"We see the legal profession bringing to this issue the kind of effect it's had on consumer product safety," said Mike Hethmon of the Immigration Reform Law Institute, a Washington D.C.-based group backing the efforts.

I don't expect much of this. If they can win, great. But difficult legally and impact of victory might not be broad.

I think litigation to recover damages could be a significant tool in cutting down on the magnet for illegal migration.
Once trial lawyers start smelling blood, then suits could really take off.
Law firms come in all sizes with equal opportunity for all.
