Mexican flag flies over US Post Office. Is this a first?

Finally, a mainstream report. The LA Times published this (http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-protest27aug27,1,241 1117.story?coll=la-headlines-california&ctrack=1&cset=true), by Ted Rohrlich. Not very long, but at least neutral.

Most say the protest was an S.O.S. event with some Minutemen present. Counter-protestor organization Answer LA gives full credit to Minutemen, probably in error. Not clear if this was the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps or the Minuteman Project (Jim Gilchrist and friends). Answer LA's report is here (http://answerla.org/)

They say counter protestors "led chants until the bigots had no choice but to crawl away in defeat." Worth reading to see the author's litrary style.

One report says Postal employees took down the US flag at the end of the day. Counter protestors then ran a Mexican flag up the vacated pole. ALIPAC has a differnt account, saying counter protestors took the US flag down.

IMHO, the counter protestors are foolish to use the Mexican flag as a symbol of their cause. Instead of asking for amnesty, they seem to be Reconquitas (http://www.barnesreview.org /The__Reconquista_-Mexico_s_Dre/the__reconquista_-mexico_s_dre.html).

If they are, they are not wise to show it. Of course, they might just be hotheads, grabbing the nearest symbol, however inappropriate.

The media is being openly challenged for not covering these sorts of incidents.

I dont' know for sure what prompted the SOS to choose Maywood, CA for a protest when there are bigger cities with the same or similar problems being over run by illegals but this incident is definitely another chink in the armor of the illegal immigrants cause toward amnesty.
