Washington Times had an article about Senator Bob Dole having to have rehab 3 times a week for a fall he had in January. "Supreme Court rejects House committee's request to reinsert Terri Schiavo's feeding tube after it was removed"
Looks like the maggot husband and his maggot lawyer will get their way.
It's not about money, it's not about putting her out of her misery.
There's something more sinister behind the death sentence the husband has wanted for this woman, and there's no other logical reason for him to want her DEAD - then immediately cremated, unless...
...He has something to hide, and he'll do whatever it takes to prevent it from being revealed... As another added bonus for the scumbag - an autopsy won't even be performed. How convenient!!

This I pray this day.
Thy Will Be Done.
Heavenly father, I do not understand much of what I have seen.
But if you will lead me,
I will follow.
I am a sinful creature,
But with your guidance, I am what you have chosen me to be.
Please be with me this day, and the days to follow.
May the Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit, guide, direct, and comfort me, as you prepare those around me for your ultimate conclusion.
I truly seek your guidance, and I pray for your wisdom, for those you have surrounded me with, and for myself.
In Jesus name I pray
Amen.
GOOD MORNING TO EVERYONE!
May this Saturday be a truly blessed day for each and every one of you!!!

I have been up off and on all night thinking about the terrible things going on and it's almost too much to bear. The innocent suffer and evil seems to be all around us. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad1.gif
Rev ~ my heart is heavy too. Like you, I shall PRAY, PRAY, PRAY.
Thank you for that lovely prayer CSchultz. I know there are thousands, if not millions, who are praying for strength and understanding. I know I am.
Mark 10:14 KJV
14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
Jessica will now have the love and peace that was denied her in mortal life. Terri may soon follow. Heaven always has room for more angels.

Sorry lpara, I must have misread something, I thought you said they did not recognize Living Wills where you are. Thank Goodness, I know I would rather have it in writing from me. I do not want to leave that burden on my husband or children.
Mrs. Barbara Bush, http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif What a classy lady. I remember when the media was twitting her about her hair color and fashion choices. She didn't back down, just said, (paraphrasing) 'This is me, if you don't like it don't look'

Good Morning All: Bright and sunny with temps to get into the mid to upper 60s today. With spring to show up tomorrow morning - its about time - all of our plants are either leafing out or are in bloom http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif
Stan75d2, take it easy on the judge. He isn't making the law, only ruling on the law as established by congress. If you have a complaint, it should be with congress. Neither the judge or the husband are breaking the law. This case has aroused the passions of a lot of people and it appears that some have gone completely overboard - these to shall pass.
Anyone starting their spring planting this weekend? I know some of you still can't see the ground, but fear not, its just around the corner.
Have a great day.

Of course, we are all disturbed by what is happening in Florida today.
According to what I heard last night the fight will continue to do something to help Terri Schiavo so all hope is not lost.
The family's lawyer was encouraging everyone to continue to flood congressional leadership with messages and also the Florida legislature.
Here's a link (http://www.terrisfight.org/)
There is even more contact info in Brenda's post at this link. (http://www.gopusa.com/cgi-bin/ib3/ikonboard.pl?act=ST&f=1&t=19715&st=30&&#entry169315)
We need to remember that not everyone sees this situation in the same way. On a political discussion forum it's important to recognize that everyone speaks in good faith, reflecting what they believe.
It's too late to help Jessica but at some point this country is going to have to come to grips with the protection of the innocent from sexual predators.
Der Alte, even though there are signs of Spring here it's many weeks too early for planting.

We finally had a few sunny, warmer, beautiful days this week. I'm off today so it's gray, with rain predicted. Sigh.
It's funny that so many deny that President Bush has a mandate when most of these same people believed that Bill Clinton (who didn't receive 50% of the popular vote in either election) had one.
Barbara Bush is a http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cool.gif woman. With her, what you see is what you get.

Sheriff Jeff Dawsy of Citrus County, Florida has announced they've found Jessica Lunsford's body. Four people were arrested, also. One was for non-payment of child support. The other three were arrested for obstruction of justice because Couey told them he was wanted and they failed to turn him in. At this point, they don't believe these people knew about the murder, but they're still going to investigate that aspect.
Sheriff Dawsy said he's being careful of what he says because they're building a capital case against Couey.

Not a moment too soon either. I urge everyone on the forum to find out (if you haven't already) if there are any sexual offenders in your area or within 100 miles. If you do find out there is such a useless scumbag within your area, let it be known. Put up big signs on every block from your home to the scumbags home, letting everyone know what lurks among them. Of course the authorities won't approve, but at least it may save a life and the scumbag will be exposed. Then it may be necessary to harass him until he moves on thereafter.
Of course he may move into another community that may be unaware of his evil existance, but by law he must register (at least in most if not all states, I'm pretty sure) as a sex offender. If we keep track of these scumbags, and continue to make them aware that we're WATCHING their every move, maybe they'll go back to the hellish dwelling they came from, if you know what I mean... http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

The Florida sheriff also said that the perp may have somehow interacted with Jessica at some point.
I guess that would not be too surprising since he was illegally staying within eyesight of her home.
The sheriff also said that the perp had no connection with her family.

Good morning....a disturbing morning to be sure.
Sex offenders on the street...if I were running the law...would be neutered. If you have been convicted of one or more sex crimes...and you EVER want to be out on the street living a life again. You would be neutered. Why should we have to worry about where they live?? That little process would take care of any problems. You say its harsh?? You bet...but then there would not be as many women and children..who are tortured and murdered. Like I say....good thing I am not running the law dept.
Barbara Bush is a real trip. I always enjoy seeing her speaking. It was more fun to see her deal with her boys!! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/laugh.gif
I think Terri Shaivo's husband...has another family...is tired of dealing with taking care of her..and wants the money...Its a crying shame...

What a depressing news day http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif
When I worked for the adult probation department in Texas, the judge would make sex offenders on probation put signs on their lawns and doors warning anyone coming near their home that a sex offender lived there. It raised a stink for a while, but trust me on this, the neighbors were glad for the warnings. I think ALL of them should have those signs in their yards.
Off to go shopping -- have to have something bright to think about today.
Thanks to those that gave me links on the investing questions I asked about yesterday. I have been reading until my eyes are bloody, but I'm learning.

Good Morning Everyone!
Well, as usual our world certainly has some sad things going on doesn't it?
And unforunately always will.
It rained over night and is still cloudy out so maybe a bit more rain today.
I finished my bio of Jane Austen - very well written and very interesting.
I am not clear on how Terri's husband gets money if she dies.....did he have an insurance policy on her?
I do wonder who is paying for all these legal bills and court costs.
Well, it's difficult to pretend that the day will be shinning with optimism - so I won't try.
It seems to me there are more and more little girls getting stolen right out of their beds: Elizabeth Smart, Polly Class (sp?), and now Jessica.
You'd like to think the kid was safe when she was sleeping in her bed in her own home.
We can warn kids not to talk to strangers, etc., etc., - but how do we tell them not to sleep in their own beds?
Lunch out - I'm feeling Italian today.
Self-inflicted ballet class - I am feeling ruthless.

I'm between students, and have a gig tonight. I just had a big row with the office store about defective ink cartridges and after repeated trips back and forth, i realized i had the wrong cartridge number and it was all my fault. This upset me so much because my Dad was just diagnosed with Alzheimers, and every time I do something stupid, I start thinking I'm getting it too. The news has me me so upset. About a year ago i got a flyer in my door saying that a sexual predator lives in my neighborhood, and when Jessica first went missing, the helicopters were buzzing our area for hours. (Remember?) The business about Terri has me so upset, especially since there are people whom I care about who can't seem to see the situation for what it is, and it breaks my heart. I'm really too upset to post so I'll see you tomorrow. I have to dry my tears and wash up before my next student comes.

<span style='color:green'>Hello everybody http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wavey.gif
Yes, yesterday was a sad day. *You know, it must be difficult to be a judge sometimes. *Don't get me wrong, there are many judges that aren't always good. *But, can you imagine being a judge and not agreeing (morally) with the decision you have to make that will impact SO many lives....but you have to because it is the law?? *
I don't know the whole story on Judge Greer....but, if he had to make his decision based on the way the law is written...what was his choice?
I just wish Michael Schiavo would allow some doctors to see Terri on video, whatever, so that they can check her over and see if there is any hope. *What's the harm in just finding out once and for all?
I am just so heartbroken about Jessica. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/bawl.gif I still can't believe that dog didn't bark. *Who knows...maybe it did bark but the grand parents didn't hear it. *I'm a really light sleeper, I hear EVERYTHING!
My prayers to her family.
DerAlte: Nope...can't plant anything yet. *It has actually gotten chilly here again. *Still a bit of snow up on those mountains. *We don't plant flowers/gardens here until about the 1st of May. *Sometimes I get to impatient and will plant some established flowers in my barrels under the trees where they are protected, in April.
Well, we are painting sonny boy's room today. *Got his bed set up, now just need to get the headboard and frame. *I think I'm more excited than he is to redo it like a teenager room. *I love to decorate and paint though. I get bored with things about every 3 years and I have to redo everything. That's why I need slipcover furniture, then I need a sewing machine so I can learn to make slip covers. *I would love to be able to change slip covers every season.
Well, it's 51 degrees outside my door this morning. That's in the sunshine though, so it's probably not feeling quite that warm out there yet. No WIND!! *Yeahhhh!
Sonny boy is on Spring Break now. *We will leave for my folks in eastern Oregon on Wednesday and come back home on Sunday. I'm anxious to see my nephews. *My youngest nephew is 3 years old, and he knows the Lord's Prayer. He recited it to me on the phone the other day, and it was just so precious...he said every word with great enunciation. *http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/thumbs-up.gif He also has a little guitar he plays while he sings....just TOO cute! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/angel.gif
Well, I better do some reading, and get busy!
Have a great day today everybody...

The Commodore & his Lady unto the Forum: Greetings.
Re Terri Schindler Schialvo: the Congress convenes Monday, 22 March 2005. The Republicans in power will work out the details so that Mrs. Schialvo will have her feeding tubes restored, and (hopefully) will be examined by board certified medical personnel and treated in the finest traditions of American medicine to the Glory of God.
Concerning Judge Greer: Baptist Press reports that he has withdrawn from membership in his local congregation, citing irreconcilable differences between him and the Church. His local pastor advised him to administer justice in the Judaeo-Christian manner (read Micah of Moresh). He refused, and resigned his membership. Hence he must face the consequences of his actions, including, if necessary, the Judge's incareration in the Federal Prison System for contempt of Congress, pour encourager les autres (to encourage the others).
Concerning Michael Schialvo: one proposal in the legislation will remove him from being the legal guardian of Terri, thus bypassing Judge Greer & George Felos. This will be challenged in the Federal District Court unless that challenge is removed, a process known as legislative estoppal. And the debate will be bitter and lively. The Democrats will be hoist by their own petard, because they have been using the Federal Judiciary for so long they have forgotten that it can work both ways.
The situation is, at present, uncertain. Our only hope is to follow the B. B. McKinney hymn and Have Faith In God.

I know you guys are tired of all the bad news that has been coming out of the tv box the last couple of days. Well I have some good news to report. It seems that the Kurds and the Shi’ite have reached a deal concerning who do what. The possible deal is that a Kurd will be President of Iraq and a Shi’ite will be Prime Minister. I sure hope that this works out for the best.
Senator Fank Lautenburg (D-NJ) has introduce a bill on the floor of the Senate to re-instate the AWB. The usual suspects have also signed on to this piece of unecessary legistation. We all know who they are. I hope that the bill gets killed in committee. Of course that would get the http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/jacka.gif really foaming at the mouth, more that they already are.
Tony Snow is going to be on Fox News at the end of his news show. He is going to give an update on how he is doing. My prayers are still going out to him and his family.

So what exactly is Congress going to do when they reconvene today? I'm a bit confused.. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif Are they going to actually change the law, or make a new one??
Well, my tators are baking. I decided that we'll have our twice baked potatoes and turkey breast today instead of tomorrow.
Not sure how much of sonny boy's room we'll get painted today. I have a sinus headache, and the thought of painting is not real thrilling right now. Painting is very drying to the sinus' anyway....so it may have to wait til tomorrow....

Tom DeLay has just announced that the House and Senate leadership has reached a bi-partisan agreement on a bill to save Terri Schiavo.
The Senate will vote on it today.
The House will be called back into a rare Sunday afternoon session to vote on it tomorrow.
Not sure exactly what the bill does but it will apparently bring the matter to federal court to assure that Terri will receive nutrition until the courts decide jurisdiction.
One congressman is saying that he really feels this is a states right issue but that Florida has failed to address it adequately. Therefore Congress is forced to deal with it.
Steve King of Iowa says that her guardian has ill-used his responsiblity and that Terri deserves at least as much protection as a convicted murderer. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/yes.gif
When the people truly become involved and speak out, Congress responds.

<span style='color:red'><span style='font-size:11pt;line-height:100%'>Good Afternoon</span></span> Welcome to our new members. I am still sick, still stuffy. I even had to back out of doing the Walk for the Cure this morning for juvenile diabetes on Siesta Key (wife's orders). That pain never came back since then.

Let's not forget that Terri had her tube removed once before, for 6 days, and the more compassionate among us (in that case our governor), was able to act before she had further irreparable harm done. I agree with Danny, something stinks about her entire 2 decade ordeal, and its name is Michael. He has been playing it cool, but his pretense is slipping, as can be seen by the request for cremation and no autopsy. Definitely getting fishier all the time. http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif

I will plan on introducing tough provisions for any previously convicted sex offenders involving minors, when I get to the state legislature in 2007, and their privacy rights be dammed http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smash.gif . If people say we should have learned from the Atlanta courthouse incident about how to deal with felons in court, then we need to learn something from Jessica's ordeal as well. In response to Carly Bruchia in Sarasota, the legislature passed Carly's law, which changed how probation violaters are handled (which was the case in Carly's murder; as opposed to being a sex offender). We just need to make all our laws tougher that could help our children.

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYBODY.
I've been watching all the news this morning on Fox on both Terri Schiavo (no "l" in there Commodore) and Jessica Lunsford.
Both incidents just make my heart grieve. The beautiful young woman who only knows what really happened to her and can't tell about it, and a beautiful little girl whose life was cut so short by a heinous criminal.
I saw the other three "people" involved in the Lunsford situation. If you ask me, there is pure evil in their eyes. Just look at them!
<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr class="standard"><td>Quote </td></tr><tr class="standard"><td class="QUOTE">There's something more sinister behind the death sentence the husband has wanted for this woman, and there's no other logical reason for him to want her DEAD - then immediately cremated, unless...

Yup, DannyD(ude) you are so right. I've been wondering why AFTER 7 YEARS, her "husband" decided to say that she told him her wishes. And, I can't believe ANY judge wouldn't find it highly suspect that he wants her cremated immediately upon death, and with no autopsy. I thought an autopsy was automatic in cases such as Terri's and that the "family" had no say in it. I could be wrong...but that's the impression I've been under.

The Commodore & his Lady unto the Forum: greetings.
Re Jessica: a local Motorcycle Club, specializing in Harley-Davidsons, did a drive-by in Jessica's honor today. She is now with The Lord God, Who will avenge her on His timetable. Although we may say (and often do), The Sooner The Better, we must wait upon Him.
Numerous citations from Scripture can be applied to our prayers for Terri. In Revelations, the Saints ask, "How long, O Lord, Holy and True, do you judge and avenge our blood upon those who dwell in the earth?" Paul quotes Isaiah: "Vengenance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord!"
The Commodore knows that God will have the last Word, not some human who thinks he can deprive Terri of justice. Now to sit back and let God do His Will.

Anything dipped in chocolate is the better for it including fingers.
This sounds like a marriage made in heaven - or online - or somewhere in between.
I had a dinner party once where I gave each guest a bowl of melted chocolate and lots of cut up fruit and we dipped and dunked and had a wonderful time.
Dipped nuts are splendid too.

Not to get off this subject, but I have a question and really would like your imput on it.
When the Judge (Court)says;
YOU ARE INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
AND THE JURY SAYS 'NOT GUILTY'
AND THEN ALL OUR TV LAWYERS SAY. AQUITTED BUT NOT INNOCENT.
Now which is it, either guilty or innocent or aquited.

Ok, here goes the explaination I got from my Journalism professor when I was in college. I don”t know if it will help or not.
Many newpapers use short sentences for headlines. When a copy guy gets the headline, sometimes he will leave off the Not part in “Not Guilty” when the jury retuns that verdict. So in the interest of fairness (ha) the headline writer will use the term aquitted, intead. It saves a lot of hassles and lawsuits later on down the road. As for the innocent part, I don’t that there is one newspaper or tv news outlet believes once you are arrested, you maybe innocent of the crime.

Re: Der Alte:
Tomorrow....66 years ago...I was baptized...I declared that Jesus was God Almighty....my Lord and Savior....and I gave my life to Him....
But that isn't the story I wish to tell here tonight...and there will be no emoticons...
It was about 7:30 PM and the family was in the Nesbitt Hospital....Tom, George, Dick, Myself. Loretta, and Shirley....all that was left out of 11 children...our sister Mary the oldest at this time....was in the ICC unit....the door opened and Dr. Araya came out...He said, Your sister is dead...I want you all to be here at 7:30 tomorrow morning and I will take her off life support at that time.....I can tell you...I was devastated...Mary had just about raised me from a little baby...she was like my Mother....I began to cry uncontrolably...I just couldn't stop...I drove home....told my wife Elsie what the Dr.said....But I kept screaming...She isn't dead...She isn't dead..Elsie called the lady next door, Ann, to help control me...I was beyond myself and she was frightened....They both tried to calm me and said...Stan...your sister is dead and you have to face that fact....It only made me worse...then...I pounded the table and screamed.....JESUS OWES ME A FAVOR....AND I WANT MY SISTER BACK....I then went quietly into bed and slept like a baby....I woke the next morning...went to where we all were to meet at Loretta's house...then I said to them all...If you know how to pray...pray for your sister now....well they all thought I was crazy and I was still crying profusely...they didn't want me to drive my car...but I did...I was reluctant to go into the hospital and was the last one in...when we got to the second floor...Dt. Araya came out of the ICC unit...passed everyone and came direct to me....He said....STANLEY..YOU R SISTER IS ALIVE...I turned around and went to the pay phone around the corner...a girl was on the phone...I said, get off the phone I want to use it....she did...I dialed Elsie...she answered and I said..SHE'S ALIVE! and was so happy I hung up...
Well, sister Mary lived for ten more years...If she wasn't given that extra 12 hours...I would have lost my sister ...
Now Der Alte...I hope you can realize why I want that extra chance for Theresa Schiavo..
Sorry for the long post!

Good evening, everyone!
Everyone else seems to have a question--so I'll throw mine out and see if anyone knows the answer.
If I'm not mistaken, M. Schiavo sued for the care and rehabilitation of his wife, right? If that was what he sued for and didn't use it for that, shouldn't the insurance company or whomever he sued have some retribution http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif Or, am I all wet http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/rock.gif
She has had no therapy--just stuck away in a home for someone else to care for her, but no therapy, as far as speech, eating, etc., are concerned that anyone seems to know about http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif
Just curious!
Stan, how long were you a reporter or were you actually a reporter -- that's a job I think I would have loved when I was much, much younger! Of course, my oldest son told me when he was just a kid that I should be an attorney, I asked enough questions! Funny, isn't it, how kids don't like to be questioned, but this was one mama who always wanted to know where my kids were going and/or had been! AND, I let them know there were places that my car better not be seen when they used it! http://www.gopusa.com/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/hehe.gif

Hey stormy. You are right. The insurance company would have the right to recover the money...unless he sued just for "medical malpractice" which is what I understand is what the suit was about. If he didn't sue expressly for "injuries and for funds to take care of her"...the insurance company has no recourse. I heard he got 20 million dollars, of which he "set aside" 1 million to take care of her needs. Dirty rat has 19 million off her life and used the 1 mil to pay "attorney's fees" to kill her off. He's a piece of pig offal as far as I am concerned. I can't even look at his smarmy face.
Anyway, Stan75d, bless your heart. You certainly did experience a miracle. I just hope that the fed court who will have to hear and rule on the Congressional legislation has more compassion and eyes to question the facts than that dingbat Greer in Florida.
We all should pray...especially those of us who don't have husbands OR parents to decide for us. I intend to make my wishes known to my children.
Also, there appears to be a chance to get the "husband" removed as guardian and the parents named in his place. I certainly hope this can happen.
He's just too eager to kill her off to suit me.

Stormy, Michael Schiavo did sue for medical malpractice and got money (I've heard differing amounts, up to 1.5 million). This was, I believe, in 1992. I've never heard if Terri's care was being paid for by him or by another means (insurance or the state).
However, if he was required by the terms of the suit to use it for Terri's care and didn't, you'd think he'd have to pay some type of restitution. If it wasn't required of him to use it for that purpose, there wouldn't be any basis for action against him. I've heard, too, that she has been given no therapy.
Oh, so you were a questioning mama, too, Stormy? My kids knew to expect questions whenever they wanted to go somewhere. Sometimes it drove them crazy, but I'll bet they'll do the same with their own children.

I was a reporter and photographer for my college newspaper, although I did submit articles and photos on a freelance basis to a local newpaper from time to time. None of them were ever used.
