WASHINGTON (UPI) -- President George W. Bush will outline a series of "benchmarks" -- goals the Iraqi government will be expected to meet -- The New York Times reported.

The president is expected to address the nation this week with a new Iraq policy. The goals would be intended to ease sectarian tensions and stabilize the country politically and economically, senior administration officials told the newspaper.

One so-called benchmark would involve more Sunnis in the political process. I hope they don't set up an 'affirmative action' type plan for the Sunni's or Baathists like we have here for blacks and other minorities. We know what a fiasco those programs have turned out to be.

The oil revenues should be distributed to every Iraqi regardless of who he/she is. That should help unify and benefit all of them.

Whatever is decided, it must be decided soon before P'lousy pulls the plug on funding for the war.
