STEVENSON RANCH, Calif. -- Tree-sitter John Quigley said activists will take a petition signed by 5,000 people to the governor's local office tomorrow to save a big oak a developer wants to transplant so a road can be widened.
It is the same petition, plus another 1,000 signatures, that activists presented last month to the office of county Supervisor Mike Antonovich, who represents the area where "Old Glory" is, Quigley said.
John Laing Homes once planned to bulldoze the tree to make way for the road widening.
