Defense Secretary Robert Gates said following his two-day visit to Afghanistan that commanders said they would need more troops to combat the projected springtime increase in Taliban and insurgent attacks.

My bet is that they are right in their assessment and request, and that Gen. David P. and Sect. Gates will soon agree with them. And as a result, Congress will be forced to go along with their 81/0 choice for the job....

They'll be getting some real soon, the "Charlie Company,1st Battalion, 118 Infantry Mech., SCNG(Gaffney, SC), will be deploying this Thursday. The South Carolina Patriot Guard is planning to provide a deployment escort. I will have the full 411 for anyone interested later this afternoon. I'll also be posting this in the prayer thread.
