Laci Peterson’s family says police disclosed affair, insurance policy

Modesto police told Laci Peterson’s family that her husband was having an affair and recently took out a $250,000 life insurance policy on her, a family member said Thursday.

Detectives met with Laci Peterson’s side of the family Wednesday night to tell them why they believe Scott Peterson is responsible for the disappearance of his 27-year-old pregnant wife, the family member said.

Police refused to comment on the investigation Thursday, and Scott Peterson did not return calls Thursday night. “I don’t think she ever saw it coming,” said the family member, who asked not to be identified. “As to exactly what happened to her, I don’t really know.”

Have any of you been following this case? After this news release, it's not looking good for ole Scott, IMO. That poor woman. I wonder if she ever knew her husband was a sleaze.....or so it's reported.

As a card carrying http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tinfoil.gif person, I always had reservations about the "sterling" Mr. Peterson. However, he got such glowing accolades from *her* family, it was hard to believe he would do such a dastardly deed.

Poor Chandra Levy was right in the park for a year or so, but they did eventually find her~~now all they have to do is find the killer.</span></span>

This is absolutely horrible! *I feel so sad for this woman's family. *This is such a horrible tragedy. *Now, I know that the husband is innocent until proven guilty, but these revelations sure do point an awfully big accusatory finger at him. *I hate to see when someone kills their spouse, but to kill their child along with them? *That is just the sickest thing anyone could do, in my opinion.

I hope that this is merely circumstantial, and completely a coincidence. *However, given today's society, I find it hard to believe it could be anything other than the foulest of foul play.

The eyes of man may never catch the person who has done this to Laci Peterson. *The eyes of man may see the culprit tomorrow. *But rest assured, the eyes of God have seen him (or her) now, and if that person is unrepentant, they shall have hell to pay. *Quite literally, too.

It may look bad, but shouldn't we wait to judge the case?
