(GOPUSA News) -- United Nations weapons inspectors discovered several warheads capable of carrying chemical weapons in Iraq Thursday. These weapons had not been listed by Iraq in its weapons declaration last December according to a U.N. spokesman in Baghdad.
However, a U.N. spokesman in New York later said they would wait until the evidence came in before making a judgment about whether the weapons had been listed in the report.
An Iraqi spokesman in Baghdad, Amir al-Saadi, denied that the weapons were not listed.
A senior adviser to Saddam Hussein, al-Saadi said the warheads were included in a 1996 declaration of Iraq's weapons programs and the same "type" was included in the 12,000-page declaration given to the Security Council on Dec. 7.
Amir al-Saadi said that the U.S. wants to make this "a huge finding related to mass destruction weapons."
