Charie, you can get a jump drive fairly cheaply these days. Go to Office Depot and their employee will probably even show you how to use it. At least the ones in Avon would. Much easier to use than CD burner.

Good morning everyone. :wavey:
I place chocolate chip :pancake: in the lounge.
I slept great despite my right knee itching. I woke up and rubbed some itch creme. I wish I had a digital camera to show you.
An A.A.S. degree wouldn't transfer to an upper level college. I am 32 years old and I will be 35 when I complete my degree. Plus, this degree will open a lot of doors.

Well, I ain't celebrating at 5:30 a.m., but you all know what I mean!
It's been a rocky year for me health wise, and I hope I can see a golden anniversary or better, but I believe that is up to a greater power than me.! :upside:
Gotta go feed the animals... and I am kind of hungry too! Hope you all have a pleasant weekend!

The DNC ad ends with Bill rising in triumph and now he is kissing a man who has stepped to the right of the liberal horde? Even worse; Bill said that a timetable to get out of Iraq is insanity. Next old Bill will be patty young girls on the head.
Plame and Wilson held a press conference to substantiate their hatred of the Bush administration.
I watched it a couple of times and still wonder if this might not be a totally political attempt to hurt President Bush and help the dems just before the mid-term elections?? I suppose that fearing for the safety of their kids while these two parade around in public going to every dem fund raiser that will have them, the kids are in an undisclosed location. BTW; why did the CIA fire Plame, ending her career? In that the CIA wanted to hurt the Bush team you would think that they would let her keep her desk job.
three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery and cowardice
All of these are covered by the one holy grail of “”Political Correctness””
The dems want freedom – not to speak your mind in public when it offends a protected group – not to be armed in the face of growing danger on our streets – but the freedom for a school teacher to have sex with an animal in the back of the class room.
About midnight I looked out back to see if our resident Raccoons had found the scraps I put out for them and noticed that one of them was eating but the other one seemed very nervous. Then one of the cats came up and the nervous one ran away and I saw that it had a hurt leg. I guess I should put their food further from the house but I like to watch them from the back door. I had three raccoons as a kid and they were terrible pets. They get into anything they want to get into and they want to get into everything.

GR, I can still just hardly wait for Fitzgerald to be subpoened. Of course if a gaggle of the CIA guys would be subpoened, a bunch of them might go to jail for perjury, and at least help clear a bunch of the Clintonistas out of there.
I'm still trying to figure out why the CIA is cozy with the Dems and the Secret Service is so loathed by the Clintons and the leftwing of the Dems. Hillary wanted them all at least 20 feet away from her and didn't want to see their (ugly) faces. Could it be that the SS is incorruptible? I'd sure like to think of something in Washington being incorruptible.
My husband's nephew was in the SS many years ago and helped guard Mrs. Kissinger. I haven't even heard of him in quite a few years so don't know if he's still in the Service.
I do believe I'm going to have to go back to bed. My head is trying to nod and thoughts are creaking through like snails and the yawns never stop. Not sure why I arose so early. No skunk walked through our yard.
See ya later.

Good Morning GOPUSA! :f_coffee: Behold, I bring good tidings of great joe....
Hot weekend here in the Mitten. The air conditioners are running here and at Mom and Dad's. It is nice having the folks here--Mom and I have always gotten along splendidly, and Hubby doesn't have to worry about his Dad wandering off and getting lost. It is hard for Hubby going thru this with his Dad. He needs prayer--everything is hard to cope with when you are :depressed: and I know he is. I went thru it with my Daddy years ago so I know what it's like. (My Daddy would be 99 if he were here now.)
I wish I had a digital camera to show you.
I have some pictures of the crater in Sonny-boy's leg from his accident last year. Some of the kids at school didn't believe him when he told them about it so he had me take a pic with my cell phone cam.
Prayers for your knee to heal quickly.
They get into anything they want to get into and they want to get into everything.
I knew it, I knew it, I JUST KNEW IT--raccoons are democrats!!! :hehe:
I'm not going to debate theology here but I'm not holding my breath on the Rapture. I have been doing some studying and writing on the subject. I have a working title for it: Holy Cow! Just remember brothers and sisters, God is good, even when times are not. Christians in NK and Moslem countries and Viet Nam and China and other places like that are already in great tribulation, and they will still tell you God is good. They need prayer too.
Wilson and Plame are just making complete idiots of themselves, howling about the lawbreaking Bush Admin. and the breach of security and putting our nation in jeopardy. No law was broken, no security was breached, and our nation will be in a lot more jeopardy if the http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a179/susiesbusyhands/teenierDumDum.jpg get back into power.
Time to get those hands busy--have a wonderful weekend all of you--and :grouphug: s to those who are going thru rough times. We have all had those and we are here for you.
Blessings,
Sewing Susie

Golllleeeeee! Somehow I didn't make it back to bed.
Clicked on LaShawn Barber's blog which I do periodically and she had an outstanding post. Then I started looking her up in Dogpile and couldn't believe the hatred directed at her on liberal blogs. Here's a sample:
La Shawn Barber. All this time, and she?s still trying to work out the secret to getting her Nazi party application accepted. ...
www.thepoorman.net/2006/07/04/springtime-for-hitle
Immediately, if you're for individuality rather than the all-inclusive "diversity" or "multiculturalism" you're a Nazi with these people. Of course unless you're a "moron" which she's called by these people also.
What's the matter with her? She doesn't even act black. Whatever their preconceived notion of "black" is. It's disgusting. As soon as any black person, well educated, well spoken and doesn't bop around in a ghetto, go on welfare or be a sports or entertainment figure, the left can't figure out what the he[[ they are. Then there's the "black" person who's also a conservative and/or Republican. All of a sudden they're not black and it's safe to call them Aunt Jemima or Uncle Tom. And NAZI. And moron, etc.
I have to tell you, I don't get it. I'll never understand the "liberal" (read closed) mind if I live to be a thousand. Commonsense totally disappears and apparently isn't missed.

Charie, there is no way in the world that this will make it to trial. This is a political hit job that will be dropped if they can keep it in the courts until the elections. The liberal horde will gladly pay the legal expenses so that Plame won’t have to spend her book money. If these two are as dishonest as they seem to me they might even make money. I doubt that they are going to give any over payments back to contributors to this effort.
I wonder if I could pull of such a scam on the liberal horde? Maybe my crippled raccoon could go after one of W’s dogs for vet bills so that the poor coon can get her leg fixed.
I put a gator joke in humor.

It feels like a corned beef and cabbage day. Yeah, cb&c and cornbread made thusly:
Preheat oven to 425 and pour 1/3 cup of oil in cast iron skillet used for this purpose only. In mixing bowl: 1 cup flour, 1 cup meal, 4 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. sugar, 1 egg, 1 cup buttermilk, the oil after thoroughly coating inside of skillet (you can preheat the skillet or not - if it's properly seasoned it's not necessary) If the batter in the bowl is too thick, add water, it'll just cook out of the cornbread. Mix by hand with a spoon and don't worry if it's got a few lumps. If you use a mixer or such you'll end up with a frisbee. 424 for 25 minutes.
Out of buttermilk. Off to WalMart before the crowds hit. Have a good weekend all. About Val and Joe, it's always a little embarrassing to watch shallow people make fools of themselves. So Mz. Plame is the Democrat's new "Mother Sheehan" secret weapon? Whoopie.

OH YEAH!!!!!! That is SO excellent! Did JA really say that? He was a PROPHET, fer heaven sakes! It's a perfect description of "Political Correctness"! Who woulda thunk that by merely tweaking the language, we could be enslaved and robbed of our liberties, but there you go!
I saw Bibi Neanyahu on FOX this morning and he said something VERY cogent to the effect:
This is not a war between Israel and Lebanon.
It is not a war between the Israelis and the Palistinians.
It is not a war between Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria & Iran, against the Jews.
To put it bluntly , it is a war between radical Islam and Western Civilization. It is a Clash of Civilizations. And whatever happens, WE CAN'T LOSE THIS ONE.
Kind of like what I've been saying all along, sort of.

Just a few things of note to comment on. It looks like we have a 30 % chance of rain. The clouds are there if they will just come a little bit further South. We need it so badly.
Happy Anniversary Kid Colt and Marcia.
Katy, I have never heard of an AA degree where the credits don't transfer toward a Bachelor's Degree. The reason people choose a Junior College over University is because the tuition is cheaper, and also because they can go to school for the first two years closer to home. The degree itself doesn't really transfer but the credits do and you don't have to repeat those classes.
I have a question about the Plame/Wilson lawsuit. I didn't think anyone could sue a sitting President or Vice President. Also, I didn't know Plame was fired from her job. Guess I missed it. Anyone who gives them money to pay for their Lawyers is crazy. They need to find a lawyer who will take it on contingency. Problem is there probably isn't one out there who will because they know it is non winable, frivolous and petty.
Mary Lou and Mike, you two have a good time on vacation. Be careful and return to us Safe and sound.

Already getting hot here, and sun is beating down. Hubby is out working on the biiiiig bus and Dad is mowing the lawn. They need prayers for lovely cool breezes to waft on them. The biiiiig bus is coming along again now that Dad and Mom are settled in--Sonny-boy and I have been installing foamboard insulation along the sides below the window line, and where Hubby installed window blanks over the outside. He also bought the interior paneling and ceiling yesterday--plain white for the walls (sounds horrible but he said it was the only stuff flexible enough for the curves) and beaded wood for the ceiling, primed white and ready to paint. We had decided that we didn't want plain old white for the walls, but the stuff we had in mind was gone. There won't be a lot of wall showing anyway, by the time everything is in, and if there are any big blank spots I bet I can figure something to fill them.
All this time, and she's still trying to work out the secret to getting her Nazi party application accepted.
Just remember folks, "NAZI" stands for National SOCIALIST Party. Let's just keep reminding ourselves and the left about who the Socialists are.
Happy Anniversary Kid Colt and Marcia!

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!
(I said that 'cause I usually say that...it really ain't.) It's going to be hotter than the Devil's pitchfork today (again!). I have to water the "zero" maintenance yard twice a day, so Sandman kicked my butt outta bed pretty early again this morning. Got the watering done. Got my birdies meds administered and fed them. What excitement! Can hardly contain myself!
I really just :pop: in to thank stormy, cs and katy and one other I forgot (DannyDude :tounge: ), for words of encouragement. It seems when I have the afore-mentioned type of problems, all I want to do is sleep. Watching the news just adds to the feeling of futility.
So, that's why I'm not joining in the camaradarie lately. I need to get some emotions worked through. BTW, I appreciate those who have offered their prayers. I can ALWAYS USE THOSE!
SYL - y'all have a great day - stay cool - and M-L/Mike, enjoy yourselves, stay safe and return happy and refreshed.
Congrats to KC and Marcie! May you have many, many more.

GraniteRiver-I've been meaning to tell you that your signature is 100% accurate! Great words...
I had a terrific time at Stone Valley with Hubby's family. So, I was needlessly worrying about the political wrangling for nothin'. Usually, I whip up a good debate but I wanted some R&R. Like I told Danny earlier, we were unaware of what was going on the past few days and then when I got home and put on FOX News, WHAM. This is some BIG stuff. History in the making. Wow, our wonderful Whas had two monumental terms, chock-full of formidable and life-altering decisions. I commend him on having a constitution of his own, like no other. In this day and age, with the Liberal dialog and attack-machine, a normal person could've lost his/her mind. Thankfully, we have a strong man for CIC!
I mean it... This is some real-life you-know-what! Reagan had it RIGHT- We need "Star Wars", for sure!
Anyway, the "family" was very engaging this year, and they were rather diplomatic and weak with their political banter. In fact, one die-hard Lib, whom I like otherwise, volunteered the following statement: "The Democrats don't have a clue." She went on to say she doesn't trust any politicians. It's funny though, how she was a self-professed "ardent Kerry supporter" back during the campaign of '04. There is no excuse to be so oblivious to which party is acting so incredulous, greedy and downright volatile.
I enjoyed myself immensely though. Everyone loved Hailey, and being surrounded by the huge lake, tall trees, beautiful, lush trees, shrubs, flowers, boating, hiking, wildflower fields, gorgeous mountains, adorable cabins, nightly campfires, wine-tasting, grilling and lots of fabulous foods, fresh fruits and veggies, jewelry-making, and clean mountain air... well, let's just say I was in heaven.
I will bid you a sweet farewell for this afternoon, as little Hailey is now awake. I guess my post wasn't so short, huh?
Talk to you wonderful friends very soon.
Keep up the good fight. Republicans MUST win!! Always!!

Jazz up the cornbread any way that turns you on, but it doesn't hurt to start with the best basic cornbread recipe that God ever created. Oh, and about that cast iron "cornbread only" skillet? Never wash it. Wipe it out with a paper towel. After a while it takes on a mirror-like glaze inside and all you gotta do is invert it and the CB drops out.
Can't believe WalMart didn't have corned beef briskets. Stopped at Price Cutter and got the onliest one they had. What's going on here? Corned beef brisket is one the staples of life. Got it going in there in the crock pot in a can of chicken broth, a can of beef consumme', some water, a quartered onion and quartered head of cabbage. Along with the cornbread, you got something-or-other like larripen. (Southern for tasty)

I missed the whole thing - - now I’m angry.
I guess it’s time for me to give up on trying to promote my energy dependence alleviation ideas in a way that will enhance the comfort level of my kids and just promote the idea in a way that will help the country and the planet. I think we have the technology to reduce our dependence on oil by 25% in as little as five years without drilling any new wells. I also believe that we can and will have to develop ways to take electricity directly from the atmosphere. Every watt of electrical power that we generate comes from the Earth’s electromagnetic field. Because the Earth is surrounded by a powerful electrical field there is more energy available than we could ever use and using electricity only move electrons from one place to the other anyway so the power isn’t gone after we use it. Ben Franklin discovered the most important secret in the universe and we have yet to fully use the power that is all around us. Billions of watts of electrical power move from clouds to the ground without us getting any good from it. Just announcing that our government is going to develop a national lighting collection program would cause a drop in oil prices. Developing such a system will end our dependence on petroleum for ground transportation. At the same time we should seriously consider developing a vast static electricity collection system. Anything that moves makes what we thing of as static electricity so when the wind blows static electricity is available. If we want to move forward after we are totally out of oil and natural gas we will have to figure out how to collect this energy.

Finished the sewing order for the NY designer. Whew! Mom's machine that she loaned me broke down but was still able to do a straight stitch so I managed. Hubby was working on the biiiiig bus and felt something "pop" in his left shoulder, and now he's hurting. Typical guy, he won't do anything about it for several days--he wants to wait and see. You're sure you didn't mean flux capacitor (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flux_capacitor)? I thought all stainless steel, gull winged DeLoreans were powered with one.;)
Later......
But since I don't have a DeLorean, I'd love to get one of those nanocarbon tub capacitors for my Miata. Even at 34 MPG, I'm feeling the pinch and staying home a lot more.
I'd still like that flux capacator thing too, if you can get one. Maybe I could go back to living in the Eisenhower administration for a while.

Charie, it’ll take a few days to get the ball rolling on all of this. The first long range electric vehicles will use battery packs that can be changed in minutes at a service station. The capacitors will take a little longer to develop.
As for the prototype, I have it back. The guy that had it never did anything so I went and got it. I’ll take it to another guy the first of the month. He is a far left wing liberal but he does good work so I’ll let his political rants pass – for the time being.
