HOUSTON, TX. (GOPUSA News) -- Few news stories have stirred as much controversy in the waning days of 2002 as the story of Baby Eve. Allegedly the cloned offspring of an undisclosed parent, Baby Eve is the claimed product of the cloning science of the followers of Rael, also known as Claude Vorilhon.

Wrapped in controversy and doubt, the Raelian cult has evoked outrage and condemnation from religious leaders, the scientific community, and world leaders alike. But who is Claude Vorilhon, the leader of this enigmatic group?

Born September 30, 1946 In Vichy, France, Claude Vorilhon is the product of an early Catholic education, later completed in a private boarding school in Ambert, France. Raised by his aunt and grandmother, Vorilhon was born in the first days following the end World War II in the seat of the Vichy government in France.

Vorilhon, according to some accounts, had a tempestuous youth. His education suffered while enrolled in the Catholic school in Puy, where he stirred a controversy by participating in the sacrament of Communion before being baptized.

While I find the whole "cloning" concept repulsive, the above philosophy does have some merit. http://gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tqrolleyes.gif Of course it will never come to fruition, but it would be nice if child bearing was, in many instances, more than a biological accident.
