Students are protesting the immigration bill in a CA school, with a walk out. It sounds like it is in the LA area. Hear some of it on FOX news.

just heard about this on the news . they say that 150 walked out of class to protest . i figure that these youts just attended school today rather then skipping school so that they could attend the school walkout protest . http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I think there are a bunch of protests today. I'll post some links if I run across them again.

Thousands of people across the country protested Friday against legislation cracking down on illegal immigrants, with demonstrators in such cities as Los Angeles, Phoenix and Atlanta staging school walkouts, marches and work stoppages.
Congress is considering bills that would make it a felony to be illegally in the United States, impose new penalties on employers who hire illegal immigrants and erect fences along one-third of the U.S.-Mexican border. The proposals have angered many Hispanics.
The Los Angeles demonstration led to fights between black and Hispanic students at one high school, but the protests were largely peaceful, authorities said.

When I first saw the photos of the CA immigration protests I thought they were of the protesters in Paris. It is amazing that socialism produces essentially the same result no matter where it is applied.

With all the Immigration Bill protests going on all over the country this weekend, why aren't the FBI, CIA, Police and INS people out there checking for green cards, expired visa and then documenting and deporting all illegal offenders?
Seem to me that such protests should make their jobs really easy...
'Fine, want to go into the protest area, show me some identification proving you're here legally, else get into the bus [buses for Mexico leave every hour on the hour].' Your an legal American citizen, but refused to show ID...
Good! I hope Mexico is as kind to you been illegally in their country as we are to their illegals.

If seeing the masses of people demonstrating was supposed to influence me, it certainly did. It really brought home the breadth of the problem we have.
Carrying flags of the countries they came from was a bad idea. To them, I say, fix your own country, demand better. Breaking our laws and using our resources is not the answer. That just lowers our standards and does nothing to help your country.
You come to our country, break our laws, bankrupt our services, close our hospitals, demand services and schools to teach in your language, and refuse to learn our culture. And you expect us to appreciate you and welcome you. I don't think so.
I don't feel sorry for the woman who married an illegal, had four children with him, and is now worrying what will happen if he is deported. She should have thought of that before marrying him. I do feel sorry for the children, but that is the parents problem, don't make it ours. Take responsibility for your actions and decisions just as I have to take responsibility for mine.

Well,
Does anyone here still think they are just 'good-hearted, hard-working folks doing jobs Americans won't do'? Or have the blinders been pulled from your eyes to let you see the very real THREAT that this country faces from these 'invaders'?
There is no 'assimilation' here, there is no desire to be American. There is only blatant greed and disrespect of our country, our laws and ourselves. How much longer will you be intimidated by these terrorists?
I found a website that has a little close-up audio of what these people really believe and say. You can see it HERE (http://www.wehategringos.co m)
I for one am truly frightened for my country. The threat is not just in the streets, but at the ballot box, as well. What's to stop these BLATANT criminals from voting in November? The law? I think you can see that 'the law' has absolutely no sway over these radical extremists.
If I had ANY sympathy for these people, it certainly disappeared yesterday as I watched Round Two of 'The Invasion of America'. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

Something like over a half million people in California.

Crowd estimates are known for being overblown so I wouldn't necessarily accept that number at face value.
However, it was obviously a very large number of people.
We've written lots of letters, made phone calls, signed petitions, answered polls, and I've seen in repeatedly posted here that 90% of Americans want illegal immigration stopped.
BUT, the only physical presence I've ever seen has been that of the Minutemen.
Will American citizens take to the streets in like numbers to express their dissatisfaction with illegal immigration?

Good morning all.
I almost said that we are closer to civil war than the Iraqis are but I guess if we go to war with the Mexican illegal immigrants and their supporters it will be a war against the Mexican and other Hispanic insurgents. The most dangerous people in this country are criminal gangs from Central America and way too little is being done to control them partly because our leaders have to consider the feeling of the Hispanic voters before they go after these gangs.
We should pass a Constitutional Amendment to out law the use of Spanish on our soil.
If you look around you will see that the great melting pot has cooled and the ingredients are coalescing into separate strata. When the sun sets on this great experiment the fire will be dead and the creators of the most powerful nation ever to exist on the planet will be a thin film of fat floating on an underworld of chaos. Our planet is on the edge on the abyss and the liberal horde and the ignorant are looking up at the sky as they back toward the chasm of doom.
If political correctness keeps us from opposing the Hispanic takeover of the Southwest and makes us fear to ask the blacks to establish some sort of family structure before they have kids this country will not be here for our grand kids to grow up in.

i didn't go check it out but i hear that it was big . traffic was tied up on freeways leading into downtown los angeles . i hear that the biggest was in los angeles but demonstrations were all over the usa in milwaukee , georgia , arizona . i hear [don't know] that there were american flag burnings and other disrespecting of the usa . i was happy to see mexican and other types of flags carried by the protesters as well as american flags . maybe americans will see the flags and get a clue .-------- as far as americans other then - minutemen - actively protesting in counter demonstrations . yeah , i'd like to see that but i do not feel that it will happen . this whole immigration thing has been done by usa government , purposely and with lots of thinking over the years . any new immigration law will be what usa government and special interests want .
