theft rings

Authorities say South American theft rings first arrived in the United States in the 1980s, are responsible for billions of dollars in retail losses and use "booster bags" to defeat store electronic sensors, usually a regular shopping bag lined with foil and duct tape. Some telltale signs:

* They usually work in groups of two to six people, varying in age and sex, and many prefer to use a woman to distract store clerks.

* They usually target merchandise from the front of a store, often using hand signals as a go-ahead or a warning.

* They make several trips to the same stores and spend hours at malls loading their vehicle. They use plastic trash bags or larger duffel bags to place clothing inside the trunk or on the back seat.

* They often ship stolen merchandise out of motels by using FedEx and UPS.

It appears that another problem with the illegals has shown up. This is the first time I have seen this information, but from watching them in our local stores, it was something that I suspected.
