:flag17: Welcome to :gopusa:
Happy Friday!
I'm going to let all of you do the war updates today. :chatter:
Valerie Plame Wilson, Ambassador Joseph Wilson and Their Counsel to Hold News Conference Announcing Lawsuit against I. Lewis ''Scooter'' Libby, Vice-President Cheney and Karl Rove
Bring it on! I don't believe this will happen but I would love to see Plame/Wilson on the stand. Let's roll!
Comedian Red Buttons has died at age 87. :tombstone:
Ok, maybe it's just me but this makes no sense at all. Walmart will no longer prosecute anyone caught shoplifting merchandise with a value of less than $25. Sooooo....isn't that an open invitation to load up on stuff a little at a time? Hello! Anyone home? :light:
Pete Coors was arrested for a DUI in May. Still rather have a drunk Pete Coors than the :moonbat: Salazar. :angst:
Dennis Hastert has been hospitalized for a bacterial skin infection. Definitely not something to fool around with. :yikes:
All the alphabet channels ignored the story that the Dems are using flag covered coffins in campaign ads to politicize the war. :smash:
John Murtha is going to receive the Edmund S. Muskie award. Now what could that be? Hmmm....Oh! I know. Must be one of these. :surrender:
Words of Wisdom: "Should a man go to prison for "obstructing" an investigation into a crime that was not committed?" ~ Investor's Business Daily Staff writing about Scooter Libby :notworthy: Read the rest in Editorials on Politics.
In a Quagmire of Stupidity! “Critics in both parties say the administration has been so focused on Iraq and Afghanistan, it has failed to pay enough attention to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. What role has the U.S. played? Today, U.S. diplomat David Welch arrived in Israel, but critics say, too late, 17 days after the first Israeli soldier was captured. And Condoleezza Rice has not been to Israel or the Palestinian territories since last November." ~ Andrea Mitchell, NBC (It's Bush's fault)

What part of stuck on stupid do you not understand, Andrea? First you and your idiot buddies in the Congress and the Drive by Media scream and holler because the President spends all of his attention over the Israeli-Palestinian question to the detriment of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Now that things have flared up in Israel you scream and holler, because we are not doing enough to help them. What do you want President Bush to do? Pull out the troops in Iraq and send to help the Israelis? I think that the Israelis have things well in hand and don’t need any help from us.
So why don’t you and your friends shut your treasonous mouths and move to Red China or North Korea and leave the rest of us alone? Oh btw, you can that loser husband of yours with you when you go.

What's the significance of that date? Just curious.
I'm pretty sure it is simply to avoid a Democrat from re-taking the White House, especially if it is Hellory Clinton! :D

I'm not sure, but wouldn't that be an insult? Winning an Edmund S. Muskie award? Couldn't they just call it the "Loser Award?" If I get an award, I certainly want it named after someone who at least had a modicum of popularity! Maybe next year, he'll win the Al Gore Award! What a guy! space NOT!
So why don’t you and your friends shut your treasonous mouths and move to Red China or North Korea and leave the rest of us alone?
I'd be willing to help pay for a houseboat in the Sea of Japan! At least until the nutkase in NK quits testing his missiles! But I will have to buy the insurance plan that covers missiles! :yikes:

I place blueberry muffins in the lounge.
I am working 7-4. I need to ask for a tuition rembursement form.
Thank you Stan for your suggestion. I am leaning towards A.A.S. I am not going to pursue an university or other upper level college. Technical certificate looks very tempting.

Happy Friday!!
from last night..
snippy little loan officer refused to give me a personal loan, told me a credit card or home equity line of credit would take 30 days, and basically told me to take a hike
Know that feeling Mary-Lou, some customer service these days.
I had a similar experience this vacation. I have kept a little personal account at CATO (NC based clothier) for 26 years. Never kept a balance, spent lots of cash in the stores over the years.
Took a purchase up to the counter and presented the card, so as not to use up vacation pocket $$. A reasonably nice young lady says "Sorry Mrs. --, this account is no good" , stunned I assure her I have had this little account for 26 years and always outstanding or so CATO has said, She informed me that my card was a really old ( thanks) # and the company closed the account but if you want to reapply that will be fine and in a few weeks they will contact you for confirmation and credit check.
Long story shorter. I paid with cash - How embarassing for me. Informed the young lady that CATO has lost a long time, good customer, and left.
I also sent a tactful but scathing letter to corporate in NC.
WHAT ever happened to companies wanting to keep good customers???
Golly  that was windy - :sorry:
Ok, maybe it's just me but this makes no sense at all. Walmart will no longer prosecute anyone caught shoplifting merchandise with a value of less than $25. Sooooo....isn't that an open invitation to load up on stuff a little at a time? Hello! Anyone home?
No it doesn't. Our store was informed that the security people were not allowed to follow a person into the restroom anymore....
You guessed it...Word spread and every sticky fingered person was running into the restroom area.
Wal-Mart does not care, they are like Lowes and all the others, they just mark it in the loss margin and go on.

Well off to run errands.

"The Constitution will not be preserved and defended until it is enforced and obeyed in every part of every one of the United States. It must be so respected, obeyed, enforced and defended. . ." You can bet this was not said by a commiecrat, five "justices" of the supreme soviet, the ACLU, or liberal judges elsewhere.:peepwallA : For them it is better dead than read.:smile109: It was spoken by Abraham Lincoln who knew a good deal more about the Constitution than any of today's experts, including the MSM.
If Amadingyjihad (however you spell that terrorist's name) is so concerned about Syria, it certainly tells the world where all the terrorists' training and financing is. Will this obvious conclusion occur to the MSM? :light: Never!!:ostrich: At least they and the commiecrats would never admit to it.:grouphug:
Where is baby Suri? From what I can tell, that is a bigger concern for the MSM than is what is going on in the Middle East. Well, that may not be exactly true.:lookaround: Sean Penn and the Pirates of the Caribbean carries a lot space too.:barf: On the bright side, at least I hear nothing about Albore's movie anymore.:yelclap:

Pete Coors was arrested for a DUI in May.
Gee, I wonder what he was drinking.
There's no excuse for drunk driving. It's time for politicians to lose their jobs for a DUI. If they can't prove in their public behavior that they care for the people they serve, get out of office. I don't want their hungover judgement clouding decisions on the law, and they could kill someone just as easily as you or I.
We could start with TedrunKennedy for all I care, but lawmakers breaking laws (especially serious ones like drunk driving) is absolutely intolerable. These are the guys who forced Anheiser-Busch to put "drink responsibly" themes into EVERY commercial.

The problems in the ME just seem to be esculating by the hour. Hopefully cool heads will prevail and the parties involved will pull back before the entire region is at war.
“Critics in both parties say the administration has been so focused on Iraq and Afghanistan, it has failed to pay enough attention to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. We've been paying attention for decades. As long as the Palestinians choose to be terrorists instead of wanting a homeland, nothing can be accomplished.

GOOD MORNING EVERYBODY!
I'm afraid we are now seeing the beginning of the end. I wouldn't be a bit surprised to hear that "clap" of thunder in the clear blue sky. This ol' world has become as depraved (I believe) as it ever can be and we have finally reached the end of His patience!
I've been recuperating from the "family reunion" and the disappointing installation of my "zero maintenance" backyard. You can't get a bunch of people together - no matter how you try - that will behave themselves for the sake of just getting acquainted or re-acquainted - without at least one butt---- putting a monkey-wrench in the festivities! Oh well, I shoulda known better!
I won't even discuss the zero yard. Needless to say, I'll probably have to get the legal community involved to get what I paid for. I'm so disgusted that I refrained from inflicting my mood on all of you.
And, it gets worse...now, I've got to watch the Achmadine-nuts and Kim Dung Hill hold the rest of the world at bay with their puny threats. I can only ask WHERE ARE THE BACKBONES OF OUR SO-CALLED "ALLIES"? I guess they think by not condemning the terrorist barbarians, they will be safe from any of their murderous overruning.
Anyway, I'll probably be scarce again for a few more days as I am too disgusted to even continue to comment on the world's cowards.

Morning,
Not exactly, Ben--I had 6 and they were all different--in looks, personalities, etc. But, all extremely loveable and not one of them made those magazine covers--and, I bet mine were a lot purtier than theirs. :hehe:
CM, I answered your question the other day-did you see it
I asked a question of one of you military-types two or three weeks ago and never received a reply--does anyone read the posts or just scan them and then just post what they're interested in ??? I read them all!
OR, your day is good--just look around you and consider how much worse it really could be! If people like you and me give up, what hope is there for our kids and their kids and on and on? Now, don't take that to mean that what is going on in the ME is not important to us--but, we can do what we do best--pray and hope and trust God for the best--isn't that what America is all about ???
I can't help thinking what a terrible burden our President carries every day and the decisions he must make, even though he gets no cooperation from the :jacka: party! I'm just grateful he's our president and not one of the :jacka: party--things could be worse, see ???
Oh, was about to forget why I really came on here to post--since, to my knowledge, :gopusa: didn't exist, where was everyone griping about the "illegal alien" problem during :pinocchio: s tenure as POTUS  Sean Hannity can say he's talked about it for years and so can the others, but you'd think all of this happened just since GW became the POTUS. Since I live on the border and I've lived here since I was 3 and I'm 75 now, it's always been a bit of a problem---I understand the "Bracero" program started about the same time that WW2 started--silly me, I thought it started much later! But, I did look it up to see! WHO WAS PRESIDENT THEN ???
And, I just got through listening to the diatribe that Pence is putting out--all I could do was just shake my head--sounds like he lives in a fairy-tale land!
So, if you are going to vote for a POTUS on one issue, you might as well stay home! IMNSHO! I lived on a farm most of my life and if the border patrolmen picked them up, they had to be paid before being taken back across and they'd be back that night to irrigate for whatever farmer had employed them! IT AIN"T A NEW PROBLEM--it has just escalated.
Actually, I'm hearing we are in much more danger from the northern border than the southern border as far as a future attack is concerned---who's building a wall there :rolleyes2:
Just my :twocents: for the day and, as usual, I won't expect any response--just had to write it down.
If anyone got this far, have a great day in spite of the world problems--Remember, God is still on his throne!

In 1978, I started working for a large financial company in southwest Ohio. We were nationwide and had thousands of pages of procedures. There were always footnotes about procedures in Illinois as everything there (contracts, disclosures, etc) had to be dual language or available in English and Spanish.
I also worked in California for a while in 1983. More than 10% of the customers having finance contracts there were named Jesus. I called the people who were past due. Everybody always answered the phone, "Hello." They would get the right person on the phone. I would tell them who I am. Then I'd hear some garbled-de-gook that sounded much like, "I speaka no English."
My favorite was to go to their home and put their car on a hook. All the while leading up to the point of towing the car away, they couldn't speak English. Then all of a sudden, "please don't take my car."
I'm fairly certain that the illegal immigrant problem is NOT GWBs fault!

Give your zero maintenance yard time to mature. In the beginning, any new plantings don't look as well as they do later on.
Whenever a large group of people gather, there are bound to be one or two who say something inappropriate. It's best to either laugh it off, or if that isn't possible, ignore what was said.
Stormy OR, your day is good--just look around you and consider how much worse it really could be!
How right you are Stormy. If I find myself feeling a bit down, I think of family, my little ones, and my life in total. Life hasn't always been easy. I had a rough start and lived through many hardships but I am blessed with what I have and the love of a good family. I know positively I've made a huge difference in all of their lives as they've made in mine.
If people like you and me give up, what hope is there for our kids and their kids and on and on?
I can't do much, but I can sign petitions, write letters and emails, answer polls, make phone calls, contribute what I can. I do what I can to try and make America a better place for those that come after us. That's our responsibility.
So, if you are going to vote for a POTUS on one issue, you might as well stay home! I agree. We need a leader like Bush has proven to be. We might not agree with everything he does, but he is a leader doing the best he can with strong opposition just because he is the POTUS.

Good posts in here today.
I also read everyone's comments and enjoy each and every one of them. A lot of times there's not much more to add to what's already been said, and there are other times when there's no point in posting as it may not be very helpful to whoever may appear to be in a bit of down mood.
Everyone's unique, interesting and inspiring. It's really comforting to know that there is a lot of caring individuals here who are always more than willing to help each other out to the best of their ability through the tough times.
With that said, I thank each and every one of you for your uplifting words with total sincerity and God Bless you all.
One special message for a special person we all know and love - O-R:

Good evening!
We got home from vacation yesterday evening. FIL's service at Arlington was very nice - honor guard, bugler, riflemen, etc. The folks at Arlington were great. There was a chaplain and a cemetery representative assigned to our family and they explained everything that would happen. There was also a woman who was the official representative of the Army Chief of Staff. One thing that really impressed me was the fact that these people handle funeral ceremonies all day, five days a week, but you wouldn't know it to be with them. They were helpful, informative and caring.
We were in Massachusetts till Tuesday morning. We got into the D.C. area just in time to go to Arlington and see the Sunset Parade and the silent drill team at the Iwo Jima Memorial. It was a very  ceremony.
Danny Darlin', did you behave yourself while I was gone? I know Katy will say you were an , but you can tell me the truth! :hehe:

OW, Danny was an  while you were gone.
Danny, I agree with you.
In 2003, I was searching for great political websites, when I came across this one. I was tired of hearing and reading the other side throw :hissyfit:.
We all share our different viewpoints. We care about each other. We pray for one another.
I really appreciate receiving the support about my decision about school. Now, I am leaning towards an A.A.S. degree in Business Administration while pursuing a marketing technical certificate.
We are friends. I have met some great people. God bless you all.

The Commodore & his Lady unto the Forum: greetings.
First out of the box: why did the Commodore ask for the Lord to take the Church out of the World before Noon EST 20th January 2009? That is when our new President takes office, and George W. Bush is on a one way trip back to the Ranch at Crawford, TX. Out of the way when Our Lord does to Washington DC what He did to San Francisco back in 1906; He sent them a nasty shake on the San Andreas Fault.
Also, it is the Commodore's way of asking Him to speed up the Rapture of the Saints. But the Commodore is told already that what will happen is on God's Schedule; The Saints will be taken out of the World when God wills it. The Commodore acquieses, but sadly. This is one of the situations where the Commodore wants to pout, but he must submit to Christ. And he does, but quotes John: "Even so, come, Lord Jesus!" And the Commodore adds: "The Sooner The Better!!"
This past Saturday, the Commodore & his Lady attended a family reunion; his Lady lowered the boom on the Commodore's mother. The Commodore was trying to mediate a dispute among the youth, according to the rules of a certain game. And his mother complained about the Commodore's mediation. Bottom line; it is a wonder the Commodore is on speaking terms with his mother. His Lady has told her to emigrate to a certain town in Michigan, where the Mayor can be dubbed Satan, the City Manager, Beelzebul, the local High School Athletic Department calls their teams the "Demons", etc. Of course, the Commodore refers to the City of Hell, MI.
All Michiganders on the Forum know that the City of Hell is a real place in Michigan, near the City of Hinckley, MI. It's a wonder that said City doesn't have its own Zip Code and Post Office, like the Land of Love, Loveland, OH 45130.
Anyway, the Commodore heard that the PRC Politburo was supposed to have sent Kim Yong Il a message designed to make him ILL. In short, the message is supposed to have went, if Il wants to fire off some more missiles in the general direction of anywhere on the compass, the Peoples' Liberation Army will pay Kim Yong Il a visit, giving him Excedrin Headache #44, right between the eyes! Unfortunately, that message has not been confirmed. A pity. Seems Kim is following the advice:
Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears; let the weak say, "I am strong."
And he is going to get a message sent to him in plain, unadulterated Korean:
B A N G
right between the eyes, courtesy of the Peoples' Liberation Army. This is one time where the Commodore cheers for the Chinese.
Now to what Israel is doing to the Hezbollah, before the Jews turn Damascus into an atomic cinder, and Syria uninhabitable for 100K Years unless shortened by the Almighty. But didn't He have Isaiah say "forever"?
Be that as it may, off to the threads with the Hag's song still in the Commodore's memory:
This world has never been
In the awful shape it's in,
Where people scoff
At things our leaders do;
It's time a prayer was spoken
From the hearts of every man:
"Jesus, take aholt and lead us through."

With Israel moving up the Bekaw Valley the Syrians are getting nervous and have just pledged to throw in with Hizballah. What could be in that valley that Syria doesn’t want the Israelis to find?
The price of gasoline is about to go way up and there is noting that we an do in the short term. We can’t drill our way out of this over night and if we take the necessary actions to stop this “Islamic Crusade of Terror” it will take a few days to get that oil flowing again.

Welcome back O-W! Sounds like you had a fairly enjoyable vacation. May your father in law forever rest in peace.
And No to your question. I was not at all behaved while you were gone. But I did try a couple of times.

If Saddams WMD'd are stored in the Bekkah Valley, this could get real ugly real quick.
I;m going to bed now as I am exhausted. I am almost afraid of what i might find out in the morning.
God is on the throne...I just have to keep remembering that!

It's good to know that everything is normal here!
Katy, I think it's a good idea to get your A.A.S. degree as well as a certificate. It gives you more options, in case you decide to go for a Bachelor's later.

And failed miserably, OW. Every time you go away he's like this. One day he's a  and the next he's an :halo: maybe
We just returned from a niece's wedding reception. Lots of fun. They had a big tent set up in the back yard and a nice screened in room for the food and at 9:00 they shot off about a thousand dollars worth of fireworks. A lot of us hadn't had a chance to see any fireworks on Independence Day so it was a treat. Her son owns a fireworks store so I think he used all of his very best. Beautiful!
It was very hot and humid here today and is suppposed to be hotter and humider (is that a word?) tomorrow and Sunday. Sure wish I had my pool set up.
I tried 3 times to send the newsletter to the printer today (3 times yesterday) and it either doesn't attach or I get an internal error message. I don't know what to do. It's been done for 2 days and I can't get it out of my computer. I even tried to send it through the printer's website as they have a file upload but apparently they didn't get it because he never called me to say he got it. I thought for sure he would get the one I sent from their website. Everything seemed to work perfectly.
He said the only other thing to do is to burn a cd and bring it in. That would be wonderful if I only had a cd burner and a cd. :banghead:
