Good Morning! Welcome to the Precinct on this Palm Sunday http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bible.gif and the first day of Spring. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/daisy.gif I think we've finally sent all the snow to Wisconsin so it's looking like a nice springy week for this part of the country. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Congress is doing it's best to pass a joint bill that will protect Terry Schiavo by reconnecting her feeding tube. President Bush has been at his ranch in TX but will fly back to DC today to be available to sign the bill. God bless these good people for trying but we understand that the final disposition is still up to the courts. Anything can happen there. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/lookaround.gif
A 7.0 earthquake hit Japan last night and a tsunami warning was issued for people to move to higher ground although it didn't sound anything like the last one. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yikes.gif
The Dumbocrats sent a letter to Lamar Alexander which said, "We are writing to ask you to step aside as chairman of the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct." Just one little problem, Rep. Doc Hastings chairs the Ethics Committee and the last chairman was Joel Hefley. Ah well, nothing like living up to your logo. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jacka.gif
Since thousands of people spent their Saturday in streets around the world protesting democracy I thought some of you might like this.
Some of you may have seen this posted around the Internet like I did. It's a good reminder of how fortunate we are. Compare and be glad! (http://www.livejournal.com/users/zete_tic/329.html)

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/2.gif
<span style='color:green'>What is your favorite chip? Tortilla, cheetoh, potato, etc., etc., *Notice, this doesn't ask whether or not you eat said favorite chip.</span>

HOWEVER.....before I sign off, I want to say that I think that Rita Cosby should get the "BIG MOUTH INSENSITIVITY AWARD" of the year. She had the classless temerity to ask Jessica Lunsford's poor grieving grandfather "have you been shown or told what Jessica went through in her last moments." If I thought this fat bag of wind was worthless before, I double it in spades now. I think she'd sell her mother for a scoop/story. Disgusting. Good morning all.
I spent the last day of winter at the nursing home with my mother. All of her kids were there along with some of her grand kids and her one great grand baby. Mom went to be with my dad five minutes before spring officially arrived. The day started with bright sun shine in the morning and ended with rain, lightning and a threat of hail. All through the day one or two of the other residents would come in and sit on the other bed or lie down and go to sleep. One Mexican lady who thinks I’m her father and speaks Spanish to me brought her daughter in. The daughter was a very nice lady; she asked if she could sing to my mother and sang “Amazing Grace”. My younger brother sang to Mom too and my wife read the bible to her. Mother could only respond with the slightest eye movements but she seemed to be able to hear us and know that we were there with her. It was a sad but a day of spiritual freedom for my mother.

Well that's done for another week.In all honesty,we should have this every other day,I realy enjoy some of these questions. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
I have a question, whatever happened to Tonja and ghoastwalker?? I have not read them in awhile,or have they switched handle's?Both have a rather unique way of responding to a subject, somewhat like our little Ms.Cheese, who is very funny at times. When I read her,it reminds me of the Everlasting Bunny commercial,It just keeps on going and going. * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rotflo.gif
I did notice in yesterday's threads,it got somewhat contentious for awhile. However,it's very good to read differences of opinion on any subject. That's what is so great about this place,we can disagree with vitriolic emotion and still remain friends. Not like the other side of the isle,ie,Hanoi Jane and Slimeball Kerry.
That's it from up here in double k land. Here's hoping that poor little feeding tube girl's husband rots in hell..............:-(

GR, my heart goes out to you. I spent many years ministering to the elderly by singing to them. I know in my heart that they could hear me, and as Director of Theraputic Recreation, I made sure my patients had music all the time. My patients included many Holocaust Survivors who had now come to the end of their lives. I will never forget one day I stood at the bedside of a man named Baruch and sang "Rhozhinkes Mit Mandelin" (Raisins and Almonds)to him in Yiddish. An RN came in the room and said, "Why are you bothering? Baruch can't hear you, and you're wasting your time!" Instantly, Baruch turned his head in her direction and glared at her. Then he turned back to me and smiled. I dutifully notated this activity in the Cardex (Medical records) and was rebuked by the medical staff for misinterpreting "reflex behavior" as "activity" and was told that , as an unlicensed person, I had no legal right to consider my work as "therapy". Oh well that was twenty years ago. Water under the bridge. Baruch is in heaven now, but when I get there I'll ask him if his smile was real or just "Reflex behavior". Pardon my rant, but a lot of the things people say about Terri Schiavo reminded me of this incident.
Here's my Trivia answers:

A very blessed Palm Sunday to all!!
John 12:13 They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting, “Hosanna!
Just got back from church, Katrina has a bug, so I went to early service, and Misty and Cassandra are going to late morning.
I did remember to bring her back a palm fraun (fraun?? Hmmm...) Well sorry if it's spelled wrong.
Cool mornin here in Kansas, 35 deg. but it looks like a great day ahead.
Gotta get the coffee perkin, Seems the wife took advantage of sleeping in today. Can't say I wouldn't have done the same.
May the LORD bless you and keep you;
the LORD make his face shine upon you
and be gracious to you;
the LORD turn his face toward you
and give you peace.
Have a great day everyone!

First the Trivia then I'll go back and read the scintilating (as well as titilating) erudite posts from everyone else.
Oh wait - first a cookie (low fat of course) - ah now I am ready for trivia:
Do you wear glasses or contacts?
****Depends upon what I am doing.
What is your favorite chip? *Tortilla, cheetoh, potato, etc., etc., *Notice, this doesn't ask whether or not you eat said favorite chip
****Cape Cod Potato Chips (http://www.capecodchips.com /) *I buy the reduced fat variety which are even better than the full fat - they're crispier. *
Do you attend musical presentations or go to concerts, (orchestral or voice), plays, theater presentations? *In other words, do you have any culture? LOL Just kidding!
****I am uncultured, however, going to the theater has always been a BIG part of my life.
What is your favorite musical instrument to listen to?
****I love a full symphony orchestra. *But I would dearly love to just get into the percussion section and bang away on the kettle drums, clash the cymbols around, and generally cause havoc. *
Do you exercise in your home, or would you rather exercise outdoors or at the gym?
****I have never gone to a gym. *I exercise both in my home and out doors now that I am retired from ballet. *Otherwise, *it was always in a studio, 7 days a week, several hours every day. *Ah retirement!
Do you have any exercise equipment in/at your home? *What type?
****Statione/ary bike - which is my least favorite form of exercise.
What is your favorite commercial on tv? *(We could ask this question every week as much as they change *)
****Some of the Geico ads are really funny. *Especially, the one where she asks him if her dress makes her look fat.
What type grass do you have growing in your yard?
****grass only grows in the winter - otherwise we let it die.
Have you ever had surgery?
****Yes, arthroscopic surgery for a bone spur in my shoulder.

Good Morning!
As always, I will do the trivia first, so I am not influenced the others:
1. Do you wear glasses or contacts?
I wear contacts. I had lasik surgery and it did not correct to 100%. I only need contacts for close up.
2. *What is your favorite chip? *Tortilla, cheetoh, potato, etc., etc., *Notice, this doesn't ask whether or not you eat said favorite chip.
I love all chips. But, I guess my favorite would be the tortilla chip since you can add hot sauce, guacomole, or cheese and jalepeno to it. Also, they dip much better.
3. *Do you attend musical presentations or go to concerts, (orchestral or voice), plays, theater presentations? *In other words, do you have any culture? LOL Just kidding!
I have culture, it's just all low. Seriously, I like some cultural things, but as a general rule, it bores me quickly. I wish I had a love for it, but I was not subjected to it as a youngster enough to appreciate it.
4. *What is your favorite musical instrument to listen to? Guitar.
I also like flute music.
5. *Do you exercise in your home, or would you rather exercise outdoors or at the gym?
I exercise in my home. It's much easier and takes less time. A tread mill is a must when weather is bad. In good weather, I will go running outside along the creek near our home. I do my weight training at home also while watching TV, usually the news.
6. *Do you have any exercise equipment in/at your home? *What type?
As mentioned above, a tread mill.
7. *What is your favorite commercial on tv? *(We could ask this question every week as much as they change *)
Not one, immediately comes to mind.
The one I hate, is the one where Bob is always smiling. I like a lot of the Bud Light commercials for their humor.
8. What type grass do you have growing in your yard?
St. Augustine with weeds mixed in.
9. Have you ever had surgery? *
Only lasik surgery for my eyes.
I have always been very healthy. I pray that the Lord keeps me that way.

Good Morning Everyone!
So, now I've read all the posts in the precinct....
GR - my prayers are with you and your family.
Rita Cosby gets the all time award for insensitivity - I NEVER watch her - EVER.
Bridget Quinn gets the all time award for absolutely stupid questions. Just plain stupid. I avoid her, too.
It's a beautiful day outside. Rained overnight, but the sun is shining on the wet leaves.
Our neighborhood is having a street fair several blocks from my home. I will be avoiding it like the plague. Too much hoopla, too crowded and just not my kind of music.
Otherwise - walks today. Road is too wet for biking. Might do an extra self-inflicted ballet class too.
Lunch out....he chooses ....so it could be anything.
Last night as a relief from the day's news events we watched on TCM "Little Women" - from the early 1930's. Was really good. They are just not making those old time movies any more.
Well, I am off to partake of my meager breakfast. Actually, it's not too bad since I am putting strawberries on top of my cereal. I bought a bunch of blackberries too. But that's for later in the day.
Hope everyone has a most marvelous Sunday.

On the comment about Rita Cosby, I think pRim made it....I agree with you. *She is VERY annoying....her with all her "sources". *She's just so well connected...isn't she? Another one that bothers me is Nancy Grace on Court Tv...she also tends to ramble on at the mouth and not think about what she is saying! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif *
Ok...now for Trivia:
<span style='color:green'>1. I wear glasses most of the time, every now and then for a special occassion I'll wear contacts.

4. That's a tough one for me. *I like all kinds of instruments, it just depends on my mood. *Love guitar, love piano, love Sax, and love that flute music that is played by the Indians!
5. I walk on my treadmill when the weather is cruddy, but would rather walk outside or do gardening work outside.
6. As mentioned above, I have a treadmill.
7. I think it is a Toys R Us commercial where a mom brings home a Playstation game and comes through the door and yells at her kids that she has this game. *You see the kids running down the stairs, then you see DAD running and he leaps over the bannister and lands on the desk at the bottom...crushing it and falling on the floor. *Mom just stares at him in disbelief!
8. I have a lot of different grasses and weeds etc., in my yard. *It's an old yard and it needs to be totally taken out and replanted.
9. Thank the good Lord, I've never had any surgery other than my wisdom teeth. *I'm scared to death of the thought of it, so I hope that the Lord keeps me healthy, of course, it's a team effort. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bigsmile.gif *
Ok...well, I better get busy painting! *Did manage to get two walls completely finished yesterday!
It's 45 degrees in the sunshine this morning. *We did get rain yesterday eveing, and supposed to have more today! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif

Now, for the trivia...
1. Occasionally... I have a really light prescription for driving and computer work, and I actually do wear them from time to time, but not as often as I should.
2. Tortilla chips are more versatile than any other. I also like Pringles.
3. We occasionally go to the Gaslight Theater (http://www.gaslighttheatre. info/gaslight.htm), but I don't know if that counts as "culture".
4. I like many different instruments, but don't know that I could listen to any of them solo for any period of time.
5. I'm not possessed, so I don't need to exorcise.
6. See #5.
7. The ESPN commercial featuring Cinderella. I also like the Dick's Sporting Goods commercial with a piano playing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" accompanied by baseball sounds.
8. Weeds, but I should go take care of those.
9. Just wisdom teeth. If you're going to serve on a submarine, the Navy will remove any that haven't already come in. They got all four of mine in exchange for lots and lots of novocaine and a few really good pain pills.
Wait- I'm missing basketball. The Wildcats beat a very feisty UAB team yesterday, there were some other good games, as well, and I don't wanna miss a thing today.

GR, I'm sorry you lost your mother, but now she has regained your dad and I'm sure she's a lot happier now than the way she was. *
I saw on FOX this morning that Juan was saying the Republicans were politicizing the Schiavo case. *I said to him as patiently as I could, "Juan, I do believe they're finally listening to their constituents. *After all if you're elected by the people it behooves you to do their bidding." *Well, he couldn't answer that one so turned his head and started talking to Fred Barnes. *That's all right. *At least I got my http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twocents.gif worth in.
On to Trivia!!
Do you wear glasses or contacts?
* * Glasses, but only if I want to see.
What is your favorite chip? *Tortilla, cheetoh, potato, etc., etc., *Notice, this doesn't ask whether or not you eat said favorite chip
* * Tortillas or banderillas (personally I find the banderillas a little hard on my teeth).
Do you attend musical presentations or go to concerts, (orchestral or voice), plays, theater presentations? *In other words, do you have any culture? LOL Just kidding!
* * Culture, Laurie? *You mean like sour cream and yogurt? *Yes, I have that, but what has it to do with music? *I can't sing a note when I'm scarfing down sour cream and/or yogurt. *To answer your question. *Yes.
What is your favorite musical instrument to listen to?
* * The human voice.
Do you exercise in your home, or would you rather exercise outdoors or at the gym?
* * Exercise? * http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Do you have any exercise equipment in/at your home? *What type?
*
* * Yes, we have a coat hanger in our house, too. *It's an ergonomic bicycle. *I actually do use dumbbells. *And then when they get peevish I let them go.
What is your favorite commercial on tv? *(We could ask this question every week as much as they change *)
* * I hardly watch enough TV to know, but I did see a Burger King one with a black cowboy dressed in a spangled suit and with dancers and swingers and a regular 3 ring circus going on that I though was very funny for sheer bizarreness (if there is such a word.)
What type grass do you have growing in your yard?
* * Grass?
Have you ever had surgery? *
* * I used to work in a trucking company and if anyone had a question about the tractors or trailers we'd always say, "Ask John, in Parts". *That's me. *Charie, in Parts.
I just have to wonder how it is that the party of tolerance and compassion ends up on the side of sourly enquiring if congress isn't usurping states' rights by sticking their noses in the Schiavo case. *I think they should all be put in cages so they may be more carefully examined without danger to us.
Dave, was it you who enquired about the palm things? *I do believe you were talking about palm fronds, my friend.
I shall now do my exercise and jog around the forum.

Welcome to our new members. GR, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. Your mother was fortunate to have gone in peace, and with the love of her family surrounding her.
Mary-Lou, that was an interesting story about Baruch, and is obviously very relevant to the Schiavo case, as are all these other stories we keep hearing. You know, the medical community is just too darned ready to write people off as soon as they think someone "might" not recover. They despise anything that is not medical science, be it prayer, songs for the ill, or what have you. Lately, my opinion of certain doctors (and judges) is heading towards my general opinion (with some exceptions naturally) of trial lawyers. The 3 jobs where you would most expect to find compassion for people, seems to be where it is missing the most http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif .

I have just about given up on potato chips. I eat the "natural" Doritos blue chips, which are lower fat, and are made from organic blue corn http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif .

http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/4.gif What is your favorite musical instrument to listen to? Having been a pianist since I was 5, I naturally lean to the piano, and the great Russian composers works (Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, etc.). My next favorite instrument to listen to is the violin.
http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/5.gif Do you exercise in your home, or would you rather exercise outdoors or at the gym? An easy question. Meryl and I love our Total Gym we got ourselves last year. Why go to a gym when you can set your own schedule, and put in 15 minutes anytime it is convenient. http://www.mountainsnmore.n et/gopusa/trivia/8.gif What type grass do you have growing in your yard? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hair.gif St. Augustine. It is pretty much a standard yard grass in Florida. Not counting the many weeds mixed therein, of course.

States Rights.

I hear in other boards the disgust at the Feds for supoena'ing Terri, is overwhelming, .......what they seem to not understand is, they don't want Terri IN PERSON IN COURT, the supoena protects her, until something is settled, or she could go and testify. [which we know isnt ever possible, but in the meantime its a federal crime to tamper with her and her well being].
Whew......lemme take a breath......
The Prez is leaving Crawford now, and someone has called him a Grandstander, that he isnt interested in Terri's life or death situation, he just wants to push his power, and show the Dems that he is in CHARGE.

I watched the press conference with Mark Lundsford. I have to say that I was impressed with what he had to say. I hope that what happened to Jessica will motivate people all over the country to write and call their congressmen and women to make some dramatic changes in the laws concering sexual predators. If the so-called justice system is hell-bent on letting them out into society, they should at least be under house arrest and in an ankle bracelt monitoring system at all times, for the rest of their lives. I'd gladly take a hike in taxes to help pay for something like that. I'd rather see people like that under house arrest an in a bracelet than somebody like Martha Stewart. We need to get our priorities straight!!

....oh, and Bud, I don't know who you are referring to in your last post, but I already addressed this issue yesterday! I have no problem admitting I'm wrong or have made a mistake when I do, and I did!

The Commodore & his Lady unto the Forum: greetings.
We have been following both cases out of Florida: both Jessica & Terri.
Re Jessica: the Commodore is emotional on this issue, being a grandfather in his own right. He agrees with the father of Jessica, and wishes that The Lord God would do to the Sex Offender what He did to Er & Onan: the Lord smote them, that they died.
The Commodore confesses that he would like to be the one who pulls the switch when the Sex Offender is executed, but these endless appeals ad infintium et nauseam would spin this case longer than what has been going on in the Schiavo case (OK the Commodore got the message). Hence Jeb should commute the sentence to life without parole, so that a thousand guys named Bruno can have at the Sex Offender. In the words of Dr. William Nye, PhD UWashington, & Professor of Physics, UWashington:
BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!
BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!!!
Re Terri: we have here a paradox that is remaking political ideologies. Here we have the Democrats pushing for States' Rights as opposed to the Federal Jurisdiction, while the GOP, historically the party of States' Rights as, is pushing for Federal Jurisdiction! Such are the ways the Terri Case has changed the political landscape.
The Commodore has a favor to ask of The Lord God, viz.,
Almighty Lord God, Who is beyond Time and Space, Who spoke the Universe into being and sustains it through the Laws of Physics, Who grieves when even a sparrow falls, hear the prayers of the Commodore & his Lady -- indeed, all America -- for Terri Schindler Schiavo.
Lord Jesus, we know that You have a sense of humor at the follies of these stupid human worms, Judge George Greer, Michael Schiavo, & George Felos, who think they can even try and fathom You when they want to outdo You in sending Terri back to You. We know that Michael is spending the monies won in a court settlement by supporting a lady he wants and is living in sin with her, even unto the point of having two children by her. He wants Terri dead so that he can get the insurance money, and he can escape the American courts in the crime of murder. You know what he did, Lord; cause him to experience the full power of Your Vengenance, to which is Your Prerogatives. Indeed, the clear teaching of Scripture is Revenge, or Vengenance, is Yours. You will repay in local coin of the realm, as You did Pharaoh in Egypt, the Assyrians in Nineveh when they forgot what their ancestors did at the preaching of Jonah ben Amittai, Belzhazzar in Babylon, Pilate, the Herods, & the Jews in Jerusalem, and down through the ages unto this day -- and will through the ages to come. Let those things that George Felos & George Greer fear the most occur to them, for that is Your Prerogative to do so. Yes, be true, though every man a liar through Eternity.
Should, however, it is Your Will, Lord Jesus, that Terri go on to be with You, make the time short; turn off her heartbeat and take her on to Glory so that she can enjoy Eternity with You, and be on hand when You lower the boom on these three sons of Nabal. For Folly is their name, and Folly is with them. Let them experience terror on every side; may they not have a good night's sleep for the rest of their nasty, brutish, and short lives -- unless they repent.
All these things, Lord Jesus, the Commodore & his Lady ask in Your Name.
And all America present said:
A M E N .

Amen to that.
I would like to make one more comment and in the event that Terri does die as per her husbands wishes, then why don't we, as concerned people, go through all of our military and mental hospitals and kill all these people that are living on life support. I make several trips per month to our Veterans hospital at Toma, Wi. and see a number of people there that don't have any idea who they are or where they are. We have another place at King, Wi. where us veterans can go to die. Why can't Terri die when the Lord calls her.

My name is Torin, and I live in a suburb of Saint Paul, MN.
I just joined the other day as I was looking for a new forum to post at after the one I used to post at was closed.
I am currently a student at Century College to obtain my associate's degree and get my generals out of the way before I transfer to the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis campus). I plan on double-majoring in Communications and Political Science. Beyond that I'd like to attend the school of Educational Policy and Administration for my Master's degree -- with a licensure for principalship.
Beyond that my hobbies include reading, collecting old radio shows (American Top 40 is a favorite), following the Billboard charts, and broadcasting. In September 2002 I was a guest DJ on the Rhythm Countdown with Ellen K.
For the past 5 years I have been lucky to have a job at Metro Dance Center where I am the Technology Director and this Wednesday I actually have a job interview downtown Saint Paul, which excites me. I feel so lucky because unlike most people my age I haven't had to work in retail.
At school I am the president of the French Club and next year I am running for the position of "Director of Information Technology" on the Student Senate.
So that's a short summary of my life. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

AMEN to your prayer, Commodore Barrett .
And, I agree with those who have had such profound statements on Jessica's father, re: his grief, and his rough statements. *He will soon mellow, and hopefully be a voice for children who have been molested and killed by these horrible demented cretins. *Until he gains his composure, God Bless him and his family, in their time of sorrow.
And a very big welcome to you, TORIN.
Re: Terri, I have sent emails and faxes to my Senators, and my Congress Woman. *Bond, Talent, and Emerson. *They hear from me regularly.
I *am going to get my house in order, and my curlers in place, a cup of Jasmin tea in the little teapot, and snug up in my recliner, to see if there will be live TV re: the POLITICOS on the HILL at midnight. *Maybe standing my own little vigil for Terri, will take the barbs off my fence wire.

Good Early Evening, Ya'll!
I Just heard on the radio that the Senate had passed their bill by a unanimous vote--so, was it the house where they were blocking or the senate http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif * *And, that the HOUSE will vote right after midnight and the POTUS is on his way back from Crawford now! *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/twothumbsup.gif
Has everyone seen this video, already--I had never seen this site before, so maybe it will be new to some of you, as well:

Reckon it's time to show my ignorance and/or cleverness, once again--but, I could never match DannyD(arlin) or Stan- http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laff.gif
Do you wear glasses or contacts?
I have glasses for distance, but since I don't drive any more, I usually use them on the rare occasion that I watch TV--cataract surgery solved most of my problems in the eye dept. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif
What is your favorite chip? *Tortilla, cheetoh, potato, etc., etc., *Notice, this doesn't ask whether or not you eat said favorite chip
Tortilla, of course--only thing to eat refried bean dip with, aren't they http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Do you attend musical presentations or go to concerts, (orchestral or voice), plays, theater presentations? *In other words, do you have any culture? LOL Just kidding!
For many years was a member of community concerts which included all kinds of events-ballets, orchestras, pianists, plays, etc., etc. * But, not lately *
What is your favorite musical instrument to listen to?
I LOVE trumpet solos, especially sacred music renditions, but I also like the accordion--yes, I'm kinda wierd, I reckon--to each his own, huh? http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif
Do you exercise in your home, or would you rather exercise outdoors or at the gym?
OH, if I only could! * One never knows how important that is until you can no longer do any of it! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
Do you have any exercise equipment in/at your home? *What type?
Yes, but I don't know the name of it--also have some that has never been used! *Maybe I need to go to ebay! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif
What is your favorite commercial on tv? *(We could ask this question every week as much as they change *)
Don't watch enough TV to even know what is on there!
What type grass do you have growing in your yard?
Mostly bermuda grass, some carpet grass and, if it isn't mowed regularly, a goodly share of Johnson grass or other weeds!! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/shake.gif
Have you ever had surgery? *
Hmmm, do you want to hear about all of them or do you just want a http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif or http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/no.gif http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif *More than my share, probably, but nobody else wanted them, I reckon! Welcome, Torin! Glad to have you here.
My favorite part of Fox News Sunday today was the fact that Juan Williams was more incensed about baseball players using steroids than he was about Terri Schiavo being sentenced to die from dehyrdation. How I wish Charles or Brit had been there to demolish him, although Fred Barnes did a good job. Once again, I volunteer to give Juan a good smack upside the head! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smash.gif Join me, Charie? I know how much you love Juan!
Rory, glad you're feeling better! What about the pain you were having? Is that gone?

Welcome to the forum, Torin - but I already greeted you in another thread. However, two greetings are better than one!
Just got back from lunch at the Philadelphia Sandwich Shop where we had Philly Steak Sandwiches - otherwise known as soul food for expatriot Philadelphians.
Then browsed around a large mall. Not one sign of Easter anywhere. There was a person in a bunny suit all set up in the mall plaza (like Santa at Christmas), but even there no sign at all saying "Easter."
Well, folks there goes another holiday.
I hope to be fast asleep at midnight, but I can tell you that I find this whole thing by the congress and the president very very impressive.

I told my wife I am worried about the following scenario, which seems probable to me. The US House does pass a law that allows the tube to be reinserted, and the case goes at some point before a Federal judge. I have a bad feeling the judge would likely uphold the decision of the circuit judge, thus forcing the tube to come back out. The only way to truly get this settled either way, is to get it before the Supreme Court, and have the tube back in until they hear the case. I am not sure what they would come up with. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

That's the point of this entire exercise. If the federal judge orders teh tube back out, an injunction will be sought to keep it in while the case is appealed up the federal line of appeals all the way to the Supreme Court.
That's why they are doing this.

TGIm, I think you'd look smashing wearing a bandolier. * *However, I was just joshin' with my remark about the *banderillas. *They're long darts that are stuck in a bull's neck to weaken his muscles so he's not so likely to be able to *raise his head quickly and impale a bullfighter on his horns.
Now that I've explained it, I think I should *never use that word again. *I'm not woman of the world enough to appreciate that particular part of Spanish bullfighting. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/barf.gif
Torin, welcome to the http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/gopusa.gif forum. *It almost rhymes, but not quite.
The Hub and I went to a barbershop show about 50 miles away at which Colin's quartet was performing last night and didn't get home until 2:00AM so it's been a really laid back day today.
They sang superbly and the little guys I told you about sang with their mom and dad and with the chorus, too and just about brought down the house. *That 8 year old was born for the stage. *At the Afterglow Colin sang with them instead of their mom. *They'll be competing at spring convention/contest as "Hot Dog, Pop and Two Small Fries" (for those who didn't see it before).
Morpheus is acting up tonight (could be that late night last night) so I think I'm going to submit to his coaxing. *Seeya!

The House is in session as we speak on the Terri Bill. The Senate has passed it on voice vote. Opposition to Terri is primarily on the liberal side, primarily the Democrat Representatives of Florida.
May God be with the House and pass the bill so that W can sign it and the accompanying Executive Order to restore feeding and hydration to Mrs. Schiavo.

I just gotta share this with y'all before Terri slams the door on my nose!
I'm watching "10.0" which is a story about a series of 4 earthquakes on the west coast, beginning with a 7.7 and ending with "the big one" which will separate the California coast from the rest of the country.
Anyway, I just about busted a gut laughing when they had a simulated broadcast during the show that was announcing the evacuation, etc. of Los Angeles and they had that the President had declared "marshal" law during the evacuation.
The upshot and my point is that all of those Hollyweird fools make fun of our President and insult his intelligence, WHEN THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN a "MARSHALL" and "Martial" law.
Talk about a bunch of DUMBocraps. *Just thought y'all might get as much of a kick out of that little factoid as I did when I saw it!
It just leaves one shaking their head in wonderment, don't it?
