Hey guys, I got this from my brother on email:
Update/ALERT on Colorado HB 1224/Sham ID bill
Tuesday, April 22, 2003 5:31 PM MDT
The critical Colorado House Bill 1224, aka The Secure and Verifiable Identity Documents Bill, which could be the FIRST bill in the nation to stop a state's acceptance of sham ID cards, is back on track.
IMMIGRATION REFORM ACTIVISTS can help pass this bill so that you can point to Colorado as "doing the right thing."
Our information as of today is that Colorado Representative Don Lee will RE-introduce House Bill 1224 "as is." This was Rep. Lee's option when the bill tied last week in the House. Rep. Lee has been doing the right thing, according to those of us who want to STOP Colorado governmental entities from accepting any foreign SHAM ID cards. He has come up against strong opposition from open-borders Colorado Senator John Andrews, a fellow Republican who has tried -- and succeeded -- at having HB 1224 amended in the Colorado Senate in ways that DESTROYED the original, GOOD intent of the bill by permitting law enforcement officers to accept it (why?) and allowed any pregnant or breast feeding ILLEGAL ALIEN to access any and all public services by flashing their sham ID (why?). Sen. Andrews happens to be President of the Colorado Senate. He is reportedly huffing and puffing about citizens' justifiably angry responses to his dirty work on HB 1224. Good work, CITIZENS!
We must do everything we now can to support Rep. Don Lee. While we are not sure what the key steps are at this time, a good start is to contact ALL members of the Colorado House of Representatives (emails on Colorado State website) and ask to pass HB 1224 as re-introduced by Don Lee.
All you have to do is call, email so that we should keep the pressure on and it is not only about national security, it's about protecting our national sovereignty and enforcing our immigration laws. Please do this for your country and protect your children's future. Thanks.
Feel Free to contact all of the state representative. They're supposed to listen to the American People.
