An Iranian warship fired on a Romanian oil rig off the coast of Iran on Tuesday, and troops from the vessel boarded and occupied the rig, the rig’s owner said.

At the Romanian Embassy in Tehran, political consul Yujin Chira confirmed the incident, but provided few details.. "Some forces opened fire. That an incident has happened is true. We have no details or the reason yet,” he said.

The Iranians first fired into the air and then fired at the Orizont rig, said Radu Petrescu, spokesman for the private Romanian company GSP. Half an hour later, troops from the ship boarded and occupied the rig, and the company lost contact with the 26 crew members shortly afterward.Source (http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3294382,00.html)

Let me see! First Romania will file a formal compaint with Imadingyjad who will ignore them. :seehearspeak: Then they will file a complaint with the United Nitwits who will tell the bully to stop and then ignore Romania. :pop: Bush will "condemn" the siezure :kick: and the :jacka: s will condemn Bush for wanting to start another war. :pfft: When all is said and done, Iran will have another oil well because the world is to :sorry: wimpy to take it back or do something to Iran.

It surely seems that Iran wants to become the World's Public Enemy No. 1, and the UN will be the last to say so. Perhaps it is cloose to the time when the Western Coallition of Nations should get their ducks together and 'confront' Iran with a 'cease-and-desist' order, to be followed by a plan (already in the works) of a simultaneous bombing of each and every military asset which is already known to the USAF. This will let them know that we know more about their assets than they thought possible. Of course, this decision is up to the POTUS and his advisors, but it's fast becomming a matter of grave importance; we cannot wait forever......
p.s.-- My source for 'already in the works' comment; Retired Lt.Gen. Tom Macinnerny, a regular on Fox News Talk Shows.

Wise words indded, Nitsuard. Sadly, if we take such a step we'll pretty much be on our own. I firmly believe the Western Alliance as we once knew it is dead. The UN is utterly useless, a large hole into which we pour far too many American tax dollars.

Iran is out of control, a rogue nation bent on destruction born of fanatical devotion to the Islamic lie. The only way to defeat it is either by force of arms or from within. That later option seems less and less likely.

I wonder how many more incidents until the world realizes that the problem is Islam itself?

The writing is on the wall, but most are too busy watching TV to read them...

Whoops this looks like a big conflict brewing, I
don’t think the UN will yield #1 without a boring
longwinded debate followed by an endless stream
of Resolutions and then topped of with
Sanctions against Romania.

USE OF SANCTIONS UNDER CHAPTER VII

OF THE UN CHARTER

(Updated January 2006)

Under Article 41 of the UN Charter, the Security Council may call upon Member States to apply measures not involving the use of armed force in order to maintain or restore international peace and security. Such measures are commonly referred to as sanctions.Source (http://www.un.org/News/ossg/sanction.htm)

It's nearing time to dust off the 52's, and as Maximus (Gladiator) so aptly put, "UNLEASH HELL".

The Commodore & his Lady unto the Forum: greetings.

Rather appropriate that the Iranians should receive a dosage of Vitamin B 52. They should remember their heritage: the only reason they are allowed to exist is because they made friends with the Jews centuries ago.

Doesn't the phrase

MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN

mean something or sound familiar?
