Have YOU Forgotten?

"Have You Forgotten". The artist is David Worley. The song is a heart-rending ballad reminding us of the raw, helpless rage that engulfed us on September 11, 2001, and of the vows we took to make it right to those that died. This young man has chosen to take issue with the protests, and the attacks on the President, the military, and the feelings held by this country toward those who would attack us with impunity and believe that nothing more would come of it than cold fish. The music industry has taken issue with Mr. Worley for expressing his beliefs, and for daring to remind us that it was us, America, that was attacked by cruel, heartless and faceless maniacs one fine September morning. His music is, according to some reports, "blacklisted", not playable. His question is a simple one, "Have you forgotten?". Have you forgotten why we fight? Have you forgotten what was lost, that fine September morning? Have you forgotten, perhaps, and surrendered your morality, your pride, and your sense of love for the earth we walk on to the international viewpoint, to a belief that it is wrong to have an American perspective, to believe in an American cause, and to fight for an American belief?
Many would have it that way. The internationalists that walk the streets, carrying their placards protesting the war are the same faces that carry signs protesting internationalism. Isn't it strange that they protest internationalism when it means trade, and prosperity, and jobs, but they defend internationalism when it means safety, and security, and holding accountable those who would scoff at the law, and scoff at humanity, and scoff at security? Wouldn't that define hypocrisy, to speak from both sides of an issue depending on the necessity of the moment? Doesn't that define unprincipled -- to take whatever side of an issue is convenient at the moment?

I was just talking about this song in the Precinct and found that Gregg had written this article. It's a great song and a real shame this artist is being penalized.
Even if you don't like country music I hope you will call the country stations in your area and find out if they are playing this song and why not if they aren't.
