A popular North Idaho mobile home park has been sold to a private commercial real estate developer.

TRESTLE CREEK, IDAHO -- Another well known North Idaho paradise has been bought out by big business. The Idaho Country Resort at Trestle creek on Lake Pend Oreille was sold to a private investor earlier this year and the owners and resident vacationers must be out by November 1.

Trestle Creek has long offered front row access to Lake Pend Oreille and the Monarch mountains. Residents and neighbors believe the scenic view and relatively low asking price are what drew developers to their area. Residents of the mobile home park have been enjoying the summer vacation spot for well over a decade with some owners renting out their trailers at an average price of 250 dollars per month.Source (http://www.kxly.com/index.php?sect_rank= 1&section_id=559&story_id=4579)

A long while back, I remember visiting No. Idaho and residents told me they expect the No. Idaho housing market to boom in the near future and swarms of people would be migrating here from all over. They weren't too far off.

:laff: It's like the S.F. Bay Area of the 70's and 80's
all over again
The only thing missing are young Hippies :barf:

Big business. The LAST thing N Idaho needs is big business.

So, may I assume we will see what's his name from CHiPs selling off lots??

On the other hand, this is capitalism...the owner has a right to sell if/when they want.

I do feel sorry for the residents though.

Had not heard this and I'm less than 10 miles away as the crow flies. Can't say I'm surprised just disappointed.

Like many places that are receiving an influx of new residents, some assemilate well and some try and recreate that which they left.

Politics are interesting in Bonner Co.

  and when it gets too crowded,
it’s just time for another RoadTrip, this one
along the Oregon trail.

You must be near our Cabin by Hackney Field
and see the same high-dollar projects that we’ve
been watching, the area’s booming.

Same thing across the border in N. Kootenai CO.

It's a shame a place that nice has to be developed at all. It's too nice to destroy.
