Time for http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/coffee.gif, lots of it and very strong! We all stay up all night anyway so why not. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif
Wilma is coming, somewhere, at sometime, at some strength. Right now she's been downgraded to a Cat 4. There isn't a lot of consensus on the other details yet. I hope all of you down there are getting ready to evacuate, hunker down, or celebrate when it misses you. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif
Wilma doesn't remind me of the Flintstones. The name reminds me of a much loved family cat who was anything but a hurricane. She was an extremely smart and dignified Maine Coon who lived to a ripe old age, moved all over the country with my daughter, and always came home.
One of Colin Powell's former aides says that the "Cheney Cabal" hijacked foreign policy. Sounds like that was probably a good thing. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
The Senate will be holding a hearing on Katrina tomorrow. I hope they have enough cameras to go around. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tqrolleyes.gif
The New Orleans Saints are considering a move to a new city. Nagin is rabid. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/madgo.gif http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lol.gif
The Houston Astros have advanced to the World Series! Congrats! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/salute1.gif
I think it's getting close enough to start playing Christmas music. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/music.gif http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tree.gif
http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/elefant.gif Interesting: http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jacka.gif "Should she survive the hearings, liberal groups may demand that Democrats filibuster her. Republican senators, already hesitant to back Ms. Miers after heavy blowback from their conservative base, would likely lack the will to trigger the so-called nuclear option. 'The nomination is in real trouble,' one GOP senator told me. 'Not one senator wants to go through the agony of those hearings, even those who want to vote for her.' Even if Ms. Miers avoids a filibuster, it's possible Democrats would join with dissident Republicans to defeat her outright." - John Fund http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/it.gif
I would love to support Hillary for President if she would come out against the travesty in Iraq....That sounds like Rush Limbaugh to me. That doesn't sound like an opposition party leader speaking to me. What Sen. Clinton said after our meeting sounds exactly like the Republican Party talking points I heard from Senators Dole and McCain. ~ Cindy Sheehan http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif
"We're told she (Miers) has terrific "common sense." Common sense is the last thing you want in a judge! The maxim "Hard cases make bad law" could be expanded to "Hard cases being decided by judges with 'common sense' make unfathomably bad law." ~ Ann Coulter, (common sense and elitism don't go together) http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/str.gif
"If there are indictments, they're going to be probably in the vice president's office, they're probably going to come next week and they are going to blow this White House apart. It's going to be unbelievable." ~ Chris Matthews http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tqrolleyes.gif

If Nagin's not married, maybe he could hook up with http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/crazy.gif Cindy Sheehan. Can you imagine Hillary not being liberal enough for you?
Chris Matthews is really unbelievable and yes, everything in his quote is unbelievable, but then a lot of unbelievable junk has happened this year.
Speaking of unbelievable, does dating a liberal make a person lose their mind. What is up with Ann Coulter?

I have decided to take a year or two off from school no matter if I finish semester 1 before my deadline or not. *I need a breather. *I have been working hard. *Their isn't any sense for me to rush. *I want to learn this material.
Congratulations to Houston for beating St. Louis. *I will be rooting for Chicago in the World Series.
I am looking forward when the stores play Christmas music. *And, I am looking forward when the holiday thread opens up.

OK, I'll bite. . . . what was the zinger?
BBBBBBBBbbbbbbbbbbrr rrrrrrrrr! Baby it's cold outside! The weather is so beautiful this time of year. Hard to imagine that just a thousand miles south of here people are in harm's way. Be careful dear Florida friends. Stay safe!
Can you believe I forgot to go to the lab this morning? Good thing I haven't eaten anything yet. I'll leave the office in a few minutes and git 'er done.
You mean I'm listening to my Christmas music too early? Actually, the only thing I've listened to so far that Christmasy is Handel's Messiah. But I confess I have all my Christmas CD's out and ready to go. Maybe I'll wait until tomorrow. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Seems Plamegate has taken a little (very little) of the scrutiny off from Harriet Miers. I can't even imagine what Ms. Miers must be going through. No one deserves to be treated this way. (Well, OK. . . . there are quite a few people I can think of that do deserve to be treated this way), but that list sure doesn't have Harriet Miers' name on it.
So, I'm off. . . . . let the vampires down at the hospital have their fun. . . . looking for the juiciest vein. . . . actually, I don't have one. . . . so they get to make two or three "sticks". . . happens every time. No wonder I conveniently "forgot" to go this morning!

Good morning all.
With the circus brought on by the Miers nomination we she the depth of the people’s dilemma. The Republicans service a fractured constituency and they are afraid to stand by the President when his numbers are down. The real people who elected those Republican Senators aren’t that concerned about Miers. If the Republicans had accepted Miers and said that they don’t know much more than the President wanted her and that an outsider is good from time to time they may have gotten just what they wanted. The Republicans have hurt the President and they have hurt themselves. If the Congress makes a big shift this will be the reason.
When I hear people complaining that President Bush isn’t a real conservative it makes me think that those people put their ideology ahead of the good of the country. We are in the middle of the worst war we have ever been in and President Bush has done as good a job as he could do with what he has to work with. I would have attacked Syria before now but I understand why W hasn’t and won’t whine too much about it. I strongly believe that the liberals who went to Iraq before the war and those who have cried for us to get out of there are responsible for the deaths of hundreds of our troops. We are still seeing correspondence between the terrorists saying that they think they can break our will. Every person killed in Iraq, be they American troops or Iraqi children, are killed because people in this country show weakness.
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr class="standard"><td>Quote </td></tr><tr class="standard"><td class="QUOTE">Chris Matthews....what else can you say about this man....other than he is a slimeball with a big mouth...that runs amuck![/QUOTE]
Flower, I agree; I get caught from time to time and end up shaking my head. He makes me wonder how a person can believe some of the things that he says. He is so happy that some body from the Bush team may be indicted in the Plame case even though there was no crime in the first place. I thought that the 5th Amendment protected people from being prosecuted for saying “I didn’t do it”. After my experience with the law back in 77 I wouldn’t say one word to the police about anything if I thought I might be a suspect. I would take the 5th if called before a GJ and tell them why.

Good morning, everyone! *A beautiful, but balmy, new day and I was up and at Wal-Mart by 6:45 this a.m. *Wanted to get my water and a few supplies...to the tune of $75.00 http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rolleyes2.gif . CleosMom, did you not get to see Zell Miller go off on Chris Matthews after his speech at the Republican Convention? *It was superb, sublime, and stupendous!!!!!! *Chris was spitting all over the place...even more than usual! *He must have a 6 foot "spit zone"!
Nagin is rabid...nothing new there!
Coulter is bloviating...nothing new there, either!
Sheehan is lamenting that the War isn't going her way...and neither is Hilly...nothing new there, as well.
And...we have Wilma spinning around out there...nothing new there, either.
Well....it looks to me like God is in His heaven and all's right with the world. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif Well...God is in His Heaven, that much I know for sure!
Wilma, Wilma, Wilma...wouldn't you like to do a little rumba or form a conga line in Havana? *I hear you can get all the Cuban cigars you like and drive some real classic Chevys as well! *There's nothing to do in Florida! The "high season" has started and you'd just have to pay higher prices at those nice beach-side hotels! So....please just go see Fidel. Right pRIM? *
Speed, how is the sleeping situation? *Getting any rest? *I have had four good nights of rest just by not watching any news or getting on the computer after 9:00! *I was getting too aggitated, I guess. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif

I hope I don't get tossed out of the GOPUSA for my next statement.
While I was getting ready for work, I saw bill o'reilly on the Today show being interviewed by Katie. (I wanted to see the weather on Wilma and got stuck when they said that Bill was going to be on)) She got real upset by bill's comment (twice) that he wanted to see Tim Russert arrested and dragged away in shackles. She also got visibly upset when she suggested to Bill that he make his show a less combative place where ideas can be logically discussed (or some such drivvle about amiable place for honest dialogue about the issues), and then he said that they do honestly discuss the issues only he does it with passion not like some shows (I think he took a swipe at her). He said that he was a warrior and that the passion was what differentiated his show from the others.
He also said that Poor Harriet is getting the flack because she goes to church. Once she was labeled as a conservative Evangelical Christian then the Dems started hating her. He also said that liberals hate Evangelical Christians. He further lamented that the Harriet Miers flap is all about Conservatives wanting their way on the Supreme Court and the liberals wanting it their way. He was brutally honest.
He also addressed the Plame Game going on and said it was a NON-story outside of the beltway unless Rove or Libby gets indicted.
He also addressed the rumor that he was going to retire. He said he will if the pros don't outweigh the cons.
Here is a question: If con is the opposite of pro, is congress the opposite of progress?

Goodness, Horse2, if we never watched other programs how would we know what to get in an uproar about? Me? I'm a member of MoveOn.org. (one of these days I'll stroke out reading their e-mails) What M-L said about keep your enemies closer.

Mentioning MoveOn.org http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/barf.gif reminded me that I had forwarded their e-mail attacking local congressmen for receiving money from Tom DeLay to just about every Republican I knew and one of the Assemblymen from Appleton mentioned it. He said he heard it from me first. I tell you, I'm a regular Paul Revere.
Can't stay long. I'm expecting a call from my daughter. Things are not going well and the wedding date will be moved up.

Nagin has a lot to worry about! He just keeps acting like New Orleans will be back to buisness as usual in a couple of weeks. Can you imagine a city as large as N.O. not receiving the taxes and fees required to operate properly for the last seven weeks? (Much less for the next several months added to this.) I see no way for N.O. to keep from going belly up. I think the Saints can see the hand-writing on the wall. Those guys want to keep their incredibly huge salaries and that isn't going to happen in N.O.
The New Orleans Hornets NBA team made the Ford Center in Oklahoma City their home this year and Oklahoma City is in heaven. Tickets are selling incredibly fast. Oklahoma has never had a National team of any kind. Well that's my http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twocents.gif

Hmmm...had the most unnerving experience. Entering the elevator in the parking garage this morning, there were three men on it and the one to my right says, "good morning, ma'am." I greeted him in return, whereupon he launches into some demurring about the day or something.
We get to street level (I'm headed down to sub) and his cronies get off the 'vator, but he just stands there with this goofy smile staring at me, "are you getting off here?" Like he never say a woman in a skirt or something!
His friends are calling for him to come on, and he leaves while staring at me with this soupy grin all the way out onto the street.

...but one must face facts. The best calculations show at least a year, if not 18 months, until the Superdome is ready for a game. that means that the Saints are at least going to play 'home' games in other cities next season, if not in the season after that. And I don't see the city gov of NO throwing gobs of $$$ at the Superdome when there is so much to do with basic services. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif All of which means that this capitalist Saints owner may not make a profit for several years, if he doesn't move elsewhere.

Saw that and commented to my wife (who was born and raised in NJ incidentally) that the canoe was probably scraping it's bottom. What an absolute crock. What made it all the more amusing was the "reporter" made it obvious she was as clueless about a canoe as she was about the depth of the flood waters.

Its a bizarre morning here in the SF East Bay..........
An arrest that we knew about last night, but didn't break until now, in the Lafayette murder.........Mrs. Horowitz(Pamela Vitale)...killed by a 16 year old boy...who has the scratches that match the skin under her fingernails.
This is horrific.
Then:
The mentally unbalanced Mother, who tossed her kids into the bay..............at suppertime last night.
What?
Lord have mercy.
I realize this kind of stuff is happening all over the world everyday....it seems tho, to be coming in bunches here in the neighborhood.
Someone drives into a group of school children in Vacaville yesterday, and 2 die? *What?
A murder charge? *I hope so!
Do things come in threes? *So many people, many more crimes? *Ugh.
Just checking in....as I have my eyeballs glued on the TV.
I do not have much to say about politics............ ......and I do not understand these indictments.
I suppose I could be ''narrow'' minded and say it's ''get back'' for what the GOP did to Bill Clinton....and this is the best the DEM's can do?
Chris Matthews, is a dolt. *And, his saliva control is disgusting. *I would feel better if he was chewing chaw...and HAD to spit, but it appears his temperment produces froth? foam? Rabies?
My heartfelt prayers for those in the path of Wilma............... ....I wanna keep yelling FRED-D-D-D!
Hugs to all............. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *

Well things have been exciting around here for the last couple of hours. Just about noon our secretary left for lunch and looked across our church parking lot to see smoke billowing out of the vents of a home. Her husband, a retired fire chief from OKC, was sitting in his truck (his back was to the house) waiting for her to take her to lunch. She alerted him, he ran to make sure no one was in the house while she called 911. The fire department sent five trucks and put the fire out. It seems a toaster sitting in the kitchen started the fire.
Here's the freaky thing...just three months ago the family moved back into the house after their house burned due to a hair curler accidently left on. Also about 10 months ago the wife's mothers house trailer burned to the ground. And to top things off the husband is a fire fighter for the OKC Fire Department.
Hmmm.....

Meeting is done! Some meetings are productive, some aren't. This one was. Yeah!
Katy ~ You are a very smart gal ~ give your decision a little time. Quite often the answer becomes obvious if you sit back and let God help you with your decisions. Whatever decision you make, just remember that you have some wonderful friends here who will support you. Oh, and don't look back!
I'm going home now. . . . catch up on the news before I hit the sack. I'm really excited . . . . I went to Sam's Club this afternoon and bought three new books and three pizzas (books for me and pizzas for the meeting). Life can't get much better than pizza, a productive meeting, a little Fox News and fresh sheets with a new book. Add to that the fact that my blood pressure is out of the "danger" range (and almost down to normal) ~ I'm a pretty happy camper right now.
And I'll say a prayer for my dear friends in Florida before I nod off. Perfect way to fall asleep.
Good night.

I work on my schoolwork everyday. *My assignments come from my study guides or study units. *I read the introduction to find out what I am require to know in each chapter. *For instance, chapter 6 in my mathematics book is about percents.
I preview the chapter by skimming to have a feel what I am going to be learning. *Then, I go back, reread, look at examples, write down terms, and work on exercise problems. *Each chapter is divided into sections. *At the end of each section, their is a section review which has more problems. *At the end of the chapter, I work on any assign problems in the assessment test.
I work on my assignments before I clock in and during my breaks.

Welcome to ToBNamedL8r. Hope you enjoy your stay here. This thread is the perfect place to make introductions. So glad you decided to join.
Katy, you do what you feel is right for you. It is easy to get overloaded and stressed out. You can always pick up where you left off when you are ready.
I am watching Hurricane Wilma. I have two brothers and an Uncle down that way. Also worried about all our forum friends living in the area. If they make evacuation mandatory please consider going. We at least go to higher ground as our property tends to flood. But, it looks like we will not suffer any effects from Wilma.
Hope everyone sleeps well. That is where I am headed. My pillow is calling my name.

I have felt this way too...This fighting the insurgents would have been over a LONG time ago if they thought we were of one mind here in the USA...Ande
