WASHINGTON (GOPUSA News) -- As U.N. weapons inspectors continue their search for weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and the Bush Administration calls on Saddam Hussein to disarm, the White House is facing increasing pressure from the media and other groups to reveal evidence proving Iraq does, indeed, possess such weapons.

In Wednesday's inspections, according to information supplied by the IAEA, UNMOVIC teams inspected government office buildings adjacent to a Presidential compound in Baghdad. The team did not go inside the Presidential compound. Another multidisciplinary team went to the north of Tiklit by helicopter to inspect the Tiklit Munitions Depot. A UNMOVIC chemical team inspected three sites: the Saad State Company in west Baghdad, which is a design center for refineries; the Khan Dari Stores, a storage facility, 40 miles northwest of Baghdad; and the Nassr Al Adheem State Company, which is a heavy equipment manufacturer, 10 miles west of Baghdad.

An UNMOVIC missile team traveled 80 miles south of Baghdad to inspect the Al Ameen Factory, one of the plants belonging to the Al Rasheed State Company. The factory was involved in the BADR 200 solid propellant missile project before 1991, and has since been responsible for the fabrication of motor cases and nozzles for Iraq's other solid propellant missiles. The team then split into two sub-teams to verify information provided by Al Ameen staff during technical discussions. One sub-team visited the Al Rasheed SC Headquarters, about 30-minute drive from Al Ameen, while the other sub-team drove to the Al Zafaraniya Military College of Engineering, near the Al Rasheed Air Base.

If we were to discover that Saddam had destroyed all of his WMD and the accompaning research and development could one still make a case for regime change? I believe so. Saddam is a facist dictator guilty of unspeakable crimes against his own people and his neighbors. If he one day comes into possession of WMD he will use them and use them in such a manner as to jeopordize the security of the USA. The vital strategic interests of the USA would be served by establishing the first Arabic democracy in the region. Iraq is the most secular state in the region and with the possible exception of Iran would be the most prone towards democracy. We as a nation would benefit in the long run from establishing a free state in Iraq.
However, I do not think that this case needs to be made as yet. Saddam is undoubtedly in possession of WMD and I know that they will turn up eventually. Let us hope that they are found in time to silence our critics.

President Bush has wanted to go after Saddam Hussein from the very beginning. * According to Woodward's "Bush at War" Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz also pushed for this, saying that Iraq should be top priority. *The *National Security Council had been working on a "military option" against Iraq for months BEFORE the WTC attack.

The President says that they do have evidence and I believe him. *He has said that he will not be parading all their information unlike that of the previous administration. *

Also, I heard Tony Snow say that he'd been told by a high-ranking official, that they do have the "smoking gun" but leaking that information would cause the death of their informant(s).

If the media is howling; let them howl.
