Good morning!
Ya gotta love http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/teddy.gif! Santorum made those comments in an on-line column in 2002. Ted's always been a little slow on the uptake. It's always funny to hear Teddy pontificating on anything involving faith or morals, considering he seems to have little of either. Yep, I'm sure Rick Santorum's going to lie awake at night worrying about Teddy's opinion.
Stormy, an annulment doesn't affect the legal status of the children or their place in the Catholic Church. It doesn't make them illegitimate.
About "South Pacific" - it was Mary Martin (Larry Hagman's mother) and Ezio Pinza on Broadway. Mitzi Gaynor and Rossano Brazzi did the movie.
Cheesecake, I'll take care of the "blue critters." I think Danny's still around, if he wants to help.

Hello all,
I attended mass this morning and had one of the most memorable sermons to date by the priest. He spoke about why we have good and evil and how God allows evil to exist. I think we could spend hours and many MBs of discussion here, but without evil, we would not understand or recognize good. God is calling us to do good, it's our choice to do so. He spoke of this in recognition of the London bombings. When we become mindless followers of the dogma of one party or another without truly understanding what we believe, we blind ourselves. I see this in the hatred of many of the conservative forums on the net and even from some of our leaders. I am happy this forum exists for us to speak our mind, but we are all civil to each other even when we disagree.
Ciao and see you in the States Thursday.
Joe

stormy ~ it looks like Emily is going to hit Mexico unless it takes a northerly turn. My thoughts and prayers go out to anyone in the path of this storm. It's a strong CAT IV and may reach V. Watched the History Channel last night and there was a documentary on "Isasc's Storm" ~ the hurricane that wiped out Galveston in 1900. 6000 people died. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif ~ Back then they had no warning system.
As for DerAlte, he told us it would probably be a month before he was done moving. It's probably not just the move, but all the incidentals that go along with the move. Selling one home and purchasing another can be a daunting task. If his font doesn't show up here in a week or two, I'll call him.
Hi Joe ~ IMO, the pastor is right about the "good" and "evil" thing. God, in his infinite wisdom gives us plenty of rope to hang ourselves. He has given us the book of instructions on how we can overcome evil with good. It's not like we don't know the rules. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin2.gif

What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? How would you "fix" it?
Illegal Immigration, be it Northern Border or Southern Border, but particularly the Southern Border. I would deport any illegal alien without the proper ID (esp. if they were pregnant). I would constantly be investigating all employers who hire aliens. If an employee is caught without his or her "green card" or are illegal in any other way, they get deported, and the employer pays a 5,000 dollar fine per employee. I would force colleges/schools to notify INS immediately if students don't show up or miss classes or cancel classes. They do it for our Veterans who are getting VA benefits to go to school, why can't they do it for any aliens? And, if someone was illegal here they get no benefits, no school, no health care, no driver's license, no nothing. Maybe they wouldn't be eager to come here illegally.
Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
Yes. They grow up so fast. In some countries where I have lived they are considered grown at 14. My children grew up traveling (Air Force Brats), and were both travel savvy.
Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? Have you bought/read any of the others?
You Betcha! I have read them all! I think it is important to discuss all reading materials with your children. The Harry Potter books have some excellent plots, and kids love reading them, as much as adults.
Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? If so, where?
I like both. Home is where you hang your Heart. Dad was in the Army so we traveled quite a bit. Home was always where the family was. I love this country and it makes no difference to me where I live as long as my family is nearby.
How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space?
30, and I use most of them regularly.
What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper? None right now.
If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
Probably back to alaska. I missed so much the first time we were there. Would love to cruise the inner passage for one thing.
Where did you spend your last vacation?
Spent almost a month driving out to Portland and back to attend the National Square Dance Convention. Visited with friends and relatives the whole way out and the whole way back. Great trip!
Do you play computer games? What is your favorite?
My goodness yes! Would you believe that my son made me buy my own computer so he could have his back. That is how he hooked me. I started with Spades, but love other games too. Bejeweled, rocket mania, mozaki blocks, collapse, slingo are just a few of my favs.

Morning everyone! Gotta be brief, just long enough for trivia, then off to the showers and church...
What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? How would you "fix" it?
1.The borders. I would man them until INS can get their shod together. Make it like customs, everywhere. All Along The Watchtower.
Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
2. Yes. Travel is a luxury and opportunity is rare.
Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? Have you bought/read any of the others?
3. Nah.
Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? If so, where?
4. The ocean, without question. We fell in love with Lucerne and Lindau. Both in Switzerland.
How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space?
5. Beats me. Guess they're just taking up space.
What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper?
6. It's a beautiful mauve adobe house with dried flowers and striking blue window.
If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
7. See #4.
Where did you spend your last vacation?
8. Touring Europe: France, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
Do you play computer games? What is your favorite?
9. I used to play Mah Jong or whatever that tile matching game is called. Don't have it anymore and solitaire is too boring.
Okay, not much to offer on that one for the Froufer. Must be gettin' old!

Good Morning All:
First Trivia:
1. What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today?
I'd have to say it's the, libral led, breakdown of moral values and the turning away from our Judeo/Christian roots.
How would you "fix" it? I would put prayer back in school, I'd support religious institutions that backed family/moral values, and the government stand on religion would be: Religions of peace and family values will be allowed to promote their agenda in any way as long as they do not violate the laws of the land, but religions that do otherwise would be subject to government regulations. The details would have to be worked out and "common sense" should prevail.
2. Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
Yes! If I approved of the circumstances.
3. Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book?
No!
Have you bought/read any of the others?
No!
4. Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else?
Yes to all! Any beautiful place would be nice.
If so, where?
Lake Tahoe or Hawaii would be nice.
5. How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer?
About 30.
Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space?
Fairly regularly.
6. What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper? *
Dark blue background.
7. If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
Ireland and Scotland.
8. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Key West Florida and Las Vegas this year. North Carolina Outer Banks in September.
9. Do you play computer games?
No, no, no! My time is too valuable.
What is your favorite? *See Above.
OK, I'm off to read posts.

.What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? *How would you "fix" it?
If we are discussing internal issues,(1) Our Borders, and (2) its the Left Wing, who is so pig headed, they would destroy their own country from within, to prove they were BEST.
From without, it's Terrorism.
How would I fix it? *I do not have a clue.
My ideas are generally to violent for typing.
*Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
Absolutely NOT. *Absolutely NOT before the Natalee Holloway tragedy.
I believe the opportunity to travel is a wonderful one, but obviously Chaproned Trips are not that, nor were they when my Kids took trips with the school........there was always a problem......they can wait and go when they are ready to take responsibility for themselves.........
*Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? *Have you bought/read any of the others?
YES, eventually. *I have all the books.....from the beginning in a set, unopened......the last one hard cover and I will purchase the other hard cover......I will wait for the details in the Movie....... http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif *
*Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? * If so, where?
My Oceanside Property was supposed to be my retirement home. *Somewhere along the way I married a landlubber, who lives on a family farm estate in the middle of the Ozarks in the Middle of the woods.....in the middle of the country..........so, I'd rather live here. *We are always open though, to changed minds/situations.
*How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? *Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space? *
Forty (40), including those IMPORTANT ONES......most just take up space.....and now that it's been brought to my attention, I will d and d them into the trash can.
*What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper? *
My Cop Son, Dan, *is also a (cant think of the word...astronomy is root) photographer...has amazing cameras and telescopes...thus today its the MOON ......when only half of it shows......beautiful photography.
*If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
Today, with my mission in mind, I want to take the Civil War Tour, and get a refresher course in how, what, when, why and where
*Where did you spend your last vacation?
I don't EVER take a vacation......so: I spent 8 weeks in the San Fran Bay Area last Fall.....when my Mother had Hip Surgery. *That will be my next vacation if only her Primate Primary Care Person, can get his act together, for hip number 2..
Other than that, its day trips for supplies and/or truck parts, and a drop down into Branson for a Dinner and Show.
The Norm for me, is traveling back and forth to California several times a year for 2 weeks at a time, inbetween business things......now with a laptop I can travel and do that business with help of hard copy work at home by hubby........I wouldnt have a clue, how to take a vacation.
Actually....the only time hubby and I went someplace together, in 25 years, was in Oct 2003, when we drove to Tucson, to spend time with Son, Mike, before he went to Iraq, for all of 2004.
*Do you play computer games? *What is your favorite?
Yes. *Hehehehehe........I play one......when Im nervous...lol.....FR EE CELL....is that a computer game?
<span style='color:red'>Thanks Primrose.......for the Mary Martin info. *I was just so DUH last night.......I remember seeing that show in the Opera House in San Francisco.......when I was 11 years old. *Now you know how old I am......ekkkkkkkkkk. lol.
And, I will check out what my Senators DIDN'T do.........I write/email them regularly re: anything with trucking/tolls/highways/ etc........and this slipped by me.....now I will have opportunity to rant...and threaten Ill encourage Mrs. Carnahan (almost a neighbor) to run again. I can't type in here what I think of some of these women who take over HUSBANDS office when HUSBAND dies...and over night they become PROFESSIONAL......es pecially when you knew them WHEN. * I thought Talent had talent. *And Bond is an old friend.........I remember him best when we worked so hard to make him Governor......in the '70s. * * * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yikes.gif</span>
Since Ive already posted....last night? this morning?.....I'll take up no more space...........
Im off to read the forum and other message boards, after filling my cup, and taking a real SLOW SUNDAY approach to everything.
Today.......I have this feeling of I don't give a chit............its a great feeling........ *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

It's judges, of course. We can pass a boatload of laws and it won't do a bit of good if the courts overturn them. The president could station the entire military on the border but he can't keep them there if the courts say no. The same thing applies to every other issue. Nothing can be fixed unless we have constructionist judges. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif

I take it we are talking about Natalie. First, I recognize that almost all high school graduates have reached the age of 18 by the time they graduate and can be counseled but do not have to be "allowed". I think the trip was safe if the rules were followed. If any young lady leaves her friends to go to the beach in the middle of the night with 3 young men she doesn't really know then she could get killed on a beach in Florida or California. This is not safe behavior anywhere in the world.

Good Morning, All,
Good ???s Prim, now for my answers.
Someone always says the good stuff before I get to(snivle, whine).
What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? How would you "fix" it?
A while back I would have said illegal immigration, or getting a conservative judge on the bench...but now I'm beginning to think we'd better be looking for someone to run against Hillary in "08. It's just so scary to think of her in the White House!
Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
Only if I went along!!!!!I could take out King Kong to protect one of my kids or grandkids!
Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? Have you bought/read any of the others?
NO! & NO!
Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? If so, where?
I live a couple of miles from Lake Michigan, which is kinda like being near the ocean. I love being near big water, so the ocean gets my vote....with a cottage in the mountains for a get-away place.
How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space?
Never counted them, never use the little space takers.
What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper?
Grandchildren pix....surprise.
If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
Ireland.
Where did you spend your last vacation?
On an island in the Mobil Bay area and then Birmingham, Al....camping.
Do you play computer games? What is your favorite?
Yes, but only when I'm tired, so I play the easy, simple ones. (the kiddie ones, like Tumble Bees, Shape Shifter, Pop and Drop)
Have a great day, BBL

Well, church was wonderful and I've had my little lunch, so I'll do Trivia and then the only thing left for my afternoon is tape the American LeMans race on CBS at 3:00...shameful commercial! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif *Actually, I have more comments on that, but at the end.
1. What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? *How would you "fix" it?
Evidently one can't name just one as being "the" most important because so many of them rely on another being fixed. *Make any sense? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif Terror, judicial appointments and borders all are so very important! I'm not smart enough to fix them or I'd run for office!
2. *Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
We allowed Amanda to go to Europe when she was 16 with a small group from her Christian school. *They went in conjunction with EF Tours and then we allowed her to stay in Rome for a week (after the others returned home) at the home of Catherine Bertini, who was the head of the World Food Program for the UN. *(You can google her and find out a lot about this amazing woman.) *Her husband is a free-lance photographer for National Geographic and it was a wonderful experience for Amanda! *You can bet it was well planned out and we trusted her completely...thank heavens she wasn't boy crazy, too!
3. *Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? *Have you bought/read any of the others?
No, but Amanda has them all and the newest one was delivered yesterday.
4. *Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? * If so, where?
In a perfect world a home near the ocean would not include the threat of hurricanes or Tsunamis...so I would rather live in a perfect world near the Ocean...but alas....
5. *How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? *Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space?
If shortcuts are those little toolbar icons at the side of my screen then I have 11 showing and of those I only use about 4 on a regular basis. *
6. *What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper?
I have the beautiful island scene that came with Windows XP with the cool blue ocean and a little island with 3 http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/palm.gif trees and a sailboat. *It's my mental vacation!
7. *If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
To as many Jimmy Buffett Concerts as possible...front row, center with backstage pass, of course. *Of course, I'd have to go without Kerry...not a JB phan!
8. *Where did you spend your last vacation?
We only get long weekends as vacations... http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif *but we actually got to spend our anniversary together last year and went to St. Augustine. OOOOOooooo...big whoop! *However, we are planning to have me join Kerry in California after their last race of the season and then we are going to visit the Sonoma area and go see the Reagan Library...maybe...if they can get me on an airplane...undrugged . http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
9. *Do you play computer games? *What is your favorite?
Yes...I'm sort of addicted to Spider. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif
Now, about the race thing. *Yesterday Kerry said that a crew member of another team was very seriously injured. *Seems that one of the big air bottles' regulator blew off and rocketed into this guy that was sitting on a crew cart, removing most of his leg. *The guy is young and I am requesting your prayers on his behalf. *This is just one more of those things that reminds me of how dangerous Kerry's job really is...there but for the grace of God! *I'll put this request in the Prayer Thread, also. *I don't know this guy's name, but God does.
Well, off to nose around for a while.
Hi Billy! Hi Stormy! *Hi Rory...you busy, busy man! BTW...Sarasota is where I'd live if I could live near the ocean...rather the Gulf. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

It was in the Grand Ballroom of The Kauai Beach Radisson (where we were staying!) and we got to see it for FREE because we attended a timeshare presentation. The sets were excellent, and since there was no curtain, the actors changed all the sets in the dark between scenes The Polynesian Woman who played Bloody Mary was absolutely fabulous and Emile was played by the head of the music department at Kauai Community College. The entire score was performed LIVE on electric piano . I talked to the music director/accompanist afterwards and he said it had been possible to use tracks or MIDI files for the full orchestral effect, but the singers begged him to do it live so they could interact with him and have his playing be part of the performance. It was TERRIFIC. And I am VERY fussy. ALSO there was FOOD!!!!!! And free MAI-TAIS! Can life get any better than this?http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif??
Now for TRIVIA!
1. What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? How would you "fix" it? (MORAL RELATIVISM. ALL THE OTHER PROBLEMS WOULD BE SOLVABLE IF WE COULD GET RID OF THIS ONE)
2. Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned? (NO. THERE ARE ENOUGH COOL THINGS TO DO IN THE USA.)
3. Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? Have you bought/read any of the others? (AHEM. I'M THE "FANATICAL, IGNORANT, DOGMATIC, BIBLE THUMPER WITH NO IMAGINATION" FROM THE HARRY POTTER THREAD, REMEMBER? AND TO SOLVE THE BIG MYSTERY, I DID READ THE FIRST BOOK)
4. Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? If so, where? (I WOULD LIKE TO LIVE MAUKA (TOWARDS THE MOUNTAIN) OF MAKAI (TOWARD THE OCEAN) YOU GUESSED IT...HAWAII!)
5. How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space? (TOO MANY AND YES)
6. What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper? ( A 12-FOOT HALF TON ALLIGATOR SUNNING HIMSELF ON A LOG . PICTURE TAKEN BY MY SISTER WHEN SHE WAS VISITING THE SEMINOLE REZ JUST 70 MILES FROM MY HOUSE.)
7. If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go? (NEED YOU ASK? I'LL GIVE YOU A HINT. IT'S AMERICA, AND IT COSTS A LOT TO FLY THERE.)

Moonbat Serenade
They stand at the gate
With a spate
Full of hatefull defience
They whine
And opine
Got complaining refined to a science!
"DOWN WITH SELF-RELIENCE!!!"
This Moonbat serenade.
They blame, and they claim
And defame the name of our Republic
They heed any screed
While they feed at the trough of the public!
These guys make me so sick!
This Moonbat Serenade!
Victims of conspiracy,
Perped by the Upper Crust!
The Bilderbergs, Tri Laterals,
Or Alien Lust
Who can you trust?
Each touch, an assault
Bush's fault, every storm, every blizzard.
It's all a disguise..See his eyes!
He's a man-eating Lizard
Or maybe a Wizard!
(Moonbat Serenade)
Cosmic Rays and viruses
Are poised for the attack!
And you must find
Shields for yoou mind
A tin foil hat
Is quite good for that!
When will you learn
Life is stern
You must earn your own living
Instead you accuse
And abuse
Those who do all the giving
They owe you a living!
Moonbat Serenade!

I love to write poetry/lyrics.....and I used to be quite good, as I had a large Greeting Card following......peopl e followed me to do PERSONAL cards for their friends and relatives......I demanded a brief discription of the receivers idiosyncracies (SP?).....and a picture......as I did the art work as well.
But throughout the years.....my poetry became nastier and nastier.......meanin g........only really crass words seemed to rhyme........
Oh well.....now I can do obscene cards, but.....I dont.......heheheheh ehhehe.

Guess I better answer my own questions before the dish goes down. It's raining http://www.getsmile.com/smilies/%5Ecad/cat64.gif and http://www.getsmile.com/smilies/%5Ecad/dog50.gif
1. I have to agree with Terri, even though my heart screams illegal immigration and terrorism, it we don't get some "constitutionalist" judges, everything else is moot. Liberal activist judges are doing just as much damage to this nation as illegal immigration and terrorism. The PBA ban is a classic example. President Bush signed it into law and some liberal judge rendered it useless. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif
2. If my teenager was 18, and living at home, I'm afraid he/she would have to abide by my rules. I'm not big on going out of the country, especially now with the world in turmoil. If he/she was under 18, I would try and make him/her understand that there are many wonderous things to see and do right here in the good old http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag19.gif
3. No and No.
4. I lived near the ocean most of my life, both in California and here in Florida and now that I live inland, I really miss it. But I love the mountains and would love to spend half my time near each. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif
5. Ahem! http://www.fancysplace.com/smileys/angel01.gif Seventeen and I use them all. However, I must admit that I cleaned them up just before I asked this question. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrinangelA.gif Like Terri, I made a folder in my documents and moved most of them there.
6. Snow tiger.
7. I'd love to go back to DC and spend time seeing all the things I missed. I love our American history and the heritage that resides there.
8. Haven't taken a major vacation in a couple of years. Just take mini-ones two or three times a year. The last "biggie" was my trip to Branson.
9. Chess and flight simiulator.

VERY FRUSTRATING.
My WINDOWS UPDATES are up to date as well.

See question 6
I guess that I had better help Katy and cheesy with their Outlook Express problem. First I am going to ask a couple of questions. Did you highlight the ones that you wanted to delete? Are any of them over 1mb? How many messages do you have.
Ok now that is taken care of 1. Highlight about 20 at a time and then hit the delete button. If that works, keep on doing this until they are all gone. 2. Save the large ones until you have deleted the others and then do step 1 again.
Geez M-L you have a franchise going there. Soon you will beat out John Lennon and Paul McCartney for the most prolific songwiter title. One of those songs is bound to get you a platinm record to hang on the wall of your studio.

Go into preferences and see if there is an automatically delete after so many days button checked. If not check it and set the amount of days that you want these messages to remain.

Good evening, all!
Well, I go back to work tomorrow. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif *On a purely selfish level, I hope they really missed me, since I like the people I work with (and for).
1. What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? *How would you "fix" it?
While I'm very concerned about the borders, I think judges are the most important. They need to be questioned closely regarding their view of the Constitution and how and when to apply it. Every legal case doesn't involve a Constitutional issue.
2. *Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
Yes.
3. *Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? *Have you bought/read any of the others?
We got the new one yesterday, and my son is about halfway through it. I've bought the others and read parts of them.
4. *Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? * If so, where?
Mountains
5. *How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? *Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space? *
Well, I went through them and deleted some before I answered this, but there are still about 30. We use about half of them regularly.
6. *What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper? *
Nothing
7. *If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
Great Britain
8. *Where did you spend your last vacation?
D.C. and Williamsburg. If you have the option, don't go in the summer. Go in cooler weather, but go. D.C. is a fascinating place.
9. *Do you play computer games? *What is your favorite?
Mah-Johngg and pinball, sometimes. But since I found http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif I don't play games as much anymore, unless it's Song Uno. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
Prim, I love the old musicals. I've never seen them on Broadway, but I've bought some of the CDs, just to hear the original voices.

Katy, all I can tell you is what works for me in regards to deleting read messages.
Left click on your last read message,it should highlite it.Then using your left index finger, hold down the left shift key, using your right index finger, hold down the up arrow. This will highlight all the messages that you have read. When this is done, take your fingurs off the key board,go up to the delete button on the right side and press it.In a few seconds all of your messages will be deleted. Then you go to your deleted items folder and do the same thing. You have just freed up a little space on your hard drive.
Like I said,Don't know what others do,this works fine for me.
Good luck and good night.........

My computer has been out of commission all afternoon, We ran several Spyware scans, the Norton, etc, deleted 47 trackers (this is after i ran adaware TWICE yesterday!). Mike was mystified. The paticular problem was one he had never encountered before. Whenever we would click on ANYTHING, it would instantly undo! I thought I was going to have to get a new computer. It was very upsetting. We went downstairs, had a pizza and watched a movie, and then I came back upstairs, and from across the room noticed that a small notepad was sitting on the "ESCAPE" button!

Hi Ya'll,
Surprise, surprise-I'm going to do this--even if the answers are dumb. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif
1. What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? *How would you "fix" it?
I'll go along with JUDGES--the more conservative, the better!
2. Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
Since all of my kids are grown up, this will be fairly simple, but probably if I could afford it. * Of course, before some of my siblings had children, I heard a jillion times what their kids would never do and they always did once they had them. lol
3. Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? *Have you bought/read any of the others?
NO
4. Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? * If so, where?
I like living within 60 miles of the ocean--nearly always a breeze, so we can at least breathe, no matter how hot it gets----I got sick in the mountains of Colorado the one time I was there from the height, I reckon.
5. How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? *Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space? *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif
WAY TOO MANY, but some are from recordings I made of seminars last weekend and as soon as I'm sure, the copies I sent off are good, I'll delete those, but not many more. lol
6. What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper? *
The green field that came with Microsoft on XP.
7. If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
Until my legs are stronger, don't need tickets, but have wanted to go down under for a long time to NZ & Australia.
8. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Way too far back, but suppose it was to Minnesota in late October and it was already icy!
9. Do you play computer games? *What is your favorite?
Yes, Slingo Bumpers and I leave it open and play between working. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif
Ya'll have a good evening--good to see so many out today! *

What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? *How would you "fix" it?
My first response would be Illegal Immigration, but without Constitution-abiding judges on the Supreme Court, we can't deal with that effectively when Liberals and activist judges could overturn things and interpret things the way "they" see fit!
*Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
Oh, no. If they can't find some place in the good old USA to "celebrate", then they don't really need to go anywhere.
*Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? *Have you bought/read any of the others?
HA!HA! NO WAY. I think it's one of the silliest, most ridiculous frenzies ever. Plus, I'm not really interested on mystical-type things or what one woman's mind wants to portray in her books.
*Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? * If so, where?
I like both the ocean and the mountains but am happy right where I'm at. Wherever I am living is where I want to be and my home is where my heart is. It doesn't take a whole lot to make me happy in life because just being alive and healthy is the best thing you can ask for.
*How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? *Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space? *
I have no idea how many shortcuts I have, and I'm sure they're just taking up space anyway. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
*What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper?
Right now, it's still a flowery spring/summer scene. *
*If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
Anything that interests me or my husband as far as hobbies or favorite sports team games.
*Where did you spend your last vacation?
We haven't taken a 'real' vacation in years, but the last place we went to was Ocean City, Maryland.
*Do you play computer games? *What is your favorite?
I don't generally play computer games, but whenever I'm that bored, I just play solitaire.

The Commodore & his Lady unto the Forum: greetings.
Today's Trivia Questions rate separate essays in the appropriate column. The Commodore's tendency to cut loose sometimes exceeds the capacity of his poor old Win98, and definitely exceeds his vintage TRS-80 Model 4 (still the best all around computer in those old days; you could run C/PM, LDOS 5, LS-DOS 6, and TRSDOS 1 on it. And have a good time therein)! Hence he will have to forego the Trivia tonight -- he tried earlier, but it killed his computer! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
Last week, the Commodore's Lady had her court case with Social Security Administration -- the hearing before the Administrative Law Judge. Her advocate persuaded the SSA Rehabilitative counsel, but the Judge has to recommend approval, and the appropriate board has to approve as well. If it were the State level, the Commodore could appeal based on the law and the Order (simply a fair hearing), but this is Federal and there are different rules. And delays. It would be the height of irony that the Commodore's Lady would be awarded her SSD pension on Patriot Day (not yet a Federal holiday, but it deserves to be in the tradition of Armistice Day, November 11).
Now to the threads.

Three days I have been putting together a "swing set" for my grandson, and I am not through yet. I may have another day or two before I finish it. I will finish next weekend, I hope!
My wife and I went out to eat BBQ tonight at Dickies. It's pretty good Texas BBQ.
We still have our 7 house guests until August 9 or a few days later. They found a house, but we have to wait until the closing. God, please give us strength. Actually, they are excellent guests.
They went to Six Flags Texas yesterday and the kids had a great time. They didn't get home until 1:00 AM.
A few more posts and I'm ready for bed.
Good night! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif

Just checking in and of course TRIVIA!!
1) What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? How would you "fix" it?
a) Ignorance re: our history and intention of Founders
b) No revisionism in the schools at any level of education
2) Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
No, unless chaperoned by US...this goes for Spring Breaks as well...sending young ones off to PARTY in a foreign land is just asking for trouble IMO...
3) Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? Nope.
Have you bought/read any of the others? Nope.
4) Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else?
We live near the mountains and love it...just far enough away to miss out on the snow, fires, mudslides, but close enough to visit anytime (about 20 minute drive).
5) How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space?
Meaning "favorites" or "bookmarks"? About 50...some are used regularly, some infrequently...but don't want to lose the links.
6) What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper?
None.
7) If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
Washington DC to the Smithsonian for about two weeks...it would have to include free hotel room.
8) Where did you spend your last vacation?
Bahamas~ Atlantis, WONDERFUL!! Can't wait to go back!!
9) Do you play computer games? What is your favorite?
Online poker...play money.

GOOD EVENING EVERYBODY.
Short time today, so will "do" Trivia first:
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr class="standard"><td>Quote </td></tr><tr class="standard"><td class="QUOTE">
1. What do you consider the most important issue facing our nation today? How would you "fix" it?
***** I think the appointment of some good Constitutional conservative judges is one of the most important. Then the borders...BOTH OF THEM.
2. Would you allow your teenage daughter/son to go to a foreign country to celebrate graduation from high school if properly chaperoned?
***** Probably not...at least not in today's world atmosphere.
3. Are you planning to buy the new Harry Potter book? Have you bought/read any of the others?
***** Egads, NO, NO, and HECK NO!
4. Would you rather live near the ocean or near the mountains or somewhere else? If so, where?
***** Since I live in Oregon (for now), I have both. I'm about 60 miles from the beach. However, there are some very nice coast towns where one can live both IN THE MOUNTAINS AND NEAR THE OCEAN since the "Coast Range" is exactly there...on the coast!
5. How many shortcuts do you have on the "desktop" on your computer? Do you use them regularly or are they just "there" taking up space?
***** More than I should have...I'd say about half the screen is icons.
6. What scene/picture do you use for your computer wallpaper?
***** the ocean thingy with the 3 palm trees and the yacht offshore. Came with XP.
7. If you could get free tickets to anywhere, where would you go?
***** Australia.
8. Where did you spend your last vacation?
***** Victoria, BC. Me'n my hot '88 'Stang convertible. The Canadian border guards pulled me out of line to search my car. I guess they thought it was the kind of car used by drug-runners. I had to laugh, and me a gramma!
9. Do you play computer games? What is your favorite?
***** Mah-Johngg - I have the advanced version that has many different kinds and styles of Mah-Johngg. [/QUOTE]
