God Bless Tony Blair

Let us assume for a moment that on September 11, 2001, nineteen Islamic fanatics flew jet airliners not into the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Virginia and a field in Pennsylvania, but rather into Buckingham Palace, Scotland Yard and the Tower of London.

Imagine, further, that in these attacks, 3,000 people, most of them British, died a horrible, fiery death.

Now picture President George W. Bush flying to London to stand in solidarity with the leaders of Great Britain as Prime Minister Tony Blair gives a speech to the British people, vowing to hunt down the enemies of his country and bring them to justice.

I'm not sure what America's highest honor is for a non-citizen but one of you will probably know. Whatever it is I think it should be given to Tony Blair! http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif

The thought just occurred that perhaps he may not be leaning so far left these days after his wife made such a spectacle of herself, whining about how he isn't home to help with the baby. "Pardon me, my dear, but I do have a country to run, here. Just have a spot of tea and cool down. I'll be back after the war and change the infant's nappies." Give me a break!

How often in history has a head of state put his career on the line as has Tony Blair? I agree, we should never forget his loyalty and support in the face of so much protest from his people. He deserves the highest award that this country can bestow on a non-citizen. He will go down in history along side Winston Churchill and should at least get a "Profile In Courage" award from this country.
