TORONTO (Reuters) - After you kill off President George W. Bush in a fictional film, what do you do? How about make a deal.
Gabriel Range, the British producer/director/creator of "Death of a President," the fictional documentary that sight unseen became one of the most talked-about movies of the Toronto Film Festival, has sold U.S. distribution rights to Newmarket Films, which handled Mel Gibson's equally provocative movie "The Passion of the Christ."
Newmarket, which reportedly paid $1 million for the film, is expected to give "President" a wide release within the next few months. It will air on Britain's Channel 4 next month.

Common sense says this should be illegal! :madgo:

I thought it WAS illegal to make threats against the President. Once again, people are playing into the hands of the revisionists and those who believe our country would be better off in the hands of those who actually hate our country.

"We portrayed the horror of assassination. ... I don't think anyone would get the idea of assassinating Bush from this film," Range said.
He should have just stopped at "I dont think."

I for one will not go to any theater that shows this film and the ones that do I will not ever go to that theater again. That is traitorous to this country. How dare this person make a film like that. Yes, someone will get the idea to shoot the President from this film - how stupid does this person think people are. He is definitely one of those liberals and I think he should be banned from this country.

Let those that have any notion of voting for a Dem see this movie or at least know that they can see it. Maybe those people will then think twice about who they cast their vote for. Clearly the Dems would love to see Bush dead. Even the fantabulous hunk of an actor, Kevin Costner (appearing at the Toronto Film Festival), said that the idea behind this movie is disgusting....he's a liberal by the way.......

Someone needs to follow Kerry, Kennedy, Pelosi and some of the other Dims around with a movie camera when it opens and catch their expressions of joy when the assasination scene is played to show the American public their true colors.

Even with as much as I disliked Clinton, I would never think something like this was funny. This is beyond sick. I know there are those out there who will buy this and watch it with glee.. If any movie theater shows this film in your home town, you should put them on notice that you will never patronize their theater again. Then you should call your local secret service representative and voice your complaint. Tell them you are upset that anyone should be showing this movie. It may give some wacko the extra nudge to attempt this sort of thing. God forbid they use a gun and blame all of us gun owners for the actions of one nut case. It ceases to be funny when they super impose the President's face on the murdered actor.

The mere Topic of the Movie is an abomination. Unfortunately, I cannot see it any less than I would have seen it normally. I will, however, write to any Theater or TV channel that shows it and I will go out of my way to avoid any products of advertisers when it is on TV. Problem here is that I will have to rely on the people on this list to tell me who the Advertisers are.

With so much hatred in this country..... Republicans vs. Democrats, Conservatives vs. Liberals, whites vs. blacks, us vs. them........ we really don't need enemies..... as someone very smart once said "We have met the enemy and he is us".
Our "friends" made this movie????? My heart hurts.

I would like to raise enough money to make a movie called "The Torture, Death and Execution of Gabriel Range, the British Producer."

Things like this don't have to be shown in commercial theaters, they are played on University Campuses...
I already said the same thing another poster said in this thread, "As much as I have disliked ANY president, I have NEVER wished their assasination."
HORRIBLE!!
BTW~ We all know that media does NOT influence behavior!!! (Music, film, TV.... according to the libs.) That is why billions are spent on advertizing...cuz it doesn't work.... /sarc

well bass, isn't that exactly what they did when brady got himself shot in pres. reagan's company??? they blamed every legal gun owner and tried to take away legally owned guns. the did manage to take away larger cap magazines and wanted to limit them even further down to 3 rounds per mag.
