Bush Giving Iraq A Few More Days

WASHINGTON (GOPUSA News) -- The White House reported Thursday that President Bush will postpone his U.N. Iraq war resolution for a few more days in an effort to gain support from international allies.
Meanwhile, President Bush has planned a last-minute trip overseas to meet with key leaders to discuss a possible U.S.-led war in Iraq.
The president continued to plead his case with world leaders on Thursday morning, meeting with Irish Prime Minister Bertie Ahem. Ireland has been a key American military ally for 40 years, but has said that it would not support U.S. military action in Iraq without a war resolution approved by the U.N. Security Council.
"For the United Nations to be respected, it must be united in purpose as well as in name," said Ahem. Bush was grateful to Ireland for its support for Iraqi disarmament in a vote before the U.N. Security Coucil last fall.
