in any way? Tell us about it.

Nope.

4. I imagine most of us, especially those of us in the northern climes are lookiing forward to Spring. What's the sure sign to you that Spring has arrived?

The air smells different. Manure I think it is.

5. How do you spend Easter? Do you go to church? Wear new duds? Does the family come over? Do you go out for brunch?

Church in the morning. Sometimes we see my wife's relatives in Illinois.

6. Do you have a spring allergy? Ah-chooooo!

No allaergies to anything. Wife is allergic to everything.

7. Do you have a riding or push mower? Or an old fashioned rotary push mower?

Both. I live on 5 acres, mow a couple and the push mower is when I lived on a city lot. I still use it for close-in work.

8. What are your favorite Spring flowers? Terri, we need cybersmell emoticons? Can ya help? I'll go buy a cybernostril if ya can.

No clue. They're all wild flowers mostly. Tulips are nice because they come up in winter literally.

9. Do you have bird feeders outside? What kind of birds dine there?

One large 7 quart feeder and a couple of tubes, and a humming bird feeder. Here is the list:

Blue jays
cardinals
finches
morning doves
red bellied woodpeckers
creepers
sparrows
juncos
rose breasted grossbeaks
black capped chicadees
redwing blackbirds (rare)
nuthatches
goldfinches
baltimore orioles
ruby throated hummers

(any or all -- depending on season of course -- can be there on any given day) I'm sort of a wild bird freak...

No kidding, Dunc. And with all the veggies freezing in California this year, I have already bought seeds and will start them in peat pots this week and then put them out in my flower garden when the ground warms up.

I'm going to put a sign up that it's a Victory Garden and the only flowers in it will be marigolds because they help fight off the nasties.

Paying $4 per pound for hard almost green tomatoes isn't my favorite thing to do and a dollar fifty cuke makes me puke! :laff:

Howdy Folks! :wavey:

I'm stuffed.

Great day!

Worship service was wonderful, things just seemed to FLOW like water, (I love it when the Holy Spirit does all the work, and I just have to be there!) :)

We had all-U-can eat mountain oysters, home fries, corn bread and Sweet Ice-Tea for lunch.

I put a big ole dent in things!!

Voters meeting this afternoon, which went very well, it seems like everybody is on the same page, has the same goals,... Who could ask for more.

Now I'm tired, but time for trivia...

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/1.gif Do you have all your Christmas :ctree: decorations put away?

Yep. This year we got good plastic totes and it worked great.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/2.gif Have you been reading seed catalogs or have you bought seeds?

I could spend a fortune on seeds. Some have arrived, others on the way.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/3.gif Do you celebrate :1luvu: Valentine's Day in any way? Tell us about it.

I do a special sermon for St. Valentine, but I dont really celebrate the holiday.

The redbuds bloom, and the Morells start popping!

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/5.gif How do you spend Easter? Do you go to church? Wear new duds? Does the family come over? Do you go out for brunch?

It's a pretty big event around here! :D

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/6.gif Do you have a spring allergy? Ah-chooooo!

Not really. Goldenrod, but that isn't till fall.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/7.gif Do you have a riding or push mower? Or an old fashioned rotary push mower?

Yep. And a tractor with a bush hog for the big stuff.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/8.gif What are your favorite :daisy: :f_rose: Spring flowers?

Honeysuckle, and Tulips.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/9.gif Do you have bird feeders outside? What kind of birds dine there?

Lots. I love birds. Hummers, songbirds, we have several red tailed hawks, an occasional bald eagle, lots of golden eagles.

They dont hit the feeders, but the prairie dogs, and finches keep them nice and plump.

Tis 7:30.

I just finished yet another fine meal, and I am going to bed.

Yep! Bed,... at 7:30.

And ya know what!???

I don't feel the least little bit guilty!

Y'All have a great night.

I love the new emoticons too!

I finished painting the living room today (twenty foot ceilings! :yikes:) I did it with a roller on a pole and it looks good. everything's ready for the floor guys tomorrow. Now i have to get some sleep so I can get up very early.

Torey the Dog got into a rumble with a rat-terrier yesterday, and , unfortunately caused injury. Mike went over to pay the vet bill ($450) and comfort the little dog and its owner. The dog's "parents" were so impressed that they brought over fresh baked cookies. They were truly SHOCKED that anyone would offer to pay a vet bill (when it was THEIR dog that was running around unleashed) that they couldn't comprehend it. They didn't want to accept the check, but Mike insisted.

I hope the little dog will be OK. Torey loves people, but does not suffer aggressive little dogs lightly (sigh).

A quick trip through the forum and then I'm in bed with a very scary novel. :yikes: It's about a guy who has out of body experiences and one time he tries to come back to his body and someone has murdered him. Then the fun begins! :angst:

Evening, Ya'll--well, almost goodnight time, I guess. Always a day late and a dollar short, I reckon.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/1.gif Do you have all your Christmas :ctree: decorations put away? :D

Didn't put any out so none to put away.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/2.gif Have you been reading seed catalogs or have you bought seeds?

I've seen those but never used one--we just go into a seed store here and buy what we want, if we are so as a mind to--I'm not.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/3.gif Do you celebrate :1luvu: Valentine's Day in any way? Tell us about it. :heartbeat:

What is Spring? It's either cold or hot here--hardly ever anything in between.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/5.gif How do you spend Easter? Do you go to church? Wear new duds? Does the family come over? Do you go out for brunch?

Never wore new duds on easter and always used to go to church--now, I do it online due to not having transportation and/or being ambulatory enough to get up and down stairs.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/6.gif Do you have a spring allergy? Ah-chooooo!

No more than any other time of the year.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/7.gif Do you have a riding or push mower? Or an old fashioned rotary push mower?

NO, my number two son pays someone to take care of my yard needs.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/8.gif What are your favorite :daisy: :f_rose: Spring flowers? Terri, we need cybersmell emoticons? Can ya help? I'll go buy a cybernostril if ya can.

I like them all and we really do have flowers here year around.

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/9.gif Do you have bird feeders outside? What kind of birds dine there?

NO, but this area is known as one of the capitals for bird watchers--we have lots of wild-life refuges in the area and people do that year around from all over the world.

Had the best dinner--fajitas with broccoli, carrots and a little bit of potato and refried beans. Scrumptious meat!!

Ya'll have a good night--except for you two wierd ladies who are going to read about some guy having an out of body experience and being found he was murdered--ya'll are strange--you know that, don't you? :laff:

Lady Navy Vet asked ---

Oh shoot, before I take off I've got a ???, is anyone else having trouble accessing areas of the "User CP"? I can't access the user profile, or options sections. I don't know if it's blocked because I'm still a newbe or what? I sent a message to the webmaster a few days ago, but I haven't heard anything back yet.
I can't access my user profile or options either. I e-mailed the forum administrator about three weeks ago. I got a reply within a day. I was told ---

The software will automatically give you more privileges after you've participated more.

To be fair, at the time I sent the e-mail, I had not posted anything for five (5) months! :yikes: The last couple of weeks, I've been posting more, but have not been able to access my Edit Profile or Edit Avatar.

Can any one help us understand?

Thanks.
