Bordering on a War Zone
Interview of Andy Ramirez by William F. Jasper

Andy Ramirez, the chairman of a non profit organization supporting the U.S. Border Patrol, describes the perilous situation along the U.S.-Mexico border. *Andy Ramirez serves as chairman of Friends of the Border Patrol (FBP), a non-profit organization that was created to support the U.S. Border Patrol and defend U.S. national security. *Founded in 2004, FBP works with the Border Patrol and law enforcement officials across the United States and is using surveillance cameras on the U.S.-Mexico border to serve as a "neighborhood watch" and as "eyes and ears" for the Border Patrol in high-traffic areas where the Border Patrol does not have cameras operating. With his many contacts in the Border Patrol, Mr. Ramirez also breaks important stories that have been neglected or covered up by the politicians and the major media.

The New American: You've just returned from the Canadian border and, of course, you live near the Mexican border. As you are well aware, our borders have been neglected, undermanned, and overrun for many years. So what's your overall assessment right now, on our present situation? *Is it getting better or worse?

how do you get this news out , how do you let people in isolated areas in the usa know about the violence and disregard for american law ? how do you get a family in isolated small town america interested in stopping the flow of illegals ?? i'd imagine that most american's really don't pay much attention . i do , i listen to radio , tv , talk on message boards read articles on the net , newspapers , magazines but i do not think that most people do because they trust the usa government and mr. bush . i don't know , its tough , all broadcasts on tv news seems to downplay the danger that i see in out of control illegal immigration . as one of my last acts living in southern kalifornia , i'm going locally around the city and taking pictures of the degradation going on in los angeles . ------ i'm going to be showing them around in the new area that i'm moving too . probably won't do much good but it'll be interesting to show the pictures to the boys at the counter in the local coffee shop !!

Five shot to death in Nuevo Laredo

Associated Press

NUEVO LAREDO, Mexico — Gunmen killed five people in one day during separate attacks in this violent border city,

bringing to 101 the number of slayings so far this year, authorities said today.

Just before midnight Monday, police found a man's body riddled with bullets on a sidewalk of a working-class

neighborhood. The man, who has not been identified, had been shot at least 30 times, authorities said. ...
Thought I'd tack this on the end of this faded thread.

Curious about this statement:<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr class="standard"><td>Quote </td></tr><tr class="standard"><td class="QUOTE">rival drug gangs fighting for billion-dollar

smuggling routes into the United States.
If we know they are smuggling through this area, why aren't we posting military security along it?
*Only logical reason I can think of is that a few politicians are getting a piece of the action on drug sales. I mean, that's the only reason I would turn a blind eye to a ticking bomb like this. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

The $64,000 question Sum1. I'd like the answer to that too. I would really like an investigation done on this matter, that is, IF we could find 5 or 6 HONEST people to git'r done.

This whole situation is pathetic. Since when has America sat down and let someone else run over her? Never thought I'd see this day!
