'Misunderestimate d Disconfirmation'

Oliver North
GOPUSA

"Forget the facts. The Bush administration is so bad at 'spin control,' the White House has banned Frisbees." That's the assessment of a seasoned Washington reporter earlier this week when "Port-Gate" blew up in the President's face. According to this sage, the "bi-partisan explosion" over the sale of operations at six U.S. ports to a company owned by the United Arab Emirates has left "George Bush more badly wounded than Dick Cheney's hunting partner." Great laugh lines. Everyone in the elevator got a big chuckle.

Unfortunately, it's all true -- it just isn't funny. In Washington today, the facts really don't matter. And no one -- friend or foe -- has any doubt that the Bush administration has an appalling record when it comes to getting its message out and keeping Congress "in the loop." When political and press opponents of the president are allowed to frame the issue -- whether it's the war in Iraq, the response to a hurricane, NSA "wiretaps" or foreign firms operating U.S. port facilities -- the results are foreordained.

I always respected the ribbons on Oliver North's chest, but now I am more inclined to respect the man, for outlining the deficiencies in the White House.
Oliver North has made a clear case of understanding for the president's position, while pointing out deficiencies with room for improvement.
What does communication really involve? I think being a good listener is a prerequisite for maintaining rapport among the people and branches of government.
The Bush administration has a closed, secret-behind-the-doors kind of management style, which exhibits a presidential arrogance with no boundary. The Senate is no better, for soon they will circumvent the will of the American people, by attaching a guest worker provision to the immigration reform bill which passed the House.
There is an obvious disconnect between the government and its citizens, which is only exacerbated by all signs and forms we witness as the hallmark of decline for a once great superpower. Surrender our ports?
We are in dire need of national definition and direction. Time for a national conference call to decide if the American taxpayer is required to subsidize his own demise.
Trade and balancing the budget, may also be considered the arts of war and diplomacy. Maintaing our strategic factors of production by preservation from outsourcing and globalization is of paramount importance.
The American taxpayer is not a geopolitical Santa Claus, who must nation-build and defend on other shores. It is not in the American interest to gift ingrates with democracy, by expending our blood and national treasure. This philosophy of liberty-- as expounded by the president--has evolved into our nation being the first among nations, to fail to garner the spoils of war.
The families of all our dead servicemen and women, are most deserving of being the recipients of a "service charge" from the government of Iraq. That is a true definition of "free trade."
I see no problem with the Arab port deal, in fact I endorse it after reading North's article.
The fundamental understanding to be amended to our Constitution, is the doctrine that America will be second to none, both industrially, and militarily. Further, no foreigner may own any piece of our shores, but only lease. Finally, private property rights will be restored, for they are the bedrock principle upon which all ports of democracies are built.
No one ever said being President of the United States was an easy job, but for someone who gets so much power and glory, it is good for him to get an occasional whisper in the ear, reminding him that he does indeed answer to the people.

"We owe allegiance to no crown."

By the way: Where is the rebel flag icon next to the smilie faces?

Yep. *And the Incumbent Protection Act, aka the McCain-Feingold Campaign Finance Reform will ensure it remains that way.

Can't do that. *UN opposes it. *Something about "nationalism."

Need to add major tax reform in here someplace.

Good post Rev.

The Socialist Attack machine and their strategy is working. It may not succeed but it is working and doing damage.

You have a Republican adminstration that is snake bit. If they inform the people early, they attack the message with distortion and lies. If they inform the public late, they are attacked for waiting too long or being too secretive even if it was stuff like information about the troops, strength, armor, numbers, etc.

If they limit the information they are hiding something and if they put out all the information they are trying brainwash the people.

Thus, they don't know which way to go since the media is going to side with the Socialist leadership of the Democratic party.

If it wasn't for talk radio and forums like this, the Republican party would be in so much trouble we wouldn't win a race for dog catcher even though we try to speak truthfully when we do speak and try not to resort to name calling which they have absolutely no restrictions on.

Well, I guess, if you call being named as Hitler, a Nazi, dumb, stupid, worse than Osama bin Laden, the biggest terrorist in the world and with an f-bomb dropped before most of these words and being insulted every day by the hounds from hell news media and Democrats, I guess George Bush does have the power and glory.

I see no arrogance in this man. I do see a man who is so foully beset by his enemies that he tends to withdraw into his core group but he still does come out fighting every day like the brave man he is.

Well, I agree with you 100 percent Old Man. It's really no wonder that it's not perceived as hyperbole when people say: "Worst Administration in the history of the Universe." The calculus is simple: Republican is bad, Democrat is good. Of course, Democrats and liberal lurkers in this forum would perceive that as whining, but it's just the truth.

OM, you ever get shakes thinking of how the MSM will co-opt and reinforce every single thing a future Democrat administration does? Personally, I hope that the American people just ensure that the Democrats remain on the sidelines for decades.

Hi, Charie!

I agree with you too! Our president is expectorated on in the worst way every single day. It's no wonder he gets so much inspiration and comfort from the Gospel, ya know?
