America's leftist-dominated media are horrified at the notion that 22 percent of Americans get news from conservative radio talk-show hosts.

Writing in today's Los Angeles Times - a notorious propagandist for the left - Steve Carney reports on a survey that claims that ... gasp ... one in five Americans get "their daily dose of news" from the likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and other conservative talk radio hosts.

Despite the fact that liberals are in firm control of the overwhelming majority of the nation's mainstream newspapers, CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, Time, Newsweek, America's universities, Hollywood and just about every other medium of news and opinion, the left wing is up in arms that the American people now have an alternative in talk radio that allows them to escape from the daily torrent of liberal propaganda they serve up as news.

We may just as well give it up as to explaining "talk radio". The liberals will never understand that their outlets, which are all the usual TV and newspaper sources give us the liberal outlook already. They think that because newspapers print 50 %liberal columnists and 50% conservative columnists that they have been fair. They have no idea that their so-called news is not news, but practically 100
% biased towards the left. News is supposed to be reported with no opinions added by the newsreader or writer.
Limbaugh, Hannnity, et al. are aural columnists and thus aren't straight news reporters. If only the mainstream news people could only realize this.

P.S. Maybe not. If they ever figure it out, we may be doomed.

Charie, I think they know. They just can't stand the idea that there are competing ideas available at all.

To propagandize the nation it is necessary to own ALL the media, and also the fact that there are actually a lot of listeners is frightening I'm sure. This means that there are people who have resisted the propaganda! Gaaak! That's even worse. Oh well they will resort to their old standby in times of stress, assassinate the reputation (or try) of all of the conservative commentators. Tora! Tora! Tora!

Maybe they will associate all the conservative pundits with SUVs!

I really don't think the media has any concept of the market place. They had a lock on the news for so many years and now these upstarts Like Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Matt Drudge, ect. come along and upset the apple cart. Now 1 in 5 almost are getting their news from someplace that isn't willing to play the game by their rules. They are scared they have never had any real idealogical competition. This means they might have to come down out of their ivory towers and really find out then present both sides of an issue. When both sides are presented people might just not think the correct way they may think the right way. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif **http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Only the thought that I'd have to pay to replace both items kept me from throwing the coffee pot through the TV screen at Peter Jennings yesterday. *He insinuates his own views into all of his political statements. *Just one word, innocuous in itself, can give a different meaning to a sentence. *And I really can't believe that it's accidental.

P.S. *Both items are safe, but my b.p. took a beating. *http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rotflo.gif

Peter is one of the worst as far as being biased. I hear he's Canadian and nopt that all people from other countries can't appreciate or understand freedom and America, he just can't.

Remember when the liberal media was thinking about cutting the news shows because of low ratings? They still haven’t come to understand that it is their obvious slant that has driven people, who want to know the truth, away from their “news” programs.

I still remember the moment and place when I realized that the news broadcasters are brainwashed to lie if they must to give the desired public perception of the simplest news. It was about 1982 and I was in Corpus Christi, Texas driving my new 280ZX, listening to the radio and they were talking to a young man freshly trained/indoctrinated in the art of news broadcasting. It was like listening to a religious cult member who knew that aligns haven’t seeded the Earth with clones but wanted to be part of a cult. He wasn’t trying to spill the beans but explained that his conservative attitudes must be held back from his news reporting. He accepted the idea that liberal views are OK because they are all about peace, love, inclusiveness, etc.

The media does not simply slant the news, they decide what is news. Please notice the number of stories about the homeless when a Republican is in the White House vs. when we have a Democrat. See the amount of ink the Matthew Shepard case got vs. the boy killed by homosexuals. That is particularly insidious.
My next great concern is the way in which the left will deal with talk radio and the internet. Beware of new "fairness" legislation that curbs free speech by conservatives. I guarantee that some sort of proposal will be made before long.
