May 10, 2006--Support for an enforcement first policy on immigration tops the 60% mark in all but one of 33 states polled by Rasmussen Reports over the past month (see State-by-State Immigration Data).

Massachusetts is the sole exception, but even in Ted Kennedy's state a solid majority (58%) say that the U.S. should enforce existing laws and control the border before considering new reforms (The Bay State also boasts the lowest percentage of voters who believe that tax cuts help the economy).

Wyoming, at 78%, boasts the highest percentage favoring an enforcement first policy.

Fifty-nine percent (59%) of Arizona voters say they are following the immigration debate "very closely." That's the highest level of interest in the nation.

[/QUOTE]

Another interesting poll that shows overwhelming support for the "Enforcement First" approach.

Be sure to click through the link to the state by state immigration data results. They are in a tabular format that is a little confusing. The questions are down below.

The last two columns gives very interesting views about anchor babies.

I don't understand why our elected officials are unwilling to adhere to the wishes of their constituents, when it has been so clearly shown over and over again. What are they afraid of? The wrath of those illegal aliens that don't vote?http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

- Cheap labor for big business Republicans
- More votes for Democrats
- More parishoners for the Catholic Church
- More dues payers for the unions
- More customers for Walmart

It is all about special interests. Nobody represents us folks.
