Dick Durbin should be tried for treason for those inflamitory statements that put our troops in the "cross-hairs". He is a wart on the nose of humanity. All those "UNNAMED" sources come in handy to fuel their "partisan hackdom" agenda.

"Shame" is slowly disappearing in America and seems to hardly exist anymore.

If someone had said what Dick Durbin did yesterday, back in WWII, he would have faced a life of shame, if not treason.

I don't think there are many Dems with much "shame" left.

For whatever it is worth, "Shame on you, Dick Durbin!" *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif

Durbin and Dean, they go well together.
Yes, a lot of Democrat pols repeat the party line to some degree, but these two actualy seem to believe their own trash talk.
The official name for their ailment is anal-rectal inversion.

Actually, it's very simple. We simply need to use appropriate language. Henceforth Dickie Durbin need only be referred to as the "Distinguished Gentleman from Al-Quaeda", the "Star of Al-Jezeera" and the "Taliban's Own(ed) Talking Head".

I'm still not over Tennis Shoe Patty Murray explaining Osama Bin Laden's popularity with "the people of the Middle East" as the result of his building DAY CARE CENTERS.

Don't let either of 'em within arm's length of me.

Okay, I have had it. These dirt bag democrats comparing Gitmo to a gulag. The people in gitmo want AMERICANS DEAD-ALL OF US ! Why anyone from the USA who has been elected to represent the people of the USA is coming to the defense of these terrorists that want us DEAD is beyond the pale. Dirt bag Durban and the rest of these idiots that defend these terrorists scum need to be sent to a gulag so they can really compare the two.

It makes me sick...

If durbin made similar remarks during WWII, he either would have been executed or imprisoned for life, and very quickly.
What did durbin say after Mr. Berg was beheaded ?
Rangerrebew, Tokyo Rose is a good comparison for the level of durbin's remarks. I was to angry to come up with that name.
Does treason exist in our country anymore ?
durbin, a disgrace to the United States, along with ted, dirty harry, specter, and all the other anti-American dems and rino's.

Senator Durbin said:<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr class="standard"><td>Quote </td></tr><tr class="standard"><td class="QUOTE">If I read this to you and did not tell you that it was an FBI agent describing what Americans had done to prisoners in their control, you would most certainly believe this must have been done by Nazis, Soviets in their gulags, or some mad regime--Pol Pot or others--that had no concern for human beings. Sadly, that is not the case. This was the action of Americans in the treatment of their prisoners.
Senator, consider your fate had you made a similar statement against your government as a member of the German Reichstag in the 1930s, the Supreme Soviet, or the &quot;representative&quot; branch of Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge.

In any of those cases, Senator, you would have been painfully executed after your family had been publicly humiliated. You'd better understand that you're very fortunate to be an American. You're even more fortunate that the very military you are intent on ridiculing puts it on the line every minute of every day to ensure you can spew your hate.

Who does Dick Durbin *think he is anyway? This young upstart! I thought this was Tokoyo Teddy's job anyway...
(maybe there is a rift in the inner circle)

I would say if Durbin had a sense of honor or decency he should publicly apologize and resign. Then again, his remarks prove he doesn't. Too bad his constituents won't say boo about it.

Welcome Hammer and nice title ideas! How about this one: Dick Turban....

Rush says Dick's comments are already posted on Al Jazeera with loving editorial comments.

Using what the ENEMY is saying about Gitmo as weapons against the USA is REVOLTING! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/fire.gif

Edited to add: go back and read Calamity Jane's post -- ditto on THAT Jane!

Rush was all over this today on his show. He pointed out that Al-Jezzera is really broadcasting Durbin's comments.

The man should be charged with treason. No, not for protesting. That is his job as Senator. The charge should be for using the media to give aid and comfort to the enemy with public broadcasts that inflame, distort, and bring harm to the U.S. and its military.

Comments like his are for &quot;closed&quot; hearings or to be done in non-inflamitory debate on the floor of Congress or in committee meetings.

I've been struggling with this, trying to remember that there was something that effectively said that Congressmen couldn't be held liable for what they said on the floor. I finally found this in the Constitution:

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr class="standard"><td>Quote </td></tr><tr class="standard"><td class="QUOTE">Article I.
Section. 6.
Clause 1: The Senators and Representatives shall receive a Compensation for their Services, to be ascertained by Law, and paid out of the Treasury of the United States. They shall in all Cases, except Treason, Felony and Breach of the Peace, beprivileged from Arrest during their Attendance at the Session of their respective Houses, and in going to and returning from the same; and for any Speech or Debate in either House, they shall not be questioned in any other Place.
I personally believe that what he said was treasonous, but it would be tough- especially given this clause- to prosecute.

However, there is also this little-known and little-used gem:

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr class="standard"><td>Quote </td></tr><tr class="standard"><td class="QUOTE">Article I.
Section. 5.
Clause 2: Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, punish its Members for disorderly Behaviour, and, with the Concurrence of two thirds, expel a Member.
Perhaps we can lobby our Senators to punish him for his reckless statements?

There is a thread in the Congress forum with links to articles that contain his full remarks and his refusal to apologize.

Dirt Bag Durbin is representing who the dems really are. No need to email and demand an apology....this is the true feeling of democrats...antiwar, blame the US military, sympathize with the enemy, critisize the military...same old paybook as how they treated vietnam...
the dems are weak, pacifists blame amerika firsters...they really are a sad group....

They need to get their heads out of their a$$es if they think thats how the majority of Americans feel.

I'm stil big time po'd at the whole thing...

For Dick Turban (thanks Duncan) and the others on the bandwagon; I have a challenge. I will allow myself to be subjected to the same treatment the prisoners at Gitmo receive for a full two-week period. In exchange, I get two HOURS to demonstrate ON them, the real, documented techniques used by such luminaries as Saddam's sons, the Nazis, or Uncle Joe's boys.
Whataya say, Dick? Teddy? Howie? Anybody want to back up your words? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/flag4.gif
